Decided to try this place for lunch. We sat outside since the weather was nice well had to go inside since everyone was smoking in the patio and there was no servers coming out to take our order. This place was crowded and the waitress took a lil long, she was super busy! Shout out to all servers! but the crowd was weirdly perfect and the food was good. I had the pizza , my husband got Cesar chicken salad and we also ordered the ahi tuna from the appetizer section. We tried a new beer I think it was called kariem jabar??? Great place to stop on the road from Central Cal to San Diego. Once you're done with LA traffic, check out Tustin Brewing. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. Good sized dining area and bar (full bar!) seating with a great view of the brewery tanks. Loved the local history photos. Lots of their brews on tap, we enjoyed a beer and a glass of wine. Super disappointed in this place. We had called weeks ahead of time to ask if they could accommodate a large group and they told us yes but needed a confirmed headcount a week before we came. We called and confirmed and they gave us the green light and capped it at 20 people. Totally understandable. Day of, we get there and they have our group at one long table which is not ideal to converse when you're just in a row. We asked if we could move to the patio and the man working there was very rude and got aggressive. Overall, very negative experience. After speaking with others who were going to join, we received feedback from Tustin locals that this place is known to be racist and not treat people of color with decent service. So, just a heads up for others that this is not a good place to bring a larger group even if you confirm with them way ahead of time and if you happen to have some pigment in your skin, you're probably not going to get the best service. Warning: smoking is allowed in their outdoor dining patio. If this matters to you, I'd consider eating somewhere else. We were asked to sit outside because space was going to be needed for their trivia night finals, so didn't have a choice on whether we wanted to sit where smoking was allowed. While it's not illegal in California to allow smoking on a restaurant patio, it's a pretty uncommon policy in 2024 and we didn't enjoy having people smoke around us. That said, I'm still giving them 4 stars, since the food and beer were good, and our server was attentive. He checked up on us often without being invasive, and food and drinks were brought out pretty promptly. I'd go back, but only if they had space available indoors. The staff at TBC hosted our last minute group of a dozen on their patio. The menu has a solid selection of consistent grub at absolutely reasonable prices ($11 wood fired pizzas for two?!?) and the kitchen plated and delivered in remarkable time on a Saturday night. I've been coming here since I was in middle school probably, having grown up in Tustin. I've seen this place change a lot. A couple of years ago, I'd definitely give this place five stars based on the quality of food and level of service. Now, I know a lot of things have changed with the COVID-10 pandemic... But the service has been absolutely atrocious the last few times. On the most recent occasion, we saw our server.. a total of three times? Getting the check was nearly impossible. (This was a Tuesday for an early lunch.) I kind of felt like because we weren't drinking beer that we didn't get as much attention as other tables? Although -- a lot of people seemed to be waiting for food.. Time before this service was pretty terrible too. Not as bad as this most recent visit (if we hadn't spent almost 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over and greet us / take our drink order, I might've walked out.) What I still love: - Taco Tuesday. I adore the chicken tacos. Definitely worth it! SO GOOD - Garlic Bread. It's like a garlic bread pizza. SO TASTY. - Is it funny I love the house salad? Don't think it's worth the $6, but gotta get my greens. - Indoor and outdoor seating. I know things are still tricky with staffing - but c'mon.. I have only been here a few times but they have all been great experiences! The first time I ordered a drink from the bar I asked for a sweet drink. The bartender said she was already making a raspberry lemon drop for someone and she highly recommended it. So I went for it! It was so delicious! I know it's already a good drink but this bartender made it perfectly! It is my new 'go-to' cocktail. We have visited during the week for happy hour and ordered the nachitos (smaller version of nachos). We finished it pretty quickly. The other time we visited it was on a weekend so we ordered the regular sized nachos. Those we did not finish but ate a pretty good amount. Perfect food if you are going to enjoy some drinks. The biggest bummer is that I can't enjoy the patio because they have a special license that allows smoking. I think during the pandemic they really should make it a non-smoking patio because now I feel like I have to make a choice between getting sick with a virus or getting rhinitis from breathing in all the smoke. We also had a pretzel that was as mediocre as the ones you get at a ball game. We tried the spicy ribs which were smoked in house and they were super yummy. The short rib tacos were pretty ok too. Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. The inside was pretty busy so our party opted for the patio. Unfortunately, they allow smoking on the patio. This is insane for a restaurant in 2024. We sat at a non-smoking table which doesn't matter when the table next to us allows smoking. On top of that, the service is soooo slow. Our food was good, but I waited about 45 minutes for a turkey club and some at our table waited 30 minutes for a beer. There's no shortage of good breweries/restaurants in the area so go ahead and skip this one. read more

Great food choices - a little bit for everyone's tastes. But not too hard to choose. I only changed my mind twice while others were ordering first. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with steak fries. My better half had the Taquitos which came with guacamole, shredded lettuce and cheese (from the appetizer menu). Both were delicious and filling. The Buffalo Chicken was spicy but not too much, which I liked, and had coleslaw - which helped make for a sloppy sandwich. And the steak fries were perfectly cooked inside and out. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. And I was having second thoughts about the wood-fired oven pizzas after seeing my friend devour his. (Next time.) If you're not a sports person, don't worry about it. While there are plenty of TVs, there are still enough areas were you can have normal conversations with friends. Parking is a challenge in that lot, but be patient and don't be bothered by parking a bit further away from the restaurant. After 6, most of the businesses in the center close and space is easier. Waiter took 20 min to take drink order. Forgot to place my wife's pizza on order. Deliver everything except pizza and disappeared. Me and my son were finished eating when I was able to flag him down to ask about her pizza. He return, said kitchen error and suggested a completely different pizza than we had ordered, BBQ chicken vs the special Garlic Shrimp. Correct him, took 15 min and it was doughy in the center. I asked for a manager, sat for 10 minutes waiting for her and told her, the story, that we were leaving and they were taking care of the entire bill! My friend had the Cobb salad and it was huge!! I had the pear cider, sweet but not too sweet, and did the job. The red ale was great too! As well as the blonde. ***READ THIS*** Typical Friday leave the office and go get a drink to go watch the lakers game at what I thought was a "chill spot". Got there ordered some drinks and was enjoying our time. As we are discussing work and our business, before we can even finish our drinks the server JOSE comes to interrupt us and just ask "another one?" mid conversation. The man seemed busy so I guess to keep us satisfied he just wanted to make sure our drinks are filled at all times. Keep in mind I have been here for 2 hours at this point and apparently when (on my terms) I asked for another drink for my colleague and I, he says no you have to order food for me to give you a "fifth drink". Which is ridiculous because I was in this same establishment a few weeks earlier on a Saturday during the day watching college football and I know for a fact this same server had served me more than 5 drinks when I was there alone. The way Jose tried to explain his reasoning was terrible he sounded incompetent at that point I asked to speak with a manager. The manager on duty ANA NUNEZ came over to our table. Long story short she said I have been pouring your drinks and I can refuse service at any point. It didn't take long for her to realize that my colleague and I were not intoxicated, not even in the slightest. She started fumbling her words and couldn't give a valid point to what her intentions were. What I understood from it was my buddy and I were "camping" at the restaurant. Just having drinks and not ordering food so the server couldn't make as much money from that table on a Friday night. Never the less the server and manager approached it all in the wrong way let me tell you that. ***THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING*** Ana Nunez seemed to have her mind set and said we're done being served. So I requested my check so I can just pay my bill and be on my way. 10 mins go by and the server comes by and says "your drinks have been taken care of". You have the audacity to make this situation into such an issue and once you realize I'm sober as a whistle you pay our bill? It was honestly comical at that point. I requested to pay the bill multiples times and also to speak with Ana again and the server Jose said she won't speak with me or give me the option to PAY MY OWN BILL! The manger wouldn't show her face near our table as we continued to watch the lakers game. We asked if we can have WATER and the server Jose refused to serve us that as well. It was a circus to say the least. You missed out on some loyal customers. For the record everyone DON'T waste your time here. It's pretty cut and dry on what a brewery is capable of offering, with that being said having a 3.5 stars prior to this review is already a red flag. So, we opted for the patio and quickly realized that this place allows their regulars to chain smoke on the patio for some reason? When we asked staff to do something about it because our one-month-old and her 2 year old cousin were sitting about 10 feet away from them, they refused. I don't really care about the alleged legality of smoking on a restaurant patio, it's still an issue that they allow this wildly anti-social behavior. This place poses like a modern family-friendly restaurant and brewery, but behaves like a dirty dive bar from a less civilized age. So if that's what you're looking for, this is your spot. Wow hadn't been to TBC in years. was location of my wife and my first date many years ago and used to go there frequently with friends and family through the years and always enjoyed it. Well the other day was different. Wasn't crowded but service was crap. Food took forever to come out (tasted fine but menu seemed limited to what I remember from years back). Pretty sure server forgot to put order in until we asked what was going on. They never asked us or checked in while we just sat there. I'm going to have to give this place only two stars because I didn't have a great experience when I came. Unfortunately I came during a Packers-49ers game and the taproom was packed. Service was slow and after sitting at a table for what seemed like forever I had to go order at the bar, where I also had to wait for a bit. But while I waited at the bar, someone finally came to my table to take our order. Not ideal. My beer tasted fine once I got it. I understand that it was very busy so I'm sure service is better than what I experienced. However, I have no desire to return. There are two things here that are not for me, that's the restaurant feel to it and the bright lights. I like breweries to be feel like a brewery and to be dimly lit. read more

On Friday May 2nd my family and friends went to Tustin Brewing Company and had one of the worst experiences ever. I strongly discourage the community from giving them any money until major changes are made. The main trigger of all of this is the smoking on the patio. Some back story. I called and asked if dogs were allowed on the patio, was told yes they were. My husband called back while we at a kids baseball game to make a reservation for 9 people, including 3 kids, an elderly mother, and our dog on the patio. We arrived at the restaurant around 8pm. Yes, it was very busy, but we were sat pretty quickly. That's about where it being good ended. We placed our orders and things went downhill from there. While waiting for our drinks and food we noticed a table smoking cigarettes. We asked our server and he told us the 2 tables in the back are allowed to smoke because they are 20 feet from the door. I've never heard of this. But we were with our kids and tried to make the most of it. It just kept getting worse. More and more people kept joining the smokers, not just cigarettes, cigars, cloves, and vaping. We were very uncomfortable. I asked if we could move inside with our dog. We were told no. While this was happening the service was also horrible. Water got spilled and we had to get our own towels to clean it up. Our kids had water that never got refilled. The kids were starving as we kept waiting and waiting for our food. Finally, a little over an hour from waiting we had to move. Our party of 9, again 3 kids and also my friends elderly mother, moved our own tables and chair to try and get away from the overwhelming smoke. Our server and the bartender who was assisting him were very aware of how uncomfortable we were. We finally got our food, an hour and a half later. My son's food and one of our other friends' food were wrong. At that point my son was so hungry he just ate it. As we all quickly ate our food to get out of the horrible situation I saw an empty table for the boys to go sit at inside. It's extremely sad when your child says to you, "Finally, fresh air!" We were all so disgusted by the amount of smoke and disregard, I put down a card and paid for the whole table. We did not have the time or patience to split the bill. Our server brought back the check, and didn't even bring me an itemized receipt. Again, at that point we were all so upset and grossed out, we just wanted out of there. Us parents were trying to keep our cool in front of our kids. Later I called and asked to speak to the manager. I was told she was gone for the night. I spoke with the main lead. I told him about the situation. His response was, "Ya, it's a smoking patio." And that was about it. I asked him to have the manager call me the next day when she got in. Mind you, when we got home both my husband and I had headaches and our stomachs were upset from the amount of smoke we had to sit through. The next day I called and spoke with the manager Anna. She is the only positive thing about this whole experience. She felt horrible and was truly empathetic. She had no idea this was happening while we were there. I was told we were supposed to be told it was a smoking area. We clearly were not. Again, she was the only positive light in this situation. For a local restaurant to have a smoking patio is disgusting. To have tables out there with children is a pure disregard for public safety and health. This restaurant does not care about health or safety, it is clear with their ownership and employees. There was absolutely no mention or signs that smoking is allowed. I highly urge everyone to boycott this establishment until changes have been made. A year ago I watched my father pass away from lung disease. This restaurant is only adding to that disease and cause of death. read more

We went here after dinner to try their beers. We got a table inside where there were a lot of tvs for watching sporting events. It was World Series playoff time so there was quite the buzz in the restaurant. I had a huckleberry Hard Seltzer which tasted great and highlighted the huckleberry flavor. It was light, refreshing, and slightly sweet. The others at our table stuck to the beer and enjoyed them. Our waiter was really on top of his game and came by the table multiple times to check on us.
