CASUAL: Dress Code is weekend casual, formal attire isn't expected. CONTEMPORARY: Bible-based teachings apply WISDOM & DISCERNMENT strategies to better cope & thrive through modern-day challenges. CHRISTian: Emphasis is on the Teachings of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and the New Covenant. The Journey Church promotes the LIFE, LIGHT, TRUTH and WAY that is GOD's LOVE through its Pastors, staff, volunteers and congregants. In a nutshell, this isn't your mama's or grandma's typical traditional church. This church atmosphere is JOYFUL, MOTIVATIONAL and INSTRUCTIONAL! It takes a HIGHER GROUND in contrast to the negative aspects of many mainstream churches that put off a lot of people--it's definitely not somber, discouraging or impractical. * I've been attending The Journey since 2014 and through firsthand experience it's a church in touch with 'LIFE's JOURNEY' and embraces people at whatever level we are at in our SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT. * I recommend The Journey Church-Queens, NYC to all my relations--friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. because BEING here is much like when you encounter a delightful restaurant/service experience--you are thoroughly satisfied & want to tell everyone about it to spread THE GOOD NEWS, because CARING is SHARING! * If you want to make a positive difference in your neighborhood and beyond, this church provides plenty of VOLUNTEER and COMMUNITY outreach opportunities. * As of this posting, I've observed that several surrounding churches are now imitating the BEST PRACTICES of The Journey Church since it continues to grow and establish itself as a PILLAR IN THE COMMUNITY! +++ Matthew 25:32 +++ Acts 2:46 +++ Proverbs 18:20 (NLT)

Amazing service!!! I…read morehave been looking for a church in the Forest Hills / Kew Gardens area that I can call home for several years now. I usually travel all the way to Times Square Church in Manhattan. I believe that when you go to church you should learn something and feel like when you leave, you take something with you that can help you in your christian walk. I went to Grace Baptist Church for the first time today, Sunday, September 6th, 2015 and I must say I was truly moved by Sr. Pastor Tim Richmond's sermon. While Time Square Church also gives me an amazing feeling, Grace Baptist Church made me feel more a part of the community because it is substantially smaller than Times Square Church. I love the feeling that I can be held a little accountable because I'm not just another face in the audience. Without making this too long, I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a church they can call home try this place.

Original Date: 8.31.2018…read more Yesterday afternoon I attended my very, very first church wedding ceremony for my beautiful friend who I know for 8 years. I was very early and rang the bell for 110-06 turned out it was the church's office. The church staff told me that the main entrance of the church for the wedding ceremony is on Ascan Ave. Also, I asked if my dad can park in the parking lot because it will be difficult to find because we are the strip of Austin Street. My dad waited in the parking lot while I attended my friend's wedding. Why am I giving 3 stars because during the ceremony...all the wedding guests can hear lawn mowing outside of the church grounds. I really hope the videographer can do his magic to remove or cover over that sound. Wow to the person whose phone kept going off then holding a conversation for 5 seconds. You can show some respect for my friends special moment as we witnessed their holy matrimony. I actually had to Google what does receiving a line from the Bride and Groom because this was my very first church wedding ceremony for over a decade. As we hugged the bride + groom + their family then everyone waited outside. Blowing bubbles was the more modern and fun way than throwing rice to congratulate the newlyweds. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Morgan!

Right before the service started a woman with a mask came over to me and stated she wanted my name and number for contact tracing Covid (no she didn't work for the CDC) . He proceeded to yell at the Usher woman and tell her to put her mask on. I thought that was very rude and mean before I left. It was a horrible beginning in my first attempt to go back to church after Covid. Sad day for me. ALL the other people were kind & loving!

Serving my maximum time as an altar boy gave me the opportunity to speak to of our parish priests --- as ordinary people --- not just figures of The Cloth that deliver their 45 min weekly message. The years spent as an older parishioner gave me, mostlpriests sermons, a good understanding of doctrinal and theological concepts and how they relate today. I think it is an important concept regarding spreading the work of the continuing presence of Jesus on earth, and what better place to have that information spread then within the walls of your home parish. There has always been a focus within the daily masses and in the weekly bulletin, regarding praying for sick, as well as for the poor and the afflicted. The heavy emphasis on the corporal works of mercy and the spiritual works of mercy which is at the very root of Christianity, is the message I typically leave mass with, helping your fellow man. ~More content to be added shortly.

Most of all, I'm a big fan of Father Tom. His sermons can get a bit dense and sometimes I have to really pay attention to follow his intellectually challenging path--but that's a good thing. Tom doesn't talk down to us, nor does he "preach" in the sense of finger-wagging Thou Shalts; instead, he invites us to look deeper into what our faith means, how it is revealed in scripture and discussed in the writings of Christian thinkers. The adult education/spirituality groups are well run, thought provoking, and conducive to a better understanding of the Episcopal Church and its take on Christian teaching.
