The hotel offers 24/7 room service which I planned on taking advantage of with a long day of sight seeing. At check in I didn't receive any VIP benefits like a complimentary breakfast or room upgrade which was the first disappointment but was nothing compared to their customer service. I tried calling room service at 10:30 pm, it rang for about 5 minutes but nobody answered. I called reception at 11 pm to see if they could help connect me or provide another extension, to which they responded that the kitchen was busy and they would call me back shortly. I waited 15 minutes then I walked down to the hotel restaurant where they told me it was closed but Fernando would take my order and have it sent to my room. An hour goes by so I called to check on my order, they said it was on its way. Another half hour until a server arrives to deliver a tray, and he drops it off and quickly leaves without opening the food cover. I lift the cover to find that it isn't what I ordered, so I call down to room service but they don't answer so I call the front desk. They advised the food I ordered was all out so they brought me something else and that the salad descriptions needed to be expanded upon. They showed no respect or common sense to call me to let me know that I would need to select another entree or that the word "salad" doesn't best describe the dish. I speak Spanish, I read the description in both languages so I am totally perplexed by their poor food description. They finally offered to make me something else, but I said I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half for food. They still charged me for the dinner after all of that. I contacted the hotel who offered to make accommodations for me the next time I visit instead of fixing things here and now. I obviously don't have any plans to return to Córdoba in the near future.

Great location across from train station and about a 20 min walk thru a nice park to the old city…read more While it was a basic hotel room as other reviews said, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They had mimosas at breakfast ! Not the staff, the breakfast choices. There was a bit of street noise starting at about 7 Am on a weekday on the second floor but we turned the fan on and that helped a lot. Our room faced away from the main entrance ( back side of hotel) and our side was quieter than the ones facing the Main Street. So if noise bugs you get the room facing the back.

The rooms are pretty basic - you have your beds, TV, closer, coffee machine, and bathroom needs. The hotel also has a fitness center in the basement as well as a nice lobby and full bar. Breakfast was continental here and was included in a package for just 10 extra euros for two of us. Options for breakfast included assorted breads and cereals, juice, Nespresso drinks, yogurt, etc. Our rate was around 110 euros for one night. Overall not bad and would not mind recommending this hotel to those that need a nice private stay in Córdoba close to the train. Highly recommend if you're thinking about taking an early morning train from Cordoba and want a place close by.

It would be nice if we've stayed in a 5 star hotel yet. The 1st thing I noticed, since we came in…read moreas a group, I could hear my neighbor's shoe click-clack (no he's not gay, it's just the type of shoes he wears) next door from us. The bathroom's tight, the door is right where the toilet is. The shower only have half a glass door, so my husband being taller than me, flooded the floor during his shower. The construction also left an old shower curtain metal slider and it was tacky. See photo on my profile, making the room looked very tacky!!! The room itself is quiet, you can't hear the neighbor's TV but you could hear someone using the bathroom upstairs (typical hotels most anywhere). Hubby and I tried to whisper, but I did warned my neighbor we tend to be noisy! He came in late, while we're already in bed asleep, and we could here his footsteps AGAIN, and that woke me up! Or that I was just a light sleeper? Our dinner . . . . 1st course we were served ratatouille. I've never had that before, I've seen the Disney movie version about a rat called Ratatouille, reminds me of this dish. It's got diced stewed zucchini, diced stewed tomatoes . . . it was very, very good. 2nd course was French fries and ham - like a chicken cordon blue - fried like a corn dog. We thought it was a corn dog, but it was ham! I thought it was childish. There were many Korean eating the same thing. This lady who was living in Oregon, who was born in Colombia didn't eat her food. She wanted salad and she'd rather starve than eat COOKED VEGETABLES. She left the table after we've eaten, hungry. She did went for ice cream. She already had ice cream chocolate bar dipped in chocolate and nuts, during our break, but she didn't have dinner tonight. For breakfast, the buffet tables had lettuce cut up for salad, sitting in cold water! Tomatoes, pastries, spanish sausages - reminds me of what Filipinos eat, yeah that type of sausages . . . and whole lot more. I was happy with that. There were lots of fresh fruits as well. With that, I'm adding an extra star! Oh wait! I'm taking one star out. . . I just remembered, the sink is pretty slow draining. I don't like water piling in, while I'm trying to brush my teeth and spit and there's a flood of water in the sink! We have free Wi-fi in the room, another reason why I'm able to send this review. One negative: NO wash clothes! I actually have to use a towel size just to wash my body & face, instead of a wash cloth. I didn't even bother asking, since they didn't have them in Madrid, and this is Cordoba, so I guess this is the Spanish style, they just don't use wash clothes here! We have a bidette! Liking that one, A LOT!!!!! And use that one a LOT! :)

I booked my room three…read moremonths in advance, but when I arrived, they told me there was a problem with the room's door and that they had to relocate us to another hotel from the same chain. That other hotel had noticeably worse ratings and was cheaper in price (their claim about the price there being higher is simply not true - you can check it yourself by googling price of Patios del Orfebre and Hospederia Luis de Gongora). The staff made no effort to offer a solution, discount, or even a sincere apology. They are saying that we willingly took a deal: that's not true, we didn't have any other choice, the lady just ultimately say: speak with booking yourselves. The lady at the reception was rude, completely unwilling to listen or try to resolve the issue. What made the situation even more frustrating was seeing other guests check out at that same moment (clearly, there were rooms available). And we have not arrived late, so if they wanted they could accomodate us first (according to our advanced booking and early check in - what would normal hotel do).Yet, despite my reservation being made so far ahead, we were turned away. When I contacted Booking, I never got a proper reply. The property later sent an explanation (six hours after our checkout) claiming the issue was due to "plumbing problems," which contradicted what they told us in person. Because of these inconsistencies, I strongly doubt there was any real room issue at all. It felt more like overbooking, or worse, something discriminatory since we come from a developing country. I would sincerely advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice. You might end up moved to a worse place without compensation, treated poorly, and have your trip completely ruined. P.S. Earlier this year, I stayed in another country where the door of my hotel room was actually broken by previous guests. The way the staff there handled the situation was respectful, caring, and proactive.
