Bottled water was provided and he even stopped to get Fresh pizza for us. By the time we finished touring with Roberto for two days we felt that we knew so much about the area, history and culture of the region. Roberto's knowledge or art, history, food and culture was so impressive. The tour we did with Roberto was much more than him driving us from place to place. Each place we went was so carefully planned and curated. We visited wineries, vineyards and a sheep farm that makes cheese. With his help, we were able to visit every place we wanted to see as well as some smaller unknown, hidden gems. We saw so many beautiful landscapes and Roberto stopped frequently for us to take in the views! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Roberto. We hope to go back soon to tour Umbria and Florence with Roberto.

As a Black woman from the U.S., I faced poor customer service and discrimination. My tour guide, Tomaso, was rude and condescending. First, he ignored me and other people of color in my group by not speaking to us or even giving eye contact at the beginning of the tour. Second, Tomaso told me that I wasn't allowed to record videos as this was the owner's rule and he demanded that I delete any videos from my phone. I felt that he was singling me out and trying to embarrass me. This "policy" was not shared in writing or verbally in advance. Also, I've seen other guests post videos on social media, even days before my visit, which included Tomaso's face. The energy of the tour felt unwelcoming. During the tasting, no one followed up to ask how I was enjoying the wines or if I was interested in purchasing. It felt like the establishment didn't care about my business. Next, the staff said I could take photos with my wine in front of the amazing terrace view, then they refused. The castle shouldn't schedule tastings right before closing if guests will be pushed out. The only reason I didn't leave a one star review is due to a good experience with an outstanding staff member. Sole was very nice and offered me a ride to my car! She's the kind of employee who should be rewarded for going above and beyond and providing wonderful service to guests. Overall, the castle was beautiful, but the tour was dry with no enthusiasm and the service was lacking. Some staff seemed more concerned with showing attention to white guests and heading home than providing a memorable visit for everyone. I envisioned a once-in-a-lifetime experience that would leave me feeling enlightened, supported, and valued. Instead, I felt dismissed, excluded, and disrespected. I will return to Tuscany, but to a different winery that prides themselves on excellent service and fairness for all.

My friend recommended Grape Tours and I felt relief as there was no easy way to have that kind of experience with 8 family members without a car. We selected Fabulous Tuscany! We walked to the wine and cheese shop right from our Airbnb in Florence. We were greeted by Rebecca at 8:45AM, and our driver for the day, Daniel at 9AM as planned. All 8 of us had an amazing day with Daniel visiting Campo Sasso with Pierre (and Frisbee their amazing pup!), sampling wine, balsamic and cheese (all incredible!) on their gorgeous country grounds. Then onto Tenuta La Novella, another beautiful winery with unique wine barrels and fabulous wine and honey to die for! Again the pups (Little Nana especially) kept us entertained. Our final stop was with Miscia at Tenuta Montiani and just wow! Miscia *and his pups!* shared a meal with us that was out of this world and his hospitality and stories top notch. One of the best days on our trip together and I highly recommend Rebecca and Pierre's special itinerary they put together for a varied winery experience! We did the wine lovers tour at Antinori nel Chianti Classico the day prior to our Franco Fadda tour, and it was awesome to follow that with Franco Fadda. We got to see much smaller wineries in comparison and felt like it was a more authentic, unique experience that we would never have been able to do on our own. What's even better is Franco is such good friends with everyone along the way that you just can't help but smile at all of their interactions together. And it's easy to see why! Franco is such a blast to be around, and we were with him for 12 hours straight. :) Throughout the day, we essentially had a private tour and tasting at each winery with no one else onsite, and got a much closer look at each wineries' processes and what made them unique. Each winery was phenomenal with delicious wines, and we shipped some home from them all, which Franco makes easy by helping coordinate it for you in partner with one of the wineries. Lastly, the olive oil farm was a wonderful treat too! We got to taste and see the olive oil being made by one of the best makers in the world and he's only 20 years old! It was incredible and basically being made out of a garage-like space on the family's property. We honestly cannot recommend a tour with Franco Fadda enough. We've been raving about it since we got back from our honeymoon, and it was easily the main highlight of our entire trip. This is a once in a lifetime experience that is worth every penny and more!
