First off, I came in at Sunday at 6 pm and they told me the food line and ordering was closed, WHAT?! There's nothing that mentions this online. Second, they let people behind me order food and then I reasked and they said no food. THEN I ordered just one smoothie, and people behind me got theirs before me and I waited over 45 minutes for one smoothie!! THEN two ladies came in with HUGE mobile orders and they didn't prepare their orders so we got all backed up. They didn't even ask me what I had to make sure I got what I ordered. Omg worst tropical smoothies ever!!! The one on Prince William so much better. I am never the type to write bad review for business but I just won't go back here ever again. I came across this location randomly. I was debating driving back home if i want to write a review or not and I was like no, these young girl probably just tired but then went I got home and open my quesadilla and it had no chicken but just cheese I was over it. Walking in you don't feel welcome at all even know it was so slow, the girl with the red hair took my order, she just look tired and look like she didn't want to be there actually all the 3 staff look like they didn't want to be there. Something about the vibe was like they didn't get along or they just tired so I understand is retail but still I would had like a copy of my receipt but I didn't get it. Then I was wait for my smoothies as I watch the blonde girl making it , they were barely no strawberries in the container that she was scooping it from she just got 3 pieces and the mango was also empty from the container. I would had prefer they just went and restock or just tell me they don't have the ingredient anymore for the night and I would got a different smoothies. I was whatever no big deal but went i get my smoothies is taste like Ice with a sprinkle of juice. Then the girl with the red hair actually brought out fruit went it was too late. lol I am just like over it . Got my quesadilla and my corn, ok i am good no big deal. Open my corn salad in the car is like like 1/3 fill in the container, whatever no big deal. I bite in to it definitely not something i get again. The flavor wasn't bad but the texture was off you can tell the corn is soggy and old or it was from frozen . I am like ok hopefully my 3 cheese chicken quesadilla is good open it and It was dry with no chicken and stick to the card box. I am honestly just over it and just threw it away. I would rate this Tropical Smoothie at a 1.5 Stars. I refrain from a two because it's a smoothie place and competition is somewhat abundant. A very underwhelming Tropical Smoothie. Despite the modern interior and the decent service, that was just about the only good thing about this place. The smoothie I ordered came out slow and was very disappointing. It tasted off (somewhat watery) and not as good as other locations. One sad thing I saw was the carved graffiti on the tables. It's just proof of a poorly kept place and poor clientele visiting the store. I get clientele around here can be a little disrespectful, but I believe the store should know that coming in and be able to stay on top of it or take action. Iv been here very often maybe 1-3 times a week. Give these teens a break the staffing is extremely short. They are doing the best that they can with the amount of workers present I commend everyone who works here and who is very respectful and diligent workers. I never have anything wrong with my orders, my smoothies are amazing. Great customer service and I am a loyal tropical smoothie drinker. This location can use more staffing. Let's not put blame on the employees. I see help wanted signs all through the area and the United States people are willing to work anymore. Visited this particular tropical smoothie location because it is conveniently located below the Neabsco apartment complex. My fiancé and I wanted something that was quick, but healthy! We were highly satisfied with our service and the staff were very friendly. I was also impressed with the layout of this tropical smoothie. There was plenty of seating and the environment was very inviting. My fiancé and I both ordered the Thai Chicken Wrap (this is one of our favorites). It was absolutely delicious! We also ordered the Blueberry Bliss smoothie (my fiancé and I usually split a smoothie because it's big enough for the both of us and saves money). The food came out hot and the smoothie tasted fantastic. If you are in the mood for something quick but healthy, I would definitely check out this particular location. Don't even waste your time. Operated by teenagers who were busy yelling at each other. Multiple people waiting for service but the kids were still arguing about something non work related. It was quite a surprise when all 3 employees who were in the store reacted with annoyance when I asked for a paper menu because it was difficult to see the small print on the signs. Turns out there aren't any, or so they say. When we didn't order immediately, the girl at the register just walked away. Once we could place our orders, we had to repeat ourselves several times over the very loud music, the blenders, the plexiglass, and our masks. You'd think with all the things you can't control, you'd at least manage what's in your control like very loud music. I ordered the mocha madness, but what she made was the mango magic. I explained what I had ordered and the girl just stared and me, glared at the girl who took the order and stomped off to remake the smoothie. While we waited for the redo, a mom and her little girl came in and the register girl was rude and argued with her about anything she asked about for her small child. Meanwhile, the girl making the smoothies has her mask on under her chin, then just pulls it up over her lip. What's the point if you're not going to wear it correctly? I will say that the smoothies were delicious. We have not been here before and stopped in because it was across the street from the storage place where we had been dropping off some items. The quality of the food and the customer service has always been great for me. Regardless of the amount of people in the restaurant and the restrooms are always clean. I ordered one Baja chicken bowl and one buffola wrap . They delivered buffola wrap and baja wrap. I returned whole order and wanted to get correct order and a new buffalo wrap since it got cold till returning process concluded, total it was 60 minutes after my order. 30 minutes later I got baja bowl and the same buffolo back. I visited tropical smoothie on 2/24/2020 and I had the worst experience ever , at this point idk if I will revisit. I was trying to get a smoothie before heading to coach at 4:15. I arrived at 3:45 to place the order. It was only one person in front of me and they were paying as I walked up. After placing my order , I waited like normal. After about 12-15 minutes went by I walked up to the counter to see what the wait was on my order. I decided to ask because I heard other people complaining out loud saying "I'm never coming back" "never had this problem at a tropical smoothie" . I asked the cashier if my order was ready, he looked confused and asked me what my order was. The person that I talked to asked the other team members "where is the chia blast with peanut butter" everyone looked around looked confused , no sense of urgency . Finally one of the team members finally spoke up and said that they gave it away already. Which I find weird when they never called out the chia blast. There was no call out or communication that my order was ready but they gave it to someone else. I was sitting at the counter no music no earphones watching , order was never called. It then almost took another 10-15 minutes for me to finally get my order as they proceeded to make other people's smoothies before mine. I literally waited 30 minutes for 1 smoothie, a chia blast with peanut butter for them to say "oh we gave it away." I never had a problem at any other locations. The worst part was when he handed my drink over he just said "sorry about that" but you can tell they didn't really care. Also there was no sense of urgency, no care of the mess up, it was like oh we gave it away wait while we make other people's then make yours. This was a huge inconvenience. When someone offers you free breakfast you don't turn that down. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is where we ended up. They have a okay breakfast sandwich list as well as what I would now consider to be very standard smoothie offerings. As per usual I ordered a berry and banana smoothie as well as a egg breakfast wrap with mozzarella cheese. The smoothie was pretty good and I didn't find it to be too sweet. The breakfast sandwich was a little less exciting. The tortilla wrap was pretty thick and aside from the cheese didn't knock my socks off. It was an okay breakfast sandwich. The service was pretty quick which was good because we were definitely in a rush. Nothing to wow you here but it's not a bad option for a morning smoothie. read more

I live less than 5 minutes away, so I come here quite often. The staff turnover at this location is ridiculous. Every time I come in here, there's pretty much all new staff. No one knows how to enter the code for the discounts and they lie and tell you whatever so they don't have to figure it out. I have been patronizing this particular location for 3 years now and each time I wonder why I keep coming back. The staff don't even make the smoothies taste the way it should, they fill it up with ice and it's a waste. I have been here where they had so many new staff members working at once, they couldn't figure out how to get the orders out by first come first serve when it gets busy. Earlier today my boyfriend and I came in for a couple smoothies. We placed our order online and just needed to pick up our order. When we got there , there were 6 people waiting to be helped. There was one person working and they were sweeping the floor completely ignoring everyone. No one else was anywhere to be found. After waiting a few min for someone to help, a women walked up and asked if she could order and get her smoothies. She responded "I don't know" and proceeded to continue sweeping. The woman asked again if she could get her smoothies and again the response was "I don't know" and return to sweeping. This went on another round. At this point one or two guests just walked out extremely annoyed. Finally a manager came out and asked if could help her. The women replied along the lines of how it's unacceptable to be treated that way as a guest especially with several other people waiting to pick up their orders. He responded "Oh she's in a bad mood today that's why" Are you SERIOUS!!!! I've worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years and never once acted that way. Everyone has bad days and everyone has to work but just because your having a bad day does not give you the right to ignore and have an attitude to guests. I have been a loyal customer to Tropical Smoothie for YEARS and I have never had an issue this severe. I ordered delivery from their website specifically and was told DoorDash would be delivering my order, no biggie. They show up late just to find out that I was missing about half my order. I had to call the store multiple times before I got an answer. I told them what happened and I was transferred to a "manager" that put me on hold and then hung up the phone. I called back and the phone went to voicemail. Called back again and told them that I believe we got "disconnected" and I was told "yeah... our phones are eh" proceeded by the only option that they could offer me was to make another sandwich which I had to come by and pick up... I asked them how would I be compensated for this inconvenience and they told me that I couldn't be "because I know how the store manager/owner (these terms were used interchangeably) is" I asked if I could just receive a refund and the worker (who I later found out was NOT the manager) said that she would take my info down to have my refund processed and she would call back to confirm. I never got the refund, nor did I ever get a call back. I sent in multiple complaints to the website and never got a response and then I posted it to social media in which I received a DM saying to send them my email... in the meantime I contacted DoorDash to see if there was anything they could do and they said no and ended the chat ABRUPTLY. So here I am, food-less, refund-less, and have had my time wasted by a mess of customer service. Tropical Smoothie does not value their customers at all. This issue honestly could have easily been fixed and not have to have escalated to this. I am just so upset. read more
