I went to SKIN because a friend recommended it. So, I got myself and my boyfriend a hydra facial…read more(skin hydra, I believe) for his birthday using the spas website. First of all, the website is beautiful and easy to navigate. So, first things first, the med spa is beautiful. It's Located inside of a little warehouse and they even put a happy birthday sign in the front which made us feel so special! The staff was very hospitable and accommodating, offered us coffee and water when we got there. They were all wearing masks and gloves, hand sanitizer is visibly on display, and social distancing guidelines were being followed by the staff. Also, you HAVE to check out the bathroom hahaha it was epic! It's completely covered in gold glitter and even the toilet is gold, hahaha! Great touch.
So, the facials. I've never really been into facials, so I didn't know what to expect but it was a great experience! Again, Caleb and his staff are very professional and informative. I suffer from some sort of dermatitis where patches of my skin get red, dry and itchy but hydrocortizone takes care of it in a day or so. However, i went to the spa during a flareup but Stephen, my aesthetician was careful with my skin, acknowledging my condition and reminding me to hydrate (thanks Stephen). The ambience was great, the music was great and the facial felt so good!!!! Afterwards my skin felt and looked so clear! I know its my face but i felt like i could breathe again, I don't know how to explain it but when you do it you will know!!!!! Caleb recommended a soap for sensitive skin and i bought it and used it that night (which I don't think i was supposed to do) but OMG when i washed my face my skin was SO soft and smooth--like baby skin!!!!!!! It feels so good! My friend even commented that my boyfriend and I looked like we were glowing.
So i made an appointment for next month because the prices are great and I know that you get more noticeable results with consistency of treatments (although one was phenomenal) SKN offers these really good and affordable monthly memberships that include 1 monthly facial, or peel, and a discount for additional treatments. I will most likely be signing up when i go back in February 2021. And definitely giving out services for people's birthdays because it is a great thing that i would not have done for myself but I am ultimately glad that I did. My Dermatitis is still a little red but not as bad as it was yesterday so i will be doing my little dab of hydrocortisone, but everything else looks flawless.
Side note: I do my little Kiel's mask once a week but i also work out regularly and my pores get really dirty so Kiel's wasn't cutting it anymore. After my workout and run on Monday my face started itching and burning. I read online that its because my sweat glands were clogged so the sweat can't get out, gets backed up and causes this dry, hot and itchy feeling (and wearing a mask doesn't help). I know i am throwing webmd into this but the explanation made sense to me. So, I went to the gym today, Wednesday, after my hydrafacial on Tuesday and guess who's face didn't itch and burn?!?!?! MINE!! Thank you Caleb and Stephen!!!!!!!!!
