Excellent Biblical preaching. Also many opportunities to be taught on how to apply the Bible to your life. A few characteristics that have stood out to me is how focused True Life is on building community and relationships and caring for and serving one another. There are two things I love most about True Life (there are a lot of other things too, but these are the main ones)... 1, the number of young families and the friends for my children. I love my children will grow up around friends that are taught the same values that they are. In a culture that is so anti-God and anti-Bible, I want my children to have like minded friends. 2, the preaching. I have grown so much under Caleb's preaching, and his sermons are not all sunshine and rainbows. He brings the truth in love and sincerity; sometimes it is hard to hear, but it is so necessary for growth. read more

I have been part of True Life for 5 years now. We moved to the Denver area in May 2020 and tried a few churches. It was a struggle then more than usual because of COVID. We had service outside and people introduced themselves and invited us to lunch immediately. We were plugged in to a community group pretty quickly so that we could actually live out our Christian life with others outside of 90 minutes on a Sunday morning. Those people have become great friends, helped us through tough times and I now consider them family! It is a great community with sound biblical teaching and multiple opportunities for growth and ways to put your faith to action! I couldn't recommend trying out True Life more! It has changed my families life! read more

Wow, love this church. My wife and I started going here pretty close to when it started in early 2014. It's been a true joy watching the community grow in number and in discipleship. We have made innumerable friends here who we will certainly have for the rest of our lives, and the number keeps growing as new people come in. They have been a constant support during some pretty brutal times my wife and I have walked through, and shared the best of times with us as well. The teaching is biblical and gospel centered. The people are inclusive and diverse. The life of the community extends throughout the whole week as a growing love and devotion to Jesus moves our faith to affect all of our lives rather than just Sunday morning. If you are looking for life changing friends and community, and want to grow in love and devotion to Jesus, I highly recommend True Life. Real community is always a mix of wonderful and hard, and it's always 100% worth the time and effort. I recommend you come and find it here. read more

I am so grateful to have found True Life! From the first day we walked into the church, we were welcomed with open arms and felt like family very quickly. Not only has this church helped me and my family deepen our relationship with Jesus, we have also made new friends that we hope to keep for the rest of our lives. My husband and I love this church so much. This is a no frills church, but they preach the gospel which is the most important thing! The music is also simple but amazing. You can tell the people genuinely love Jesus and community is important to them. read more

I moved to Denver from Austin and was looking for a church that was going to be a "home." Well, I found a HOME! The people here are life giving and have provided me with real, deep community and family I never knew I was missing. I have enjoyed growing in my walk with Jesus because of the classes, the Biblical teaching, the fellowship, and the community I have here. The pastor is truly the best pastor I have ever been under- the teaching he brings is absolutely TRUTH and the WORD. He is humorous, kind, honest, real, transparent and brings IT weekly. You will not be disappointed in coming to this church and even becoming a member. I LOVE this church and plan to worship and grow here with True Life until the Lord calls me home. My wife and I found this church on Google after looking for churches near us. We've checked out some of the others in the area but the people here are what forced us to call it home. The church focuses on welcoming people and bringing life and life to the full to everyone they interact with. There's a heavy emphasis on the transformative power of Jesus through authentic friendships that arise as an extension of the church through community groups, life transformation groups, or just hanging out. The preaching and worship are always awesome and relevant - I love it there! read more

My husband and I found True Life on Yelp when we first moved to Denver from the East Coast in 2018 and I am so happy we did. True Life is a young, community driven, Acts 29 based church that welcomes you with wide open arms from the second you walk in the door. With community activities such as ladies/men's nights, worship nights, community lunches and more, we have made some amazing friends that have truly impacted our lives! Amazing church in Arvada! Super friendly people and easy to make friends, join a community group, find people to hang out with etc. The sermons are awesome, gospel centered and focused on actually helping you grow in your faith. Love this church so much! We started going here in 2015 after we moved to Denver from Las Vegas. We were blown away by the friendship that was extended to us instantly. We have never experienced the kinds of relationships and community like we have at True Life. I would highly recommend this church to anyone who is new to Denver, new to church, or just looking for people to accept them for where they are! read more

We found this church when we moved to Denver and have truly been shaped by this wonderful community. This church helped make Denver our home - from the message each week to spending time with one another outside of church. True Life has been welcoming and loving since the first service I attended. It has become my family and I look forward to attending or listening to service each week. I have learned SO much about God's love and grace and how to follow Jesus. I have learned though sermons, by the compassion and generosity of community groups and enjoy having my own small group too that provides me with guidance and comfort. Authentic fallible people discovering together what is so great about Jesus, and wanting others to discover the same, especially those who have given up on church and those who suspect there has to be something better than just following a bunch of rules. It has been many of these ministries that I am grateful to have been able to experience. From what I can tell, there are not many churches that are able to offer what they offer, and that's not only an amazing feat but also a great service to the community. Some of the ministries that I've been able to participate in have included small groups (marriage mainly), special events (such as Israel Awareness Day), performance ministries (namely the Passion production each Easter and their Christmas productions), to name a few. Faith Bible Chapel has been a staple in the West Arvada area for many decades now, and in the past year or so there have been some changes that have taken place. Which is partly for the reason for this updated review. Namely, the senior pastor position, going from George Morrison to Jason King. Pastor Morrison helmed the role for over thirty years and my wife's family has been positively affected by his leadership since the early 1990's. His personal story of redemption is very powerful and I am fortunate enough to have heard his story before he stepped down. If anything, under the leadership of Pastor Jason the church's efforts has been focused. From what I can tell, many of what was offered before is still in effect just there's been a re-emphasis placed on what they do as a church, and one of the items that appears to be getting a big boost is the building up of small groups. This is just one thing I've noticed as of late. I've also recently listened to a sermon series on Relationships by Pastor Jason, as recommended by my mother-in-law. In it were some hard truths that people of the Christian Faith should hear. We (as a world) have gracious been offered God's grace, but with it there is His truth as well. Together, though, those two things are very powerful (Grace & Truth), which we as followers need to hear from time to time. I may have my home church elsewhere, but I am glad to call this place a second home. I know there are a handful of items that I am missing, but I would recommend people giving the church a try. It can be easy to get lost in a church this size, but with some intentionality it is almost just as easy to find a small group to build community with.

The evening service starts off with a time of worship, followed by a community meal, and then onto the teaching segment. The worship band is never "flashy", which adds to the charm and humble nature of this church. Pastor Mike's teaching is from the heart and is easy to understand. Scum's church building is at 9th and Kalamath. It is from the late 1800's and was shut down by Denver's code enforcement. Scum isn't having financial problems as the other reviewer mentioned; but when the city closes your doors after being in a building for a couple of years, then there is a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars to reopen those doors - yes, there will be some need for donations. Currently services are being held at other locations in Denver. In fact the money that churchgoers give regularly is invested back into the community in the form of homeless outreach, and other neighborhood projects. The staff raises their own support. I have been attending True Life since 2019, and I can't say enough good things about this wonderful representation of the body of Christ. The preaching is on point, biblical, and never boring. The worship is beautiful, and not all about the "show". The kids ministry is fun and engaging. And the people a kind, caring, and welcoming. When I first tried this church, I was immediately welcomed and got plugged in to events, community groups, and small groups. It's not just friendliness- people really wanted to get to know me!
