Authentic pasta in Venice!…read more
I actually came here twice in my 4 day stay in Venice, and can conclude I liked Tuttinpiedi much more than the hyped Dal Moro. A small, very easy to miss spot that can hold just a couple people at a time.
The Sicillian pesto is delicious...it is a rich, red based sauce made with olives, ricotta, tomatoes, basil, and other goodies blended in. Unlike anything else I've had.
I also tried the black cuttlefish pasta and fresh mussels with tomatoes (this was a daily special) and they were both very good and fresh [and affordable!]. Every dish I had the pasta was expertly cooked to the right level of al-dente.
It's all cooked with love and care on the spot, and every bite will feel homey. The owner was very warm and friendly in a quiet reserved way, speaks good English, and was willing to indulge my questions about his small business.
I highly recommend coming here over the other over-hyped pasta to-go places nearby. Do call in advanced - sometimes the hours can be different.
