This store is horrible. At least they're consistent with it. Each and every visit here has been the same : horrible. Picked up sandwiches for the road. All the sandwiches were delicious - we had a baja chicken salad bowl, an island chicken quesadilla, a pulled port quesadilla, and a chicken club Flatbread sandwich. The prices - each about $6 - are extremely reasonable. Such a good alternative to greasy burgers. The website has an online ordering option, so I was able to place the order while on the road, drive up and walk past the other customers to just pick up my order. It was easy and convenient. During this time, customers are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. I was pleased to see all customers respecting the rules. Me and boyfriend have been here twice. The service is horrible. The first time we went to this location was in the morning. As we walked in my boyfriend said good morning to the woman at the cashier didn't say anything. She just waited for us to make our order. She never asked for a name and when our order of smoothies were ready she never called out our name and just put them in the mobile and to-go area. Second time we came here which was tonight the service was also horrible. We could bearly hear the boy at the register. We ordered 3 smoothies. After 5 minutes we got the first one. Then after having to wait 10 more minutes because they realized they didn't finish our order. By the time we got our other 2 smoothies, the first one we got was already significantly melted. Went to tropical cafe 190 southgate square colonial heights va 23834, Ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich with no bacon, I sat down and waited for my order to be made. After waiting 20 minutes I noticed they had put one order in the corner of the register. I continued to wait thinking it was a order for someone else. After waiting 50 minutes i went to the cashier and asked her for my food. She then handed me the food that has been sitting in the counter for 30 minutes. I opened the order and there was bacon in it. I told the cashier i had ordered no bacon. The manager came from the office screaming what do you want. I had told her that my order is wrong. she said it can be fixed but he will have to wait. I told them i can not wait another 45 minutes. Manager told me well that's exactly what you will have to do. I told them to cancel my order. They said its fine they will cancel it i waited for my money back because i had paid cash. Manager went back in the office and the cashier started to take other customers. After 15 minutes cashier asked me why am I waiting. I told her i was waiting for my refund. The cashier said she is going to ask the manager in the office. I could hear them talking in the office and the manager told her cashier to say manager is not here anymore. I was given no money back. I did not receive any food. I asked her to give me my original receipt. She said she threw it in one of the trash and will not retrieve it. No food, no money back and no receipt. Thankfully I arrived just before a ton of people came. My food and smoothie only took 5-8 min, but it looked like others after me had to wait longer. I ordered my usual - veggie hummus wrap and Island Green with Splenda. The wrap was very well done. Unfortunately the smoothie wasn't blended as much as I would prefer and had more the consistency of a slushy. The space was clean and the people who handed me my food and smoothie were very friendly. The girl who gave me my wrap seemed especially proud of what she had produced, and she was right! They were training a new girl at the register, and she seemed overwhelmed to the point she didn't really talk. After exchanging pleasantries, she forgot to ask me for my order... so after about 30'sec of awkward silence and looking at her, I just went ahead with my order. Well thought we might give TSC another chance after my scathing review of no phone in orders accepted. We'd been phoning in our order for a Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich and Coke for probably over year (until that was deemed unacceptable) but today, since we had time, decided to go in and order. I placed an order at tropical smoothie through GrubHub for two smoothies and two flatbread sandwiches. The driver came to my house to make the delivery and he only had the flatbread sandwiches and chips that go along with it when asked about the smoothies he said well they didn't give them to me That this is all they gave me. So I called GrubHub to see about getting the problem rectified they refunded me for the cost of the smoothies only and told me I would have to get in contact with tropical smoothie to find out any further inquiries I had. I tried calling the phone number for tropical smoothie that's listed on their website and that phone number is not available. When they do a GrubHub order they should make sure that they have the completed order together before they hand it to the driver because now I'm out about nine dollars in fees from Grubhub for the convenience fee and whatever the other fee was that they had because I have to call or place another order through GrubHub for my smoothies. And then I will have to pay all of the charges again because GrubHub will only refund the cost of the smoothies. I don't feel this is GrubHub's total fault because tropical smoothie did not give the driver the smoothies. I know from personal trips to tropical smoothie when you order food and a smoothie they give it to you at two separate times when they're dealing with a delivery order they should make sure that it is all together before they hand it to the delivery driver. I was exhausted, a bit shaky and trying to get home before a major storm hit. I pulled in to this Tropical Smoothie location by chance. Best idea ever! I asked a question about ingredients in one of the flatbread sandwiches and the girl helping me instantly recognized that I had food allergies. She was so sweet and made a few suggestions. I ended up getting a really delicious Grilled Chicken Pesto flatbread minus the cheese and the Avovolada Smoothie! If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. Best smoothie I have ever had. Never thought of adding avocado to a smoothie. Made it even creamier. Loved it. I will definitely make the Tropical Smoothie Cafe a more frequent stop.
