As I agreed to TruGreen Leland NC lawn service I was told I would get 6 treatments in the year - at least 2 mos apart. My first service was to be at 50% discount (I was billed at the discounted price) immediately after the first visit another application was made, I thought was part of the same first service and was immediately charged a full service cost. I told TG that was unfair as I was not told the second application was not part of the first and asked to be refunded the extra charge. They refused. I CANCELLED the service. Now, just 2 wks later and with no notice nor a knock on my door another agent showed up and I had to tell him to leave. TG would not take care of my issues. THIS US NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. AVOID TG service if you want honest service. read more

They always showed up for the applications but my lawn looks no different now than it did before they started. When I went to cancel service it was like talking to a time share salesman. Trugreen, lesson learned for prepaying for lawn and mosquitos service . I'm only into my second scheduled time lawn service from Trugreen and it has be rescheduled 3 times, first was suppose to be on 5/5/25, then 5/9/25 and now it is 5/14/25, with no communication. they just don't show up. i called customer service to see what is going on, and they have no answer. i actually had to go to Lowes home improvement to buy fertilizer and weed control. so with the money i saved from prepaying, i used it at Lowes to buy fertilizer/weed control, LOL. So with that said on their service for lawncare, lets move on to mosquitos control. i should have used the company from last year. I believe Trugreen dilutes it way to much to keep the mosquitos at bay for a month, heck i would be happy if it last half way through. I believe i am going to ask for a refund and go else where. i even called and texted the guy that said," call me anytime for problems", guess what, he don't answer nor reply to text. I'm no rocket scientist but i can figure out when i been scammed into believing a bigger company will do a better job, NOT SO. read more

I paid in advance for one full year. Ten months later the lawn looked about the same as the year prior. At my request, they came out and diagnosed multiple things, but wanted to be paid extra to handle the problems to get the results they guaranteed for the one year contract price. Their "guarantee" is not a guarantee. It means, that if you are not happy, you will get a free treatment. These folks use the same recipe for all yards, which, unfortunately does not work for all yards. If it does not, well, you lose. My neighbor does not pay for treatments and his yard looked better than mine. My recommendation is to use Scott's Weed and Feed in the spring with plenty of watering. You will save a bunch of money and avoid disappointment. read more

Deceitful Treatment Upsell. This review is directed to the Wilmington office Sales Representative Micheal K. Overall, I was very happy with each technician that came out to the house for the yard treatments, each technician was professional, courteous and thorough in performing the required applications. Those guys consistently get 5 stars. I cancelled my service as a result of the Sales Rep (Michael K) trying to falsely upsell us for treatments that were not needed or called out by the technicians. I expect companies to promote additional products, but not lying to me about a "necessary" treatment that he falsely claimed was an identified problem. First time- After a treatment about two months ago, he called (left message) me two days later citing the technician noted aphids on bushes out front. When I replied that the technician only noted (and recorded on his treatment sheet) that I had moles in the side yard. I said there must be a mistake as I also spoke to the technician whom never brought up the aphid issue, maybe you have the wrong address. The sales rep confirmed he had the right address and the aphid issue is correct as the technician would have had to enter the issue in a sperate system, therefore I have an aphid issue. Now suspicious of who this person realy is, and after a check of the bushes up front (no aphids) before I had called him back, I asked if he had my contact info, he did. I asked him to send the technicians documents to me before I consider another treatment. I'd like to see this separate technician document. The documents were never received. I wrote this off as a scammer I spent too much time talking to. A notification (call) was made to the Wilmington office. I moved on. Second time - On Saturday (July 19), My wife notes a car parking at the end of the driveway, male driver sits inside for about 7 minutes then walks up and rings the front door. As my wife went to the backyard to have me address the stranger at the door, he left. He left us a "TruGreen Tree and Shrub Care" yellow sheet in the door noting that we now had cankerworms and fungus (yard, bushes, who knows?). This determination was done without looking at anything in our yard as the house cams showed him only walking up the drive to the door. The sheet was filled out prior to getting out of the car. I immediately called Michael, whose name and phone number was on the sheet, to ask about the problems while we noted he didn't look at anything (other than his feet) as he walked up the driveway. I told him that due to these apparent deceitful attempts to upsell treatments, I've cancelled the Trugreen services. Michael did not even try to convince me of any legitimacy in his "work". Calling TruGreen Customer Service to cancel out the annual service was efficient; I'd give them 5 stars. Michael K, be careful if he contacts you. read more

The literal WORST. I called for a quote and bypassed the heavy closing sales person on the phone. Asked me if he could "speak to my husband" ... I reminded him it's not 1952 & I am more than capable of making a decision. What a joke. The next day I received 20 .... Yes , no exaggeration... 20 SALES CALLS . I was livid! How unprofessional! They were relentless. I finally told them FORGET IT... Nothing was worth the torture. All the phone numbers came from different sales agents too. My initial experience was not great due to communication issues with the staff and my inability to reach a manager. However, the Service Manager, Amadou Diob, has restored my confidence and he's doing a great job with my yard. He's been very attentive, applied organic fertilizer, fungus treatment and pest control. Tru Green did not live up to their word on a twelve month contract. We signed last year on Oct 19 th and started getting unauthorized Bills for service on July of this year. Our lawn truthfully looks worse than before they started. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

I was a customer for 3 years. I was in a new neighborhood, so my yard was in great shape when I started my service. My yard has deteriorated each year, to the point I have to cut my yard 2 times a week to hide the weeds. After they perform a service, I normally call them back in between because the weeds never go away. I called a lot, but never would the service manager reach out to me and try to make things right. The time I did ask a manager to come out, they sent a different service man out and he provided no insight why I had so many weeds. My neighbors yard was in bad shape last year, but he hired a local guy to take care of his yard. So I fired Trugreen and hired this new guy. He is more than Trugreen...but you know what they say? You get what you pay for. I would not recommend them to anyone read more

After two years of continuous service a 1/3 of my lawn is dead after it was suffocated by weeds! I told TruGreen I did not want to pay for services why they worked to correct the problem. I was told they can give me 25% off. After two years of continuous service I expect to have seen better results. I don't know if this is a case of gohsting but I do know the lawn should never been allowed to get to this point (managers words). I tried to work with them but paying 75% of the cost is outrageous when they made mistakes. I have attached photos of the lawn in different stages of the issue. When they call back my phone's anti spam service silences it. I miss the call. They've were prepaid for the season. They do not care whether they are providing the agreed upon service or not. Never use this service! You will never get rid of them. My grass did not improve in months with TruGreen, so I cancelled them. Now, FIVE YEARS after cancelling, I am still getting calls from them!! In spite of the fact that I have personally spoken several times with representatives asking to be removed from the call list, since March 3 alone I have received TWENTY-TWO sales calls on my cell phone... starting at 8:30 am. I am having the calls blocked now by Verizon but get notifications of the blocked calls. Do not sign on with these people. read more

I called and it was a telemarketing experience. Guy was working a script and trying to keep me on phone. Keep asking "lifestyle" crap questions about how I use my lawn, other lawns I have owned and how did I maintained them, etc cwhich were segues into selling you other services. After 20 mins said I gotta go, send me a proposal. Turns out it's 8 visits a year at $90 a visit. $3p discount if they keep your card on file. Getting a quote from a local guy. read more

We bought a house in the spring with a very nice landscaped yard. I wanted to hire someone to make sure I had no problems with weeds in the yard. After the second TruGreen application I noticed no weeds were dying. In fact a Japanese Clover was rapidly spreading. I called and asked for help. No one came out until 4 weeks later and several calls from me. I was promised they would fix it and get the weeds removed. Instead the next time a Tech came out he burned 2 holes in the front yard where there were no weeds. The Japanese Clover is still spreading. A kid with a backpack sprayer isn't going to properly cover a half acre landscape in less than 10 minutes. Worst customer service ever. Do not use TruGreen unless you just want to be upsold additional products and not receive the service you already paid for. read more

Save your hard earned money or spend it elsewhere! The salesman said all the right things except none of that came to pass. As soon as my husband made the payment the salesman and TrueGreen staff went MIA. TrueGreen is unresponsive to customer issues and whenever we call the local office (or even the national number) it takes 24 to 48 hours for True Green to return a call or send a tech. There is NEVER a manager that you can talk to despite me asking for a manager to contact me twice during "escalation". TrueGreen staff doesn't even call you back even after escalating and on two appointments to discuss the problems with the service nobody showed up at our house. We paid for the top tier package upfront and several weeks have passed and not one bit of work has been done to restore the bare areas in our yard. I am in the tedious process of requesting a refund as we have already missed the "Spring Treatments" as it's Summer now. A Total waste of money and extremely frustrating. Worst customer service ever and I have zero confidence in TrueGreen at this point. There are cheaper and better options opt there that will treat customers with respect.
