I recently encountered some lower back pain while on holiday. Probably due to contorting my body to…read moresqueeze into small Ubers in Porto. As I finally could no longer withstand the pain I did a google search and saw that this hospital had pretty good reviews and was pretty close to where we were staying. Upon arrival at the ER we were pleasantly greeted and began the registration process. Regrettably , I forgot my passport which they required for registration. Luckilyn my partner and I had copies on our phones but the hospital does not have wi-fi so it was quite an arduous task trying to email them to the receptionist. After multiple attempts we finally got one copy through and were instructed to to have a seat to be called by the triage nurse. After a surprisingly short wait we were called explained the issue and taken to another waiting area to be seen by the Doctor. The Doctor asked few questions and sent me to the nurse to have a cortisone and anti inflammatory shot. Then back to the waiting room to wait for a radiologist for X-rays. When the radiologist arrived a short time later we decided that as we were tourist, and were paying out of pocket for all procedures we decided to opt out of X-rays and would follow up when we returned home. She stated that she would speak with the Doctor and explain our situation. We waited again to see the Doctor who gave me an RX to be filled locally and we were on our way to continue our Vigo vacation. The entire process took less that two hours. All staff members that we encountered demonstrated professionalism respect and compassion. This is as first rate operation and I do not hesitate to refer them for all of your health needs if they should ever be required.
