Letters and numbers are also practiced frequently. They just completed a gardening unit that was a big hit. One favorite activity is dance parties for the littles and there are no screens! This is rare. Little Angels emphasize multicultural, inclusive, non-religious, multi lingual learning. And they provide all meals and snacks, wholesome and fun vegetarian foods. The building is bright, open, and non-cluttered, with separate classrooms for the babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. However they all interact on a daily basis and class sizes have very low teacher:student ratio. Ms. Bhavya goes out of her way to make each child feel welcome, included, and seen. Moreover she wants to really understand and support each child's unique needs and brains. She is intentional in how she individually onboards children and makes sure they feel safe. Many of the teachers and coaches are personally invested and involved in the development of their student's into young adults that will live their lives for Christ and be successful responsible citizens in the future. I do contend that there are still some class issues among the high school students. (However, not uncommon in any high school) I think the staff and the parent leaders need to focus on inclusion of all kids no matter the background and try hard to invite in new parents and children into their smaller circles. Staff planning should also consider that some families have both parents working in the home so including all kids and parents means considering working hours for special events or people will be left out.

Let me explain : Continually throughout my experience in this school there have been issues with bullying. This is not something I only experienced, but also saw happening to other students. When brought the attention of admin, they would brush off or excuse these students behaviors discipline in this school is not properly formatted at all. Students will get Saturday schools for toilet papering someone's house on the weekend outside of school whereas a student who was sexually harassing multiple girls and sending nudes, got suspended for three days and was allowed to come back to the school. Discrimination in this school is a very real thing and is apparent. If you are from a wealthy family or you donate to the school or you have connections within the school, you will have a great time at the school. Your kids will get away with whatever they would like to do, regardless of who it harms. As someone who is not in that circle, my concerns were never properly addressed. I was brushed off. My little sister also attended this school since fifth grade. This last year she was a seventh grader so we were on the same campus. Every single week was a different fight with extreme bullying down to kids getting physical and there being no repercussions besides a slap on the wrist. I began to have to step in. When I would try to reach out to administration or Davenport they were just seem frustrated with me for even trying to help and stated "it's just standard junior high bullying." as if these things my sister was experiencing were acceptable. Besides the disciplinary and administration side of the school, the education as well as the teachers also fall short of expectations. This last year I struggled with extreme health issues that made miss over a third of the whole year. I had doctors notes I was in and out of the ER. The school had promised to be accommodating and said that they would help me out given the fact that I have doctors notes. This did not happen. Teachers at the school are rude. I specifically struggled with my Spanish teacher. Her grading was inconsistent and for the final we were not even given the rubric until she was grading the final. She had also changed up the scoring for the final the day we were all submitting it. I gave a teacher late work with the doctors note and emailed her away before grades were finalized. She failed to put them in four weeks and then I got a letter from administration saying the grades were finalized in the our needs to submit a formal complete in order to get my work graded. This email was not polite. This email was rude and the exact opposite of what administration had said they would do. Prior to this year of school I was an honorable student. And now I'm having to retake classes that I should've passed because of unfair grading and lazy teachers.

The maestras/teachers are wonderful, experienced, and patient. The owner, Maestra Ana, is on top of everything, helpful, and communicative. The school is a Spanish immersion school which i was drawn to. My kids have learned a lot of Spanish since they started, and they've learned so much, and have fun doing it. They have circle time, a playground in back, and a great system in place. They also provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The environment is welcoming, and I feel confident that my kids are safe and in an environment where they will thrive. They also post regular photos and videos of your kids in a school app so that you can see how your kids are doing throughout the day. That's been great for me since I was a bit concerned about their transition from home to a preschool. Also, if you're planning for your kids to joint the dual immersion program at Von Renner, then having them start at Primeros Pasos is great idea to give them a head start. They may also be labeled as bilingual by the time they test for Von renner, and have a better chance of getting in. I heard the dual immersion program is very competitive. The TK program at school is only in English, so that's something else to consider. Lastly, the school accepts CAPP, which is a program by the county that helps with the cost of care, so be sure to ask Ana about it if cost is an issue - because there's help if it is.

I go to deposit it and lo and behold.. IT'S NOT SIGNED. Yes, seriously, they sent me an unsigned check. From there, I went back to the email thread, going back and forth a million times with accounting and random people who never introduced themselves. An aggressive email from a random staff member named Patricia, who never introduced herself or her role in the whole situation. I didn't receive any phone calls, no apology, no accountability. Weeks go by, and I don't receive another check, so I filed a dispute with my bank after attempting to resolve this for over a month. Guess what? I finally heard back from accounting. They tried to get me to cancel my dispute so that they could issue a check again. I said nope! Thankfully, a week or so later, my bank was able to refund me the entire amount after literally faxing them our email thread and the unsigned check. Please do not bring yourself or your children here. The staff here is unprofessional and incompetent and needs to brush up on their customer service. Avoid. At. All. Costs.
