Until today, I had been happy with trugreen. However, the technician who showed up today to aerate my lawn made an a issue about moving a couple of pieces of furniture 2 feet in my driveway. My husband was out, I was in my pj's and he said it wasn't his job to move them. Then he said didn't I know he was coming to do the lawn? So I stepped outside in my pj's to move the furniture 2 feet but I admit I was very annoyed. He then said did I want someone else to do the. I was foolish enough to have TruGreen for 2 years at the full service package. My lawn is destroyed to the point where I need to scalp my entire yard and start anew. Despite cancelling them numerous times, they persisted to call me to renew my account and actually showed up twice to my home (after being cancelled) and applied service. They were kind enough to leave me an Invoice for the services I never asked for. Sketchy "continuing" yearly service that they don't remind you of, or even explain. They just show up and tell you this is how it is, and you get a bill for someone trespassing on your property. after several annoying calls they convinced me to go with a 6 month plan, they ruined my lawn, i have never had lawn care services in my life and my grass was always green by the time they were done it was brown, this fall something is tearing up my lawn with holes, did they plant grubs in my lawn or remove them as they claim, funny thing is never had a grub issue, they didnt stop harassing me for more services until i flat out told them NO in sept and that i would not be using their services again.. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars for this business. I was a happy customer last year and really liked the device they provided me, but have been harassed this year by them wanting to sell to me again. I have received no less then a dozen calls in the last two months to try and sell me a package, everyone saying no and asking to stop calling me, but they still persist. these people killed a fairly new healthy lawn in two months. The heat we have had is somewhat responsible, but every two weeks they fertilized the lawn and fertilized the lawn until its now black, dead. They also did nothing to kill the weeds which is the main reason we contracted with them. They are now impossible to contact to find out what can be done to get us back a lawn. Do not talk to these people. Once you sign up for their lawn care, what you are really signing up for is years of constant harassment and never-ending phone calls. They will call and call and call, and if you don't answer, they will show up at your house and treat your lawn without your consent and then try to bill you for it. Stay away! read more

I have signed up with TruGreen for a season primarily because our lawn is badly infested with weeds. Instead of spraying the weeds first, they applied a fertilizer. To no surprise the grass and weeds were growing like crazy, to the point of me having to mow the lawn twice a week. For 3 weeks and repeated phone calls they could not send someone to spray the weeds. When a technician finally arrived, it took him 7 (seven) minutes to spray a 1000 sq. ft. lawn (my husband timed him). To no surprise, spraying did not do a squat. Also, it is next to impossible to get through to customer service. Each time one has to wait about half an hour to get through. The agents are very keen on brainwashing you to stay with their company, promising immediate action, better service, etc. which never happens. They are a nightmare to deal with. Harassing phone calls on a daily basis to ask me if I have thought about further services, sub-par service, unreliable service, pricy service, what else to say. Stay away! Also, they will try to tell you that you did not cancel your service and continue charging you, when in fact, you did cancel. Ask for a written confirmation of the cancellation. WARNING- CAR DEALER TACTICS (Ottawa). So, TruGreen calls me (unsolicited), offers me a 6 visit grass fertilization/weed kill treatment including over-seeding. They confirm the sized of my lot and offer me a price. Of course if I pay up front they will reduce the price by 10%. I say no. Then then offer me the same 10% deal with 6 installment payments due after each visit. With a quick bit of math I realize that it would cost about the same if I did it myself.... so maybe with bulk buying they can lower their costs and provide said service at this price. I say 'ok' with a condition, they must call first and confirm before each visit. The next week I get a call and we confirm the date and time of visit and the size of my lot. On arrival, when the workman shows up he informs me that they miscalculated my lot size and need to increase the price.
