Here on a busy Sunday and the place is packed, which makes you feel like this place has got to be good when all the other restaurants around it aren't as busy. I would say it was kind of a let down. The food is pretty normal breakfast food, prices are ok, but the service was definitely lacking big time. Slow to take our orders, almost 30 min for our food, and a snooty waitress when we were nothing but courteous and nice. It was only when she gave us our check back that we finally got a smile. Usually I have a great experience at this place. Today was terrible. We were sat in the very back on the converted porch. I think our waitress Courtney forgot about us - waited over an hour for our food to make it to the table. Failed to toast my bread on my sandwhich. If it wasn't for the bus boy we would not have had drinks or condiments. We rarely saw our waitress. I don't know if we can come back after such horrible service. It took 2+ hours for brunch. I went there on a Sat morning w/a party of 10.It took almost an hour for our food to come out and only half of us ordered. We pretty much all got the 6.95 breakfast and I chose a burger because it was close to lunch. Denny's mushroom burger was wayyy better than their burger and cost less. Also I ran out of fries by the time I ate the first half. The kids menu was ok..and the place was clean and busy. I don't know if I would come back. Sometimes a 4 star experience, but more often it's a 3. Service can be pretty slow and inattentive and some days we have gone and it seems like everything is just off. I'm surprised the rating for T's is not higher. This is one of my "go to" places for lunch in Solana Beach. The tuna melt never lets me down. Coffee is great, and their breakfasts are very good, too. The service is pleasant, though the wait staff has occasionally been slow to bring the check. Highly recommend. read more

Last Saturday my husband son and I stopped by for breakfast. It was the worse service I have ever received in any type of restaurant. It took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive (after we asked 4 times) another 20 minutes for our food. After my husband told the manager about this, she just said "well it is the waitress first day on the floor, and we are really busy" Not even an I'm sorry! I am not by surprised by all of the negative reviews on Yelp about this restaurant. We had a horrible experience at T's Cafe' this weekend. We sat down on the patio and waited for almost 10 minutes for a server to even come out to the patio. I noticed that all of the other tables on the patio were being neglected too and the people were looking around with confused looks on their faces but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because the inside restaurant was busy I assumed they were working as fast as they could. Not so - even after the entire restaurant emptied out all of the tables on the patio still received horrible service. The server never brought our drinks, didn't bring out the side dishes with our entrees, didn't bring condiments even after we asked for them several times...it was almost comical how pathetic the service was. When a table next to me asked for the check as soon as their food was served the server rolled her eyes at them. At the end of our sub-par meal I had to go to the cashier and track down our check and ran into what looked like the manager. I tried to tell her how unhappy we were with our experience but she didn't even want to listen to me and immediately started making excuses for the poor service. She could have cared less that there were at least 5 tables on the patio that had just had the same horrible experience. All she cared about was getting us to pay our bills so she could collect our money. By the way, the bathroom was disgusting and made me wonder how clean the kitchen was...gross! This may have been a situation where the restaurant got caught understaffed on a busy weekend but after reading the other reviews on Yelp I doubt it. I will never go back to Ts Cafe' again....more because of the ambivalence of the staff than anything else. BEWARE! read more

Stopped in randomly with a friend whilst in the area. The menu is extensive, the prices quite reasonable, coffee is delicious, as is the food. There were hardly any people (late morning on a week day), which I loved, except the service was remarkably bad. Service horrible. Food cold when it arrived. Took forever to get to us. Server (Lindsay) would not even make eye contact with us so we could tell her. Never came to table. Finally asked one of the bus boys to heat it...had to say it in Spanish. My husband then sat without a plate for 15 minutes. Server saw...avoided table. Most would come to table and ask what happened..if there was anything she could do. No. I ate my full meal which was also lukewarm. Then his arrived. Then Lindsay came and said...everything ok? And by dj I mean they had a guy who had DJ equipment. No beat matching, scratching or any idea on how to keep the volume at an non-annoying volume. This place was a family favorite when I was younger, so much so, it was my grandmother's top choice for Mother's Day breakfast every year. Unfortunately, I didn't find much that matched those memories. I'm not sure if we had the same server these past two experiences, but given the time span of a year between visits I would be surprised if they kept somebody so inept. Our second to last visit we were told that we would be seated in 5 minutes. 15 minutes passes, multiple parties are seated immediately after walking in, I remind the hostess, and we are seated immediately without explanation. It was pretty busy, so I didn't have much of a problem with waiting another 15 minutes to speak to our server. After placing our order it took another 45 minutes to finally get the food. I considered writing a review at that time, but had such fond memories I figured it was an off day and I would give it another chance. The last time confirmed that our previous experience was not a fluke. Our coffee didn't come without a reminder and was never refilled. We asked for cholula, and it was delivered by our server to the table behind us, who had not even ordered yet. Lastly we never received the change we requested. Maybe she forgot and figured her service was worth a 25% tip. Seeing that she was not planning to return to our table, I finally asked the manager for our change, and explained to him our situation. He thanked us for our input, but failed to offer an apology. I have an obligation to state that the entire staff was very personable, and that I could possibly forgive some of the service if the food was great, but it was really mediocre at best. I had the chicken fried steak, which hardly compared to the same dish at the restaurant on Cedros right across the tracks. Also, I don't understand why the Bloody Mary is "world famous". The one I ordered was bland and watery. I felt like Buddy the Elf discovering the "World's Best Cup of Coffee". There are a few breakfast spots on Cedros which are much better than T's. You may have to wait a while to be seated, but the quality food and service make it completely worthwhile. read more

We came here Saturday morning for some all American breakfast. I found this place on Yelp, which I use on a regular basis during vacation time. This place is so cute and simple. They have that "welcome home" feel and everyone is very nice. Our waitress was super nice and attended us quickly. She always came to check up on us to make sure we were doing well. I ordered the crab Benedict with house potatoes which was so damn good! My husband ordered a simple breakfast, eggs, hash browns and sausage (which he was very happy with!) it's located on highway 101 across the train station in a cute little strip mall area. I have been to T's a handful of times, and every time it is delicious and you get your food very quickly. There is nothing worse than going into a restaurant and waiting for service when you are HUNGRY! I highly recommend this cafe to anyone who likes good food, and a cute atmosphere. With very few customers present it took our party of 3 over 30 minutes to get our meals which consisted of soup, salad and sandwiches. Great breakfast and lunch options. All fresh made and delicious. I have many favorites on the menu. T's has the absolute, hands down best Bloody Mary around! That is not an exaggeration. And the Manmosa is tops too. They sell their BM mix by the gallon if you want to buy it. The service is terrific but it does get crowded on weekends, and when the crowds are big the staff will get bogged down a little, but it is well worth it because the food and drinks are always consistent. This is the best breakfast in Solana Beach in my opinion. It's funny because lunch is delicious, though not as many people come for lunch during the week. Same menu, just less crowded. They are getting bigger TVs soon so better sports watching. When Pam is working at the bar I always have the best service. The staff is very nice. T's is a mainstay. read more

Absolutely love this place! Had a last minute difficulty with Claire's on Cedros and T's Cafe accommodated our party of 11 with no issues right away. I love the great variety of egg dishes. Every breakfast dish I've tried there was good. Unfortunately their salsa is among the worst ever. They should take a lesson from Potato Shack up the street in Encinitas and learn to make it right. My wife doesn't care for the place but I don't understand why. Reading the reviews just now was the first time that I knew that they had a liquor license. I've never seen any alcohol served there. We just left this place with immense dissatisfaction. Had to wait 35 min to be seated, more than 1 hour for the order to arrive and every single plate had something different than what we ordered. When we mentioned it to our waitress she got upset. We wanted to talk to the manager and she kept us waiting for 10 min and eventually we left without talking to her. I guess she did not care. Terrible customer service. The host was unwilling to accommodate our party of seven even though two tables next to each other could have easily been placed together. We had a hungry 8 year old and a toddler and they sat 4 or more other parties before us. We were told this was due to the tables belonging to two separate servers. Bad business practice.
