Take it outside and watch as the locals peruse the shops for art and quirky fashion. The street is lovely and the views from the Old Town Bridge of the Nidelva river are the ones you see on all of the postcards. This is an area to spend some time in - lots of little stuff to see and great place to jump off to. The old town is close and the Cathedral is just over the River. Loads of restaurants and stuff to do very close by.

This is a quirky art book shop and a hidden gem with subjects as artists books, photography,…read moreillustration, fanzines, design, literature, jazz vinyl records and silk screen posters. Babel Bok is in the Babel art space gallery, so it's open within the gallery's opening hours during exhibitions. (Usually thursday-friday 14:00-18:00 and Saturday-Sunday 12:00-16:00). A nice place to just look around or perhaps you'll find an unique book to buy. Close to the park. I recommend visiting Svartlamon and dining at Ramp while you're in the area, have a beer at Mellomveien pub or just spend time in Lamoparken.

Don't expect too big of an area or too much interesting street art, but it really is a place you can't miss out if you're interested in such and in the city! Also - I've only been in Svartlamon in the morning, but saw some cute stores and cafés around which might be worth checking out. So i'm pretty sure it'll be more lively and nice a little later in the day or maybe even early evening. And yes, it's a "normal neighborhood" indeed, so keep in mind that there's people living there, too. :)
