Ube Milk Green Tea with Boba & Purple Rice and Baked Brie Cake Milk Tea
    Isabel O.

I've come here a lot with my partner and this is my favorite boba place in West Lafayette! The self-service kiosks are nice just because they have so many that you can always walk in and order without a wait. They make drinks super quickly and don't forget about their punch card! There's lots of seating but it's normally loud because of Purdue students so I tend to walk in, walk out. The boba here can be a hit or miss on sugar levels. I'd say you're safe to go 100% because they're NEVER too sweet (or even like...sweet), but earlier in October, we ordered a hot Ube milk tea at 100% sugar level and it tasted like drinking melted ice cream, way too sweet. Iced drinks should be fine though! I've never had issues with the pearls, they've always been a perfect amount of chewy. There are ENDLESS options here, my recommendations are the Ube Milk Green Tea (not super Ube but it's okay) and the Osmanthus Milk Tea. Definitely visit!

Ube Milk Green Tea - A clear plastic cup contains bubble tea with purple and white swirls, labeled as Ube Milk Green Tea with Bubble & Purple Rice. The cup has a yellow sealed lid with black text and a straw attached to the side. The drink appears to have a layered appearance with purple rice at the bottom and purple and white swirls throughout. The setting is a metallic table, with other drinks and a person in the background.

As a visitor from California, I did not have high expectations for finding good Asian delicacies near Purdue, especially after some events that happened my first night. However, I'm glad to have found Tsaocaa on my third day. On my first visit, I ordered a Hong Kong style milk tea. The tea tasted mature and savory - not too sweet. HK- style milk tea tends to be this flavor, and I was impressed that they were able to reproduce authentic HK-style milk tea as many places often over sweeten it even after a 50% sugar adjustment. On my second visit, I tried their special Ube iced milk drink with boba. Ube is special ingredient, and I think most boba shops carry taro because it is readily available as a powder and "easier" to mix into drinks. The ube ordered from Tsaochaa was beautifully drizzled around the cup, and pearls and red bean formed the foundation for the iced milk drink. I ordered this in 50% sweetness and less ice. Again, another perfect drink. On my third visit, I tried their 3 black milk tea without milk foam, since I am not a fan of foam. I laughed at myself for ordering it since it was like a regular milk tea, but again the drink was PERFECT at half sugar and less ice. Who knew that grass jelly, red bean, and boba would be delicious toppings for a well-made yet simple milk tea? I will for sure be returning before I fly home for California and am grateful to have found Tsaochaa which has helped ease some of my homesickness during my week at Purdue.

Great boba near Purdue campus! Convenient location and the drinks are pretty consistent in quality. There are soooo many different flavors to choose from! Sometimes the boba pearls can be really tough, making it somewhat impossible to chew. But there have been times when the boba pearls were a great texture. Unfortunately, the boba here can be hit or miss because of this. Otherwise, the drinks are satisfying and fulfill my boba cravings. I love the matcha, thai tea, and taro flavors. Inside is cute and has a good amount of seating. The self-order kiosk machines are also a nice touch. Overall, a classic boba spot to stop by after class and lots of yummy flavors to try.

This is some gourmet Bubble Tea. It was actually had to find regular boba. In fact, j didn't find it! But what I did find was pretty good. Fast service, excellent flavor and a wide variety. Order at the self service kiosks and your name will be called when it's ready. Lots of seating. Some food is available, I didn't try it. I will try it agai

Wasn't sure at first, but ended up having a great time studying! The shop is filled with book nooks and colorful plushies. I also liked that you order your food on a tablet and you can customize how much sugar content you want or things like that. Definitely worth trying :)

Lychee Smoothie - Two people are holding bubble tea drinks with pink-colored beverages in clear plastic cups with lids and straws. One person wears a black sleeve, and the other wears a gray sleeve. The drinks are held over a sidewalk with outdoor seating, including black tables and benches, and a street with cars passing by in the background. The scene is outdoors during daylight.

Best boba shop in town. Kind of pricey, but so it everything else nowadays. Boba is really good. Always come here when I'm near Chauncey. So much variety in terms of drinks, feel bad for the workers who have to make all of them. Cute vibes inside the place too.

The image shows a small ladybug resting on the surface of a light-colored liquid in a transparent container. The liquid appears smooth with some bubbles or foam near the edges. The container is partially visible, with a gray surface in the background.

Ordered delivery of the king of oolong milk tea and there was a bug sitting right on top. I mean how do you miss a bug sitting right on top of the milk tea... not sure how it happens

Refreshing bubble tea location in West Lafayette. I had the mango milk tea with boba here and it was excellent. Small location. They are socially distanced right now--the counter area is blocked off with tables, so they take your order a distance away. They took my order quickly and had it ready to go. It also looks like they offer up a punch card for frequent customers.

Fantastic better pick over Hi-Tea and La-Tea with fun atmosphere, friendly service, and typical indulgent menu options. They are missing alternative milks, really hoped for coconut and macadamia options especially with the higher prices there fancy teas call up around here. I had a rose tea that got me forgetting first world problems despite the easy access right on campus location still need to wonder over up or down to get outdoor seating.

Lychee smoothie with crystal pearls and milk foam

My friends and I love trying different bubble tea places and they were super excited to tell me that Tsaocaa just opened up a branch in West Lafayette! I've tried the Indianapolis branch so I was curious to see if there were any differences. The interior was decorated with such cute decor, with a big fluffy bear that greeted us at the door. There were a handful of tables near the middle and the back of the store, where many students were studying (there were lots of outlets lined up against the walls - a necessity as a college student!). The menu was a little overwhelming because of all the different choices. I went with the lychee smoothie with crystal pearls and milk foam. I've never had crystal pearls but they reminded me of harder balls of jelly, not too sweet which I liked. The milk foam was super good!! Probably one of the best that I've had so far. The flavor was balanced perfectly and wasn't overpowering the tea at all. I enjoyed the lychee smoothie, although it was a bit too icy for my taste. Only reason why I couldn't give Tsacoaa 5 stars is because the drinks are expensive. :( $6 for my drink is too pricy for me.

Lots of drink menu items and customization! Matcha bubble waffles were fresh and warm, super bingeable. Another popular spot for students and townies, but still relatively fast service (orders done by kiosk and drink making is pretty fast)

Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Strawberry Bubble Milk - A woman with glasses and dark, shoulder-length hair is seated at a table in a casual restaurant, holding two bubble tea drinks with tapioca pearls. She is making a peace sign with her right hand and smiling slightly. The table has a red wallet and a plastic bag with colorful items. In the background, a young man in a white t-shirt and shorts is standing, and other patrons are seated at tables. The setting appears to be a bubble tea shop or casual dining area with modern decor.

Great location with a diverse menu and tasty bubble tea at reasonable prices. Maybe not as much space as it should have considering the heavy traffic it has coming in and out but nevertheless. The Brown Sugar Milk Tea is delicious and the Strawberry one tastes like strawberry so if that's your cup of TEA hahaha I totally recommend. Their system for giving you your order though is wack. They just scream your name out and it's a loud, busy atmosphere so you might not even hear it if your not paying attention. Nevertheless. Delicious and affordable!

Lychee green tea with milk foam (75% sweetness) and Nata jellies
    Sally D.

BEST BOBA TEA EVER! I got the lychee green tea with milk foam (75% sweetness) and Nata jellies and...it was HEAVENLY! The saltiness in the foam was a great balance with the sweetness of the tea and there was enough to have some with every sip - so yummy! I wish I lived close by so I could go here everyday! Then again I may go broke spending all my money on bubble tea ^_^ it would be totally worth it though

Taro & Jasmine - Two bubble tea drinks in plastic cups with lids and straws are positioned on a white table. One drink is purple with black tapioca pearls at the bottom, and the other is pink with similar tapioca pearls. A small, decorative potted succulent plant with green leaves is also on the table. The background is blurred, indicating an indoor setting, likely a bubble tea shop.
