The office is easy to get to, there is parking, it is very clean, and the waiting area is very welcoming. This place is very beautiful in the inside. However, if you want results with laser hair removal this is not the place. The owner is very unprofessional I had an appointment today 3/3/2022 at 10:30 I received a text message saying my appointment was cancelled because I didn't fill out a form that is normally filled out right before you walk in for treatment. I've had 4 treatments and see no difference. I was told by one of the employees that they were having trouble with their laser machine and my appointment was changed twice due to the machine being repaired. I questioned why the laser was ice cold and I was told "a piece on the machine was replaced and when it's cold that means it's really working" that was a joke! I have zero improvement with my unwanted hair. I have a message m from the owner Jacquee who was super rude and I was very offended. From reading comments it appears she's reaching out to people behind the scenes when complaints are made. I told her as a business owner myself I would never be so callous and unprofessional especially when people such as myself is the reason her business is still around! If you want effective laser hair removal this is not the place. It's a waste of time and money!! On top of that if you're not the right color the disrespect and condescending statements are at an all time high!!! People please research before making a decision to have treatments here. I absolutely love it here! I have been getting laser hair removal treatments for a few years now and have never had a bad experience. I was surprised by how painless each of the treatments were, and booking appointments is super convenient. Both of the owners are extremely friendly and make each appointment truly enjoyable! I always look forward to my appointments because you can tell they genuinely care about their clients experience. Regarding my results, some areas definitely took longer than others, but that is expected at any laser salon. I have not shaved my armpits in 4 weeks and I can happily share they are 100% hair-free and the smoothest they have ever been! I love True Skin! Thank you for a great experience. The ambiance is very ethnic/asian/calming/high-end spa. They are so friendly and nice. I bought a groupon for 6 laser hair removal treatments and used it on my armpits. It was not painful, mostly because of the machine's cooling tip which cools the area as it removes the hair. If I needed a break, I just told her and she stopped to let me take a deep breath (but this was very rare). She was very friendly and we talked during the process which took my mind off of the treatment and it was over before I knew it. Now I shave about once every 7-10 days and even then the hair has only grown a tiny bit, which I consider to be a huge success. I don't even take a razor on vacation! I had a very bad experience at another place in Philly and was hesitant to buy more treatments, but the owner assured me that I would have a good experience there, and I did! Thank you so much for being such a professional, caring, and calming establishment! Make sure that you arrive on time/early because it is a small business and they are busy and keep to their schedule. I never had to wait. This is an update since my last review. Since then the salon gave me a few extra treatments of laser because I didn't have great results. I have had 12 or 13 treatments now. Its been a few months now since my last treatment. I am unhappy to report that not only if my hair not gone but it looks the same as it did after my initial 6 treatments. I will say it thinner but I still have a lot to the point where I have to shave several times a week to be hair free. It's very discouraging because it cost so much money. The salon itself is very clean and the staff is very professional. It's easy to make appointments and they are flexible. However if each treatment is supposed to kill 10% of active hair as claimed then my hair should be gone. read more

I used a groupon to get a facial at True Skin - I love that they have an online scheduling system. The facility itself is small, but it's really well designed. The owner is really nice, and she did my facial. She was very gentle and took her time and always made sure I was okay. The only reason why i'm not giving all 5 stars is because I love when I get a shoulder neck massage while a mask dries like with all my other facials. Instead I got a hand and foot massage which was okay. But it was a great facial. I'm currently on a medication that makes me breakout and my face looked 100 times better when I left, and never had any redness, dryness, and a few days later, my skin still looks great! read more

I was really excited to receive a treatment by this company. But I never made it that far. Upon making an appointment over the phone for a IPL/fractional laser service, I was told that everything had to be paid immediately. As an esthetician myself, I've never heard of that. When I questioned the policy, she put me on hold and said they would override it. While this may or may not be a reputable business, this turned me off and raised red flags. Shouldn't my skin be looked at first to even see if I'm a candidate for this treatment? And why would a business charge for a service that has not been performed? I never wrote any review, but today after my appt I have no other choice. I've been going to True Skin since past year, I bought a few packages of laser hair removal, I think I had almost 10 treatments of laser hair removal, I do see difference, but I felt like the estheticians never gave me enough care, and they were always in a rush! They usually spend less than 10 mins to do it. Today I was treated for a dif esthetician and I could see the big difference, she asked me exactly what were the areas that I have big problems, I know it's a very simple question, but it's something the others estheticians never bother to ask, she took 30 minutes to treat me, 30 mins while the others take less than 10 and are always in a rush, what really annoys me because I always get at the spa at least 10 mins earlier than my appt is scheduled. Wish I could have the choice to be treat for the same one, since it was the only one who really show to be very professional and cared about my treatment. I also had 2 IPL at the spa, and now I have wrinkles all over my face! I never, NEVER had wrinkles over my face, and after the IPL I called then to talk about it and she told me to give it time, I gave it time and on my next appt I showed them how my face is looking and she looked at me saying it gets worse before gets better as I was an idiot, how will all the wrinkles get better? I'd never recommend IPL to anyone, the way I feel w wrinkles all over my face is something I do not wish to anyone. FINALLY a laser spa that doesn't empty your pockets while also providing almost painless treatment for hair removal. Quite a miracle. Staff is amazing; everyone is so kind and patient given some treatments are a little more uncomfortable than others so more time needs to be taken for breaks. So , normally I don't write reviews on anything , but I have to express how disappointed I am . I had 6 treatments on my underarms and Brazilian and I have absolutely NO hair loss . None . I am well aware that it will take more than 6 sessions to be hair free but I have NO hair loss at all . With 6 treatments I technically should have 50-60% hair loss . My hair in these areas is coarse and I suffer from ingrown hairs which is why I wanted to lessen the hair . I will say the staff was very nice and always on time with my appointments. I felt a bit skeptical starting the laser because there was no consultation done to see if I was a good candidate for laser . I am so disappointed because it was a complete waste of $600 plus a $20 tip every time . read more

This is a really lovely laser spa and I couldn't be happier with my results! The staff are funny and sweet and there is a general good vibe about the place. My main esthetician was Zoe and she did an immaculate job with my sessions. Their owner Lisa personally helps with scheduling and they have convenient after work and weekend hours. I have been a client here for about 2 years and went with the Soprano XL laser treatments- one package and a second for touchups. Remember if your hormones are fluctuating (pregnancy/weight loss/gain), follicles can regrow. I see this as a permanent service for reduction but with occasional maintenance still recommended for perfection. Regardless, it beats the heck out of waxing and shaving. The areas are soft and smooth, the skin texture changes to that of your inner wrist. If you tan, I'm not sure I'd recommend treatment for those areas that see sun. Results are most drastic on paler skin with coarser hair, though the laser is adjustable. Please research the location that you choose as well as the procedures and ask questions. I believe in being a well-educated consumer and there are more risks inherent in certain cosmetic improvements. Ps Also, love the decor! It's like a little tucked-away beauty haven. Park on the side road and walk up, they only have two spots outside the door. read more

This is the coolest spa. I have been getting so many compliments on my tan! and I'm telling everyone about it. I got an instant tan and I am darker and more fully tan than I have ever been in a tanning booth and I always worried about getting cancer in a booth. I received an instant tan in about 10 or 15 minutes - it was really affordable and it was Fun! If you haven't tried this I would highly recommend it - the staff here is really nice and when you go inside it's beautiful - very 'high end' but it was very, very affordable. read more

I purchased a Groupon for underarm hair removal for a VERY good deal. I had been getting my underarms waxed for the past few years, but I figured I could get a set of 6 laser treatments for the price of a year's worth of waxing service. Seemed like a good call. Well, I had my 5th treatment today, and my hair is practically all gone. I'm talking, shave once every few weeks, and only for the few sparse hairs that you can barely see, gone (and that was after only 4 treatments!). Before this, I absolutely HATED shaving - I'm talking HATE - due to how sensitive my underarms are, which is why I was doing waxing. And, even when I shaved (which could NOT be even close to every day), my underarms were never totally smooth and white (and I envied others' smooth pits). Well, guess what, I have those luxurious underarms now! It is amazing. Now I will tell you that the technician did say that I am basically a primo candidate since my hair is rather dark and my skin rather light. But, I could not have asked for a better result after less than 6 treatments. In fact, I"m probably going to get my bikini done next. The only (nitpicky) negative about this place is that it is kind of hard to find the first time, and parking is pretty tough. But, really, its totally worth that minor issue. Oh, and they have a really great email appointment reminder system, which I found to be very helpful. I've been for skin/facial work 3 times. It's a great little spot. Comfy and intimate, and personal. It doesn't feel sterile and formal like some other salons. Everyone is pleasant, welcoming & down to earth. So, the atmosphere is great. I've had two facials and one micro-derm. Facials were with the owner, Jacquee and she was great - well informed about the products and helpful about them but didn't push products. Micro-derm was with Geri. I didn't love my skin's response to the micro-derm, but I think that was about my skin and not the quality of the service at all. Each time I went for facial work, the mini-massages I got as part of the facials were incredible. I'll be going back to Jacquee for facials, and will be booking Geri for massages, just based on the mini massage during the facial. I'm also looking forward to booking other services, based on the confidence the previous services/quality I've gotten. So far I bought 4 packages at True Skin. I am on my 2nd package for underarms. Though I have just fine, stray hairs, the treatment doesn't seem to be effective because there is no hair reduction from one treatment to the next. I don't understand, during my first package of 6, I was seeing measurable results every time. Also, I am on my 2nd Brazilian, and again, I am not seeing any visible improvements at all. Again, I have very little hair left to treat, but there is no decline in hair growth. I am noticing that in this area, the technicians are not thorough at all- possibly because of the embarrassing location. At other salons, the technicians were very thorough and covered a wider area, here they just focus on the area that are easier to reach. I initially gave this place 5 stars, due to their professionalism and convenience, but have reduced to 2, because the owners no longer perform treatments and the new technicians are not as thorough. read more

I began my hairless journey by buying a Groupon for True Skin. They have some of the best prices around and are always running some type of special. I got 12 treatments each (which is recommended) for underarms, Brazilian and upper lip. I thought after 12 treatments and all of the money and time I spent on each area after the initial Groupon that I would be hair free but not so. I am a perfect candidate for the treatments as I'm fair skinned with dark, course hair. The upper lip is extremely stubborn and I know a few folks have trouble with it but I should still be in a better spot than I am today. I don't just have a few hairs in all areas that I can count too. I think the problem lies in the staff and the different way I was treated every time. I don't believe I got my money's worth. Now I know that the technician can't always be the same but I saw sooo many different girls treat me and it was different every time. Seems like a revolving door there and I had one technician tell me at one point that "we just had a lot of turnover and got rid of some girls that needed to go." They obviously had girls treating patients the wrong way and at my expense. I got different opinions each time I went and sometimes the laser was way too hot or didn't seem like they were treating me at all. I even had less of an area treated at times. I even had one technician ask me why they had treated me on a low setting the last time I was there. How am I to know, I'm paying for the expertise. At one appt, I had a technician sell me an upgrade and the next time I came in, they wouldn't honor it and said she gave me the wrong price and I owed more money. There are a number of weeks between appointments and not once did anyone call me in between to discuss. The only time I was contacted was to move appointments around constantly. I referred a friend here as well and they were treating her dark skin at the wrong level. I really wanted to have faith that it would all work out so kept going to use up my packages. I am now done and still shaving. I am moving so have to find a better place that will finish up the job completely. Really sad that it didn't work out and upset I spent over a thousand dollars to not be hair free. I have been to this place for almost 2 years. Bought all these laser hair treatments and never been informed of the VIP reward program. Some technicians were always in a rush. Also it seem like the phone doesn't work. Always have to leave a message. I called on March 12 and left a message about my interest on their weight loss program but I still haven't received any call back. It was the WORST experience of my life in customer service. DO NOT go here. I bought the groupon for laser hair removal for one area and when I went to my first session, was sold on "buying multiple other areas at groupon prices" and spent about $1000 for areas that would take about 2.5 hours to treat per treatment. EVERY time that I went (three times total), they "accidentally" reduced my time to less than an hour. The technician tried to say, "well, we will do it quickly" as an excuse and solution to their mess-ups in scheduling. When I refused and wanted a new appt with ALL the time needed, rescheduling was a nightmare and never happened. I finally reported them to the Better Business Bureau and a received an immediate call from the owners who guaranteed that I would "get a full refund" but they never followed through and gave the refund. I STILL have the voice mail from the Owner agreeing to it. $1000 is a lot of money and I am disgusted with their business practices. They know that I am a busy professional and don't have time to chase after them. Trust me, I have never written a review on yelp but had to do it today. DO not go to this place. read more
