Cantonese food is my favorite cuisine and of all the restaurants I visited in Toronto this year,…read morethis was the most memorable. I wanted to try Peking Duck and got clued into J&Y as one of the best options to try which did not disappoint. The Peking Duck was so tender, so flavorful and so wonderfully succulent. It was perfectly prepared and sliced with the fat rendered and thinly sliced. The wraps were not the monstrous steamed buns but traditional translucent wraps which are super thin, soft and pliable. Scallions, cucumber, hoisin sauce completed each wrap which highlighted the duck. Definitely the best traditional Peking Duck preparation I've had in a very very long time. The remains of the duck were used for make a duck fried rice and duck soup, again both were amazing. It takes a certain skill to make fried rice cleanly without an excessive oily coating on each grain of rice. This was one of the best fried rices I've ever had! No gratuitous mushy frozen peas needlessly added either. Well seasoned fried pork ribs and veggies completed the courses I had, everything was truly wonderful and I hope to revisit again.

We also told them we were missing a chair, they never addressed it and we ended up having to get the chair ourself. We ordered the combo dinner for 10 people for $650, there were 10 adults and 2 small kids aged 3 and 1, the restaurant added $12 for goby fish which was already on the combo menu, $14 for supposedly bigger lobsters, the restaurant suggested we order an extra set of wraps for Peking duck, but there was so little duck skin and meat that we couldn't finish using up the wraps; we asked for 2 extra bowls of red bean soup which never came! Btw the red bean soup was so seriously diluted! Overall poor service and too much upselling by restaurant made for a bad experience

such a fun vibe here! it's great for big groups and friend gatherings for drinking…read more My favorite skewers were the lamb, chicken heart & chicken gizzard. the cabbage is also phenomenal & highly recommend that. For drinks, I got the lychee coronita which is massive & can last you the whole night. The servers are quite busy so the service is meh but it's still fine.

We arrived…read morejust after 6PM on a weekday Wednesday night thinking it will be a little less busy, but that was not the case. We still had to wait around 45 mins to 1 hour before being seated. Street Grill's interior and decor lends to it's theming as an old Asian alley where you get snack food from street vendors. I appreciated that the wall columns and dividers were intentionally chipped at uneven spots to fit that theme. You get a lot of variety with the available food options. They have beef, pork, lamb, chicken, seafood, and grilled veggies. The drinks also have their own separate menu with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. In our 1st batch of orders, we had the Garlic Eggplant and Ham & Cilantro Bean Curd Rolls for starters. Both are good and safe recommendations for everyone. For the rest of the food, we had Beef Tenderloin, Lamb Brisket, and Pork Belly. All were seasoned and spiced just right. I particularly enjoyed having the Beef Tenderloin and Lamb Brisket. For our 2nd batch of orders we had a Shareable (Shrimps, Sea Jellyfish, Cucumber, Preserved Eggs, and Peanuts w/ thick sweet vinaigrette) order which we were not able to finish and had to take home. That mixed veggie shareable was good to cleanse the palate, but was a little too sour to finish all in one seating. The rest of the order we had the Grilled Steamed Bun and then we tried to go more exotic by ordering Spicy Duck Tongue and Jumbo Bullfrog. I loved the Grilled Steamed Bun. It was seasoned right and toasted to perfection. The Jumbo Bullfrog had just enough meat on it to pick out and eat. The Duck Tongue might not be for everyone. There is not enough of the meaty, fleshy middle layer to eat, and then the rest of it is the 2 wide, bony protruding structures. We were seated at a good spot by the upper level overlooking the rest of the dining area. There was a server standing just behind us ready for requests and taking our orders. The overall dining experience is great, but can be a little pricey. Communication might sometimes be a small issue. Some servers default to speaking in Chinese and there are times where it can be tricky asking them to identify what was the food they just brought out.

Overall this place deserves 5 stars. It usually doesn't disappoint…read more I've been coming here for literally over 30 years. And the food is top notch. But I gave it 4 stars because of the experience yesterday. The food was substandard on this visit. I ordered 1. Jumbo seafood congee (taste was bland) 2. Grouper and tofu hot pot (best of all 4) 3. Black bean and beef Hofun (seriously lacking in quality) 4. Chinese dough fritters (awesome as always) I would say I was 50% satisfied with the meal. But I will be back as I said this place hardly disappoints and Even with this experience it's still an easy recommendation to come here I hope next time the quality is up to their old 30 year standards.

My childhood fave was the familiar taste of century egg and shredded pork congee which we often ate with 油条 a freshly fried dough. B17 - Shredded Pork & Preserved Egg Congee. Good value. Fast service. Always tasty. Congee Wong is generous with their soup ingredients compared to other congee restaurants. Popo and Gunggung's favourite soup was D9 - Shrimp Dumpling Noodle in Soup. Rice noodles were made right and they were not overcooked. They preferred it with a bit of gai lan. P72 - Vegetable with Oyster Sauce. The veggies were slightly overcooked but still edible. This establishment has been here for years. Some people might find the decor outdated but it holds special memories to many of us patrons.

My friend has been putting me onto so many food gems lately... So far I've been here twice. And I…read moredrive all the way here from Oakville. It's THAT good. Not only was the restaurant theme absolutely breathtaking (which was a huge surprise for being in an industrial area), the variety, flavors, and value were AMAZING. I really like the cordyceps flower, red date, and goji berry broth as my base, which is basically an elevated chick/pork broth. They have at least 10 other bases to choose from without and "premium" charge like other places. Classic sliced hotpot meats are ordered through their QR code menu, but mostly everything else is self serve. All I really eat off the ordering menu is beef belly so I get the rest of my proteins from the self serve buffet. They even have frog legs!! Which I'm still working up the courage to try but how often do you see that as an option for ayce?! For $29 +tax & included gratuity, they have a very large and high quality selection of food, as well as a large drink selection if you're feeling boozy of if you're into milk tea (additional cost), and pop is bottomless. They're also open until midnight, however they stop seating people past 10:30. Parking is validated for up to 4hrs in the complex's attached garage. I'd also like to note that this place is NOT halal or allergy friendly! Because of their self serve buffets it's really easy to cross-contaminate seafood, seed, and nut items. I also wish their seating was more comfortable, the chairs and benches are unpadded wood, which are beautiful but can be a little uncomfortable if you're staying for an extended period of time. Tbh the place and selection are just so big that if I went on about every little feature I'd probably max out the character limit for this review, lol. Just take a look at the pictures and videos I shared and you'll get a good idea of what to expect! 1000000/10 You won't regret coming here. ( )و
