My husband and I are extremely disappointed with the service we received from TruGreen. Our backyard is now almost entirely dirt and despite repeatedly asking about seeding, nothing was done. Earlier in the season, your team told us that seeding would need to occur in October. When October arrived, we were given the impression that TruGreen would take care of it -- yet no action was taken. When my husband followed up in November, he was told that we "didn't order" the service. If an additional service was required to prevent our lawn from turning into 90% dirt and mud, why were we not clearly informed? We trusted TruGreen to improve our lawn and instead we were left with a yard in worse condition than when we started. We paid over $1,200 for what we believed would be comprehensive lawn care. In reality, all that was done was mosquito spraying and some weed prevention. I expected TruGreen to help keep our lawn healthy and green, but now there's no lawn at all. I had front and back full yard services for 2 years. My yard is the worst looking on the block it was better kept and always green when I was treating it myself. I switched to front yard service only due to artificial turf placed in the backyard for my child care but had to continue paying for front and back service. I only wish I could give zero stars. The worse company I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. I spent 49 min on the phone with a representative explaining my problems with dead spots and weeds (despite having routine service every quarter). He seemed very attentive and said he would have the specialist who was scheduled for the quarterly application knock on my door and I could talk to him about my issues. I stayed home from work to make sure I could talk to him. He never knocked on the door, the only reason I know he was there is there was a receipt on the door (I couldn't read it however as his printer must have been out of ink). I have called 3 times trying to talk to a supervisor to no avail. It's been 8 days now and the weeds and dead spots are worse than ever! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! read more

We used TruGreen for a number of years. At first, they were responsive & did a good job. Over the past 4 years or so, they don't even do the bare minimum. Our home yard has more weeds than there are out on our farm! We've had their manager out here on a couple of occasions with promises of better service and performance, but it never materialized. If they call you, there is no identifying name to let you know it's TruGreen. I don't answer calls that I don't know. Needless to say, we are no longer TruGreen clients. I started this venture with the intention of giving local business a nod and spending some extra money on our community. I requested the best service package from Trugreen at the beginning of 2021. I paid in advance and stood back to see what an established company could do. Here's what I got.... Wrong invoicing, wrong packages added, lawn technicians that are only motivated by bonuses for number of yards done in a day, hurried services ( 20 k yard, treated in 7 minutes ), lime stains on porches and patio, lawn tech on cell phone for 5 minutes standing in my yard......and weeds, I haven't mentioned how terrible the weeds are throughout my entire yard ( more weeds than ther is yard now. Schedules broken and empty responses from managers who can apologize with the best of them. Incredible Customer service support agents that are at the mercy of this terrible performance and whose jobs are in jeopardy because this can't be done even par standard. I had an "OK" lawn before I started this and will continue it on my own. After discussing the issue with the Manager, he assured me he would change how my shaded fescue was going to be treated and that they wouldn't treat it in the heat of the summer any more.. No matter what they say about their guarantee for positive results for lawn quality, it's just a waste. I got so many free visits because they swear their product will make a difference, but it never did. Never saw an improvement for my bermuda lawn quality. They aerated, fertilized, etc and still had thinned lawn in the backyard and tons of thatch. They even would send out their "best" to work their magic. No improvements. Over $700 later and several months of treatments, I finally cancelled because it as just a waste. I also got a call last week about fall services. I'm like are you kidding? I had to explain AGAIN why I cancelled and I won't spend another dime with them. Why am I still getting calls from them when I made it clear why I cancelled. I'm not angry. They basically lied to me. 3 different women told me 3 different stories about coming to spray for army worms. One told me they would come in 3 days. One told me they would come 7 days after my initial call and that it would be a free retreat and not a treatment for army worms and that they could request a special treatment but it would not happen for a "week or so". The last woman I talked with was clueless as the rest as to the urgency of prompt treatment of fall army worms. read more

I honestly wish I had never called and asked for a quote. I am disgusted by the aggressive sales tactics used by TruGreen. I called one Monday morning to ask for a quote for just treating my lawn for weeds and applying fertilizer. It took ten minutes of being told by the salesman how my lawn desperately needed the aeration and seeding to make it into a "brand new" lawn worthy of being "on a magazine cover" to finally get a price for just the weeds and fertilizer. Once he gave me this sky-high price and after hearing him belittle TruGreen's competitors, I decided I wasn't interested. Later in the afternoon, I got a phone call from another salesman following up with me. I told him that I had already expressed that I was no longer interested in TruGreen's services. The next morning, at about 8:30 AM when I was on my way to work, I got another phone call from a different salesperson. This was the first of four calls and text messages I got that day. On Wednesday, I received SIX phone calls and text messages from salespeople trying to sign me up. I finally had enough and called the Tulsa number to ask them to remove me from their system and stop the calls. They told me it would take 14 days(!!) to remove me from the call list and I'm still getting calls and text messages now four days later. Their salespeople are obnoxious and relentless. read more

I used TruGreen for 10 years and cancelled them today. I'm not sure what happened to their weed and fertilization products, but they no longer work. I have two properties and both are littered with weeds and my grass (Zoysia and Bermuda) is thin, patchy and looks unhealthy. They don't show up when they say they will. We called to cancel services. The woman we spoke to kept trying to get us to stay. We said no multiple times and finally said we were done after being on the phone for a very long tome with her. Two weeks later we get a call that they are going to come spray. We told them we already canceled. On the call notes, the woman said we didn't stay on the phone long enough to cancel. Absolutely false and ridiculous. Stay away from this company. read more

I have used TruGreen after they acquired LawnAmerica. Could not have a worse company. My lawn started looking bad shortly after the change and with Covid-19 and a chance to look at neighboring lawns serviced by TruGreen and others, I could see a significant difference. My lawn was full of weeds and two months after the pre-emergency and weed killer, the lawn was overrun with weeds. Switched to Lawnovations and they were shocked with my lawn and assessed there had not been any treatments on the lawn. They treated the lawn and two weeks later my lawn is essentially weed free. I had TruGreen and my yard has never looked worse. I pre-paid for a whole year and halfway through I called and said finish when I've already paid for and cancel my service. The only one in my backyard two or three times and when they were there you couldn't tell unless they leave a sign in your yard sale and they were there. At the end of the year I called again and canceled and they came back out to more times and wanted to bill me for it. I told him I wasn't paying the bill and that it was not approved and that I had canceled it. got out of hospital and received a phone call from true green . my lot is approx 13,000 sq ft front and back , since I just got out of hospital I was at kitchen table, guy did front yard in 15 minutes or less never going to back , called there customer service number because there no business number Red Flag on invoices said they would reschedule In next few days and I ask for a manager to call back. no response back called customer service again asking for refund since job was not done. they said they don't give a refund, also they don't knock on your door when starting and finished .really surprised there still in business , I would never recommend true green. they came out July 14 more professional 2 guys did front and back yard but didn't call or ring doorbell , sprayed for see if it works didn't work when they did only the front yard. read more

They try and sell you on a personalized experience but nothing could be further from the truth. I never had any consultation on my yard other than on the phone with a corporate guy in another state. To make things even worse the "Technician" can not be trusted to treat both the front and back yard. This happened early on where they treated my front yard and not the back but said they did. I was home to witness the first shenanigan. I called their main number and they convinced me to give them a second chance so I did. That lasted 2 treatments... I get home today and can easily see the granulated treatment done in the front yard but alas not a single grain in the back yard. I will say their products do work but that is not the issue, I simply cannot do business with a company I don't trust. If this technician is willing to lie about the work he does, what else is at risk in my yard and house? read more
