On each occasion staff addressed my presence in a manner which ensured that I did not have to wait for others to leave who were already being served ahead of me. An office person working at their desk would promptly come to the counter to assist me. Each worker I've met on every visit was friendly, showed a full understanding of what my needs were and either directed me to another worker who was able to handle my requests and answer my questions, or was able to provide me with the appropriate forms and information on how to complete those forms and submit them for processing. These folks are serious about serving their fellow residents and should feel as proud about the job they do as I feel good about coming to them for help.

For a membership fee of $275 a year for a small biz (less than 11 employees), the two main benefits you get are group health insurance rates, and emailed invitations to mixers and networking events. There's many other benefits too -- leads group, listing in the directory, member-to-member discounts, etc. I've been a member for over a year. They seem well organized and deliver on what they promise. Catherine, the health insurance contact, makes a point of posting the latest CDPHP and Empire New York rates/information on the website as soon as they become available. She's also quick to answer your questions, which is good, considering how confusing the whole health insurance thing has become. (I don't know if they are still doing it, but they used to do an Associate membership, where once you purchased your full membership, you could invite another business to join as your associate for $100. If they're still doing this, two or more friends with businesses can pool resources and bring the membership costs way down.)

Bathrooms are located on every level towards the front of the building, but all of the water fountains have been turned off due to COVID-19. Building security is provided by Albany County Sheriff's Office, and requiring passing through a metal detector, and having everything x-rayed. Overall, a well lit, spacious building. This is some kind of magical bell organ- hopefully, another commenter can explain. Each week there is a guest performer. Programs are available on stands in front of City Hall. As the flyer says: "Bring a picnic lunch and listen to the bells of City Hall from one of the nearby parks." There are benches and lots of shade for blankets.
