From start to finish, my expectations were either fully met or exceeded. Their business name truly exemplifies their commitment, approach, conscientiousness and client service delivery: A-Plus all the way! In fact, they should change their name to A-Plus Plus Plus!!! I interviewed and received estimates from five independent roofing contractors prior to selecting A-Plus Roofing. They were neither lowest nor highest bidder. Chris, the principal, garnered my confidence from the outset. He was extremely responsive, prompt, forthright and utterly reliable. He was there for me EVERY step of the way. He never missed a beat. Throughout, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism, competence and integrity - a bone fide All-Star! Rarely, as a consumer, have I been afforded such excellence. He was here when he said he would be, counseled me through all stages of the process, afforded me a range of options - apprising me of the pro's & con's - and followed through with every single commitment - and more. He literally went above and beyond. The only credit I can take is making the right decision in choosing A-Plus Roofing & Construction - the rest was on autopilot. The entire job went as smooth as silk. No surprises, headaches, gotchas or detours whatsoever. High accolades are likewise due to Chris' crew. What an outstanding group of guys, all 12 of them! Working synergistically, they tore down my old roof and laid down my new 12-pitch, 60 square roof in a day, as promised! They arrived at 6:30 AM and worked until 9:00 PM in blistering, 100 degree North Carolina heat. Their workmanship was absolutely impeccable - no cut corners. Upon completion, they performed a positively thorough clean-up. My grounds looked better after they finished than before they started. What's more, early the next day, Chris returned to perform a final inspection and follow-through, making sure that ALL nails and EVERY scrap of debris was removed from my property. Hey, he had already been paid! Wow!!! What more can I say but - do yourself and YOUR new roof a favor: Go A-PLUS ALL THE WAY!!! (Thank you Chris & Tammy! I wish you continued success in all your future endeavors - "P.")

When they had their inspection on our home, my husband was home and followed their inspector around the house, the inspector, who never went on the roof or took drone video stated we had several nail pops and the roof needed replaced. The buyers were incorrectly stating they couldn't get insurance on the house unless we replaced the roof. We called one roofing company for an estimate and it came in at $20,000. The buyers called in Bumble Roofing Charlotte and their estimate came in at $21,000. We agreed that we would write a check at closing directly to Bumble Roofing Charlotte. The day before we moved, our realtor received a phone call from the buyers realtor stating that the cost of the roof went up to $25,000! Our Realtor called Bumble Roofing Charlotte to ask why the change in price after being quoted for the original cost for over three weeks? The representative from Bumble Roofing Charlotte told our Realtor "I'm going to be honest with you. The buyers realtor called us directly to see what we could do to bump the cost of the roof up to $25,0000"! Because we wanted out of that property, we agreed to it but that doesn't mean we are finished with this fraudulent transaction. If you want an honest, trustworthy company, Bumble Roofing Charlotte IS NOT FOR YOU! Beware as they are unethical and committed fraud.

I have waited a few months before posting this review to give me some time to calm down and write…read morerationally. I am only writing this review because I hope I can save someone else all the trouble I went through. I will try to keep this as brief as possible, but I could write for days about my experience. The salesman I originally met with was wonderful. He listened to my needs, and we put together a plan that fit my home base upon my budget. The original scope of work was to fully replace my gutters, fascia, vented soffit (my house is old and lacking on vented soffits), trim boarding, front door, and to add ridge vents to my roof. They offered a decent price that was a bit on the high side, but I figured that was fair because I wouldn't be managing the project through several different contractors. I work long hours in another trade so I knew I wouldn't have time to manage everything. The problems started on the first day of work. They decided to start with the gutters, soffit and trim. The scope of work was full replacement. I was able to get off early that day and made my way home to see their progress. The contract I had signed stated they would have a construction dumpster delivered to the property for waste disposal. When I arrived at home, there was no dumpster. I was confused for a moment but decided to watch them work for a while to understand what was going on. After watching them work for 20 mins, I quickly realized they were not following the scope of work I was sold. Instead of replacing everything, they were wrapping the original materials in metal flashing. They were also tacking vented soffits overtop my original soffit (completely rendering the new vents useless). I called a full stop to all work and got the project manager on the phone. After a lot of excuses about how they only replace rotted boards and this was the scope of work I was sold, I showed them the original emails between the salesman and I that stated everything was to be fully replaced. This changed their tune quickly. I inquired about the tacking of the new soffit over my existing soffit and was told that shouldn't have occurred. Since I had photo evidence of it occurring, I asked where the breakdown in communication was. I never got a satisfactory answer. I will never know whether it was the sub-contractor they hired or the project manager who directed this. At this point, I tried to reach out to their corporate office for assistance and met radio silence for weeks. When the customer service manager did finally call, he listened to my story and said he would get back to me. They never did. No matter how many times I called back. At this point, I should have cancelled the remaining projects but working as much as I do, I hoped it would work out. The work continued. While replacing the gutters and soffit, their subcontractors used ladders without padding and my hardy board siding was severely damaged. Hardy board is difficult/impossible to repair so I was livid. After several more conversations with the project manager, they were going to provide me with a quote to replace my siding. The first quote they sent over was outrageously high. I have a tiny house and the quote was well above the average pricing in my area. Eventually they relented and sent over a more reasonable quote. Still high for my area but not outrageous so I agreed to have them replace my siding. Another mistake on my part but being a first time homeowner, I was navigating uncharted waters. They provided a list of color choices and I was told to pick which suited me best. My first two choices "weren't available" so I had to go with my third choice. Doing my own research later, I found out that my first two choices had a higher material cost and believe that is why they denied them. All told, I was ready to move forward with one instruction, "Do not damage my prized lace leaf japanese maple at the front of my home." I have raised the tree for over a decade and it was my pride and joy. I bet you can see where this is going.... I came home during the siding install and over half of my tree's canopy had been damaged or destroyed. The tree is not large and could have been easily worked around with a little care. The project manager was on site when I discovered the damage, and I was so upset that I couldn't even speak to him. Trees are my vocation so I was quick to remind him the next day that I fully understood the laws around damaging a client's trees. To their credit, he took the situation seriously and discount my work by a hefty amount to cover the costs I would need to spend on tree repair/replacement. While I appreciate the gesture, I still am out the decade I spent caring and raising the tree. This isn't half of the review but they won't let me write any more characters. After my friend's recommendation, I called Blue Fox Roofing to inquire about an estimate for a complete roof replacement. During our initial conversation, I informed him that the company that was already working on other projects on my property was fully expected to handle the roofing as well. When I called, he assured me that he could do a better job and even offered to include some extras if I chose his company. I mentioned the other company and that my insurance would cover the new roof. I provided him with the insurance company's price for all roofing-related work. He was fine with this and expressed his willingness to complete the job immediately. Since he was a professional roofer, he assured me that the job would be done correctly. I provided him with all the details that the insurance company had given me, and he reiterated that he was the right person for the job. However, during our conversation with Jay, my wife signed a contract with the other company without knowing that I was seeking this alternative bid. Consequently, I found myself under contract with the other company. Jay informed me that I had three days to cancel that contract, and if I did, he could start the job immediately. After having several conversations with my wife, I decided to cancel the first contract. The next morning, I called Jay and left a message stating that the previous contract had been canceled and that we were ready to proceed with his company. I asked him to let me know what steps we needed to take to set the job start date. I did not hear from Jay for over six hours when I called him again and explained that I was ready to move forward with his company. To my surprise, he responded that there was no reason to return my first call because the job did not pay enough for him to be interested in it. He even suggested that if I could convince the insurance company to increase its payment, he would call me back. I was shocked and felt betrayed. Now, without a roofer, I had burned the first bridge and foolishly believed in his lies and deceitfulness. Today, I am without a roof or roofer, but I am determined to find a solution. However, I will never work with companies like Blue Fox Roofing, NC. I wanted to warn others about the potential pitfalls they may encounter when dealing with this company.

Of course the estimate was more than $2000 more than what the guy told us in person it would be when he came out. I called and Alex picked up immediately. Very polite on the phone and booked an appointment with him in two days. Alex arrived early, did a walk around the entire house, told me there were 2 additional areas that needed repair, he walked me outside and showed me the areas. I was sort of sick about additional areas that needed to be replaced but frankly I could see it and of course I didn't want rain water entering the house so I appreciated his keen eye on my issues. I also had a xeriscape rain barrel that I wanted hooked up to a downspout. This was done Tuesday (excellent job and added height to it to allow for better flow, innovative!) and today Thursday the main work was done and in a tidy manner and it looks great. Alex went up on the roof the first visit and took numerous pictures, diagnosed nails and missing shingles. This was awesome to show my husband all the pictures (roof is about 30 feet high and peaked so we cannot access). I highly recommend Alex and Charlotte Pro Roofing and the employees he had at my home working here (he supervised the entire job). Very professional, tidy, respectful of my questions. I even had had cobwebs that were unreachable that Alex removed for me. Now it doesn't look like a haunted house. A+++++++++++
