Truly one of my favorite coffee shops ever. My friends and I love coffee and Tru Bru never disappoints. The vibe is totally a college vibe on the weekdays and a cool local vibe on the weekends. Here are a few things that I recommend: 1. You must try their iced chai. And if you like espresso you NEED to try their Dirty Chai. I mean it's just delicious. They used crush ice so you know they know what's up. 2. Their food is also surprisingly really good. Usually coffee shops don't have good food items. Also I noticed that they started serving food later in the afternoon. Try their turkey club sandwich 3. Parking lot is small but I've never had an issue with it. 4. Everyone is always super nice, and on a really good mood. 5. Sometimes they have trivia nights or live music. I would call to get the schedule!! I went on a random night and it was super fun. I went to study and they had a trivia night, I ended up joining a table next to me and playing along. Pro tip: if you are coming to get some work done, bring your laptop charged. They do have some outlets around the bar area and by the high table but sometimes those spaces are not free. So just be prepared before you end up frustrated. I used to live in Hawai'i and have missed the Chai from Kalapawai Market in Kailua. Since moving to Cali I have not been able find a chai similar to the one in HI and it has made me sooo sad. One of my favorite coffee shops in Orange. Their espresso is high quality and packed with flavor. I am definitely a latte girl and I love their iced caramel latte with almond milk. The flavor is fantastic and it's definitely more coffee than sugary taste which I love. I have also tried their avocado toast and I definitely recommend that as well. Tru Bru Organic Coffee is located in a small outlet that offers plenty of parking. I came on a Sunday and must have arrived during rush hour because it was packed! Waited in line for a few minutes and then received a number after we placed our order. Since there was no seating inside, we decided to sit outdoors and was lucky to grab a table. Ordered the following for a late brunch: - 16 oz Mocha (4/5): Thank goodness there was a Yelp Check-in for 20% any beverage and had to get the upgrade. The mocha was lightly sweet and did have a cute heart design art. - Hot White Guava Ginger Tea (3/5): Tea came out hot and was refreshing. Did not really taste the ginger which was surprising but maybe the guava overpowered it. -Breakfast Burrito (3.5/5): The burrito comes with 3 eggs, potatoes, pepper jack, and your choice of meat. You can select from ham, bacon, or sausage but we picked the bacon for the meat choice. Very tasty and did come with a side of pico de gallo. It was a bit on the smaller side especially compared to the price since it's almost $8. -Avocado Toast (4.5/5): The avocado toast comes with cream cheese and avocado on top of sourdough bread. You can add an egg for extra which is what we decided to do and went with a full order. The avocado toast was delicious especially with the egg on top. It was a bit messy to eat since we chose sunny side up but it all worked out in the end since you can use pieces of the bread to get the egg yolk. Service was pretty slow during rush hour which was a bit disappointing. Almost waited a good 25-30 minutes for two breakfast orders which is not ideal. They did apologize for the slow service but if they were able to accommodate during the rush hour they definitely would be a solid 4 stars. read more

First time here, place was packed, which is a good sign! Ordered the tuna melt and husband ordered breakfast sandwich. Very delicious, one of the best tuna melts I have ever had! Not greasy like most, came with a side salad. The atmosphere is causal and inviting to hang for awhile. Love all the healthy options. Next to Santiago Canyon College, lot of students doing homework. They have about 8 outside patio tables and indoor seating, all of which were busy and buzzing with people. The service was great and staff is friendly. I see this as an upscale Starbucks. I would recommend coming here. Food items are about $10 a piece but they are organic and fresh. I bought the breakfast burrito. It was smaller than a breakfast burrito I'm use to and more expensive, but again it's organic so I have to keep that in mind. I also got the avocado toast which was $10. It's two slices of sourdough toast with cream cheese and avocado slices. Both items were good. The coffee was a great value. Most coffees are about $5 a cup. They decorate the foam like they do in fancy coffee shops. I got the vanilla chia latte with a shot of espresso. The store itself is very home setting. After coming to the area, I was looking forward to trying this local coffee shop. It was poppin when I arrived which is usually a good sign. I got the breakfast burrito and a strawberry banana smoothie. Unfortunately, both were incredibly disappointing. The burrito is all egg and I could hardly taste the bacon or potatoes. The pico comes on the side which is a bummer. I think it would taste way better inside of the burrito. The smoothie was just ok. Not sure if it's freshly made but it didn't really taste like it. Maybe I just came on an off day, but I don't think I'd waste my money here again. Spent $20 for both items. A little steep in my opinion for what you get. Staff seems nice though. This place came highly recommended from a friend I met for coffee around 10:30 am. We got there right on time as after we found a table, a couple more small parties came searching for somewhere to sit and enjoy their drinks and snacks. It was a beautiful day on their makeshift patio seating in the parking lot out front. Every table was full, but spaciously placed. After every party left their table, someone would come and wipe off their table. I ordered an Iced Chai Tea Latte with Oat Milk and my mom got an Iced Americano with a pump of Hazelnut Syrup. The Iced Chai was good, but there seemed to be too much cinnamon and it tasted a little thick. My mom did not really enjoy the Americano, and said it was too sweet. We also ordered a Lavender Scone and a Zucchini Muffin. They had a lot of potential but ultimately didn't have a lot of flavor. The Lavender Scone was a little dry and seemed like it needed a pairing of a cream or jelly. The Zucchini Muffin was not my favorite and didn't have any sweetness factor. However, all the staff and baristas were very sweet and friendly. They greeted us warmly, and were very knowledgeable. I would come again to maybe try something different. read more

USED TO COME HERE 3X WEEK. LAST YEAR HAS REALLY DECLINED. Context: my family were their first customers. My dad was the one to suggest they stay open past 5pm, back when he had no employees and the owner was a one man band. We've been coming for years and about the past year or so they've realllly declined in customer service and quality. My dad loves mediocre food and even he can't stand to eat/ have coffee here anymore. He asks me all the time why I waste my money on this place and honestly, it's only convenience. The drinks are so bad that each few months I think "hey I think I'll give it another shot, who knows maybe they changed".... NOPE. They will never change. I always end up throwing my drink away and wondering why I never listen to my dad. Worst chai lattes I've ever had. They water the chai down when you get a large. They do not taste like chai, even the small is watered down and tastes only like the milk that you order. Espresso is sub par. My friend's nespresso machine makes a cappuccino that's about 10x better than this crap. Coffee is burned about 90 percent of the time. 'Drip' coffee yeah right. There's one group that cheats every trivia night. The guy that hosts it knows it and allows them to participate every week and win the prize. My family stopped showing up because there's no point. The burgers are horrible. My parents never finish them and they literally eat anything. Guac is disgusting. When I say that we can't finish anything from this place, I mean that from people who scarf down literally anything. Food really has to be poorly made, bland, oily, and tasteless for us to not eat it, ESPECIALLY considering that they're charging these up the butt prices. Absolutely not. The lentil soup tastes like it's from an Amy's can of soup and requires salt on salt on salt to make it worth eating. About one vegan item on the menu, and one vegan baked item that they rarely make. My grandpa and I have a new low of cookie, it's from this place. Their cookies are the worst we've ever had and are the standard of 0 when we try new cookies from other places. "Is it as bad as Tru bru cookies?" "No not THAT bad!!" Dry, tasteless, and not worth finishing. Never had a cookie that was this bad. I honestly don't know why I give this place a star, because my entire family and I have given this place so many chances (live up the street) and it's just the worst coffee shop I've ever been to. The snobby entitled college employees are the cherry on top of the piece of crap that this place is. They answer any question and inquiry about menu items as if they want nothing to do with you. Was excited to try this place but we had the weirdest experience yesterday with my BF. He got there first and ordered ahead. It was 11am and when he tried to pay with a $50 bill, he was told by the cashier (blonde with glasses) that she didn't have any change. So when we got back in line, another cashier (brunette) helped us and when we told her that we couldn't pay earlier with a $50 bill she looked extremely bewildered, opened her register and pointed out to the other cashier that they did in fact have change. She was as confused as we were. Wow, that's great. She took my BF's bill and provided him with his change. The blonde cashier looked caught off guard and proceeded to explain to me that they usually don't have change until later in the day. This is extremely odd to me. A place that opens at 7am, is clearly popular (even on a Tuesday) and was packed by the time we got there...and they don't have change? Or did she not want to accept my BF's $50 bill? Lame. The perfect study/hangout spot! I was in love as soon as I saw all the outlets they had (no more scrambling to plug in my laptop, yay). Not to mention super friendly service and lots of seating. There was that regular buzz of coffee shop background noise but it wasn't loud at all- justttt perfect for getting work done. Tru Bru is far more than just organic coffee- they have food, pastries, and plenty of drinks all with fresh, organic ingredients! I got a ham and cheese melt (about $8) which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I didn't know a ham and cheese sandwich could taste that good. It was big and very filling so the price was more than reasonable to me. I also got a chai latte to go with my sandwich and it was amazing! Stopped by on a Saturday around 11 and it was really busy. Almost all seats were taken including around the bar. The line moved quick and employees were friendly. Parking lot gets really busy so just park a little further and walk. There's seating outside and inside. If you're lucky you can take a seat outside and see people ride horses along the trail and get a little dirt kicked up in your face. They ran out of nitro cold brew, but offered me a different drink. The nitro cold brew wasn't as smooth as other cold brews I have had. The latte with almond milk was delicious though! read more

I order a hot tea over ice and they kept trying to talk me out of it because "it'll take time to seap", I'm totally fine with waiting, but then I found a long ass hair in my ice tea. I told them and they didn't offer me a refund and looked at me weird when I asked them to remake it. Not only that it took them about 5 minutes to see that I was needing help. It also took about 15 minutes until we got our tea, we got our food first, so when we waited for our tea the food got cold (2019) Such a cute environment! I love the whole cafe, the drinks are really good. I especially enjoy their happy tea! It's perfect for summer, but I drink ice tea year round so that's my go to when I stop by. One of my FAVORITE coffee shops by far!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I always come here with my family whenever we have coffee cravings to drink their caramel macchiato. I'm not a huge coffee fan, but the caramel macchiato is to die for. Please try their coffee; you won't regret it. They also have a breakfast/lunch menu that I absolutely LOVE. I've basically tried pretty much everything because we come so often. It's best to come around lunchtime if you want to study because it's pretty packed around brunch.
