I visited these guys when we ran out of food for the dog whilst on holiday, they couldn't have been more helpful. They gave us loads of samples to try out and even gave us a discounted price on the dogs favourite. Highly recommended. read more

The owners are chatty and friendly and they know a lot about pet-care. There is lots of stock. I have a rabbit and this pet food store is really convenient to buy large bags of hay and saw-dust, a variety of pet foods and treats and other things like water bottles and food bowls. Trophy Pet Foods are open until 6pm each week night so its handy to call in on my way home from work and they are also open at the weekend.

This pet shop specialises in fish and the people in front of me in the queue were buying lots of fish and plants for their fish-tanks and I felt like they resented me being in their way. This shop sells everything you need for pet care but they do not have a large range of products and I was not keen on the way the shop was set out, I had to walk around the shop a few times to find what I was looking for.

They stick to products they believe in which makes me feel confident when buying things for my dog. You can find pretty much anything at Animal Fayre. Don't know what the previous comment was about with regards to having to "walk around the shop a few times". The shop is small, so trying to find something isn't really an issue at all. The customer service is impeccable each time!

They have a lot of stuff you would expect such as leads, bowls, cages and feeders. It is a pet paradise. If you need supplies for your pet then this should be your first place to come.

No, I wasn't treated to a bag of hay or a chew toy, my present was the furry kind, a hamster to be precise. I was really nervous (the last hamster incident I was involved in ended in blood and being mentally scarred for life) but the owner was absolutely lovely. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, giving us a full history of his current stock of hamsters and stressing that he only uses particular breeders. As this goes for all the small animals he sells, this means that customers can rely on healthy, happy and docile animals. As well as the hamster in question, we also bought all the necessary paraphernalia that one needs to take care of it. Once again the owner gave us expert knowledge on what kind of cage we needed and once we got the hamster home I rang this shop up practically every other day for advice and he was nothing but patient. Definitely recommend this place for all your pet needs, particularly if you are looking to buy a healthy, friendly pet.

It also sells things like hamster toys, cages, fish tanks, rabbit hutches and lots more. The prices in there are very reasonable. My daughters love going there as there are animals there that you can look at and buy like: hamsters, rats, guniea pigs and fish. All the cages and fish tanks look really clean and the animals look well looked after. We brought our hamster from there and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Once we had chosen the hamster they got him out the cage. They then explained to us how to look after him and showed us what food he needed etc. They then gave us a little box and a bit of bedding to take him him home in. I would say the shop has great customer service.

It might seem incongruous at first as it is situated in a huge Georgian buolding that once stood in it's own quiet grounds, the essence of graciousness. Now it is redolent with squeaks and chirps and bubbling of water tanks. Set over several floors, there is a good supply of just about anything you might need for domestic pets - food, bedding, cages, toys, treats. It is always fascinating to watch the many different small fish swimming in their tanks, and upstairs on the first floor you can see small rodent type pets for sale - hamsters, mice, guinea-pigs. Small children love to watch the little creatures as they await a good new home. In fact, there is so much packed in that the customer floor space for humans, especially around the main tills, is rather limited and narrow and often involves a bit of a shuffle. The assistants are always very busy and helpful, but for I sometimes wish they could wear more distinctive 'team tops' as I've almost mistakenly asked customers for advice in the past, believing they worked there! The prices seem more reasonable than most other independent pet shops I've visited, and there's a far better selection of goods in stock than you might expect. Everything I've bought from Olly's Polly's to date - mainly dog-related bits and bobs including a collar and several squeaky toys - have been of good quality. They sell Burns dog food, too, which isn't always easy to come by. Check the opening hours before you make a special trip here, because they're closed all day Sunday and Monday, and Wednesday afternoons - and then on the other weekdays when they're open, they close for an hour at lunchtime! The staff always have a big beaming smile and it puts to shame the often cold approach that many main stream pet stores seem to adopt.
