Redemption Church - Beaumont, TX. This church is young in two ways. It has been around since 2016,…read moreand the average person coming has a few decades to wait before Social Security eligibility. That said, there is also a healthy group of mature Christians here who are actively involved in several of the ministries. The church is in the heart of downtown Beaumont and has attracted an eclectic group of men and women from every background. There is no "typical" person that comes. People from every Christian background are welcome: from Church of Christ to United Pentecostal. From Baptist to Catholic. From Methodist to Lutheran. From the retired to the restarting over - and everywhere in between. From all of SETX and beyond. From every size, shape and skin tone - everyone is welcome. Everyone is welcome - but the message is not going to be watered down in order to keep you coming back. Byron Ellis pulls no punches, but he does deliver the pure gospel message with love and passion. If you like book-by-book and verse-by-verse studies of the Bible with real-life applications to take home - this could be the church is for you. If you like solid evangelical teaching from a church with an Assembly of God background - this could be the church for you. If you like charismatic without being charismaniac - this could be the church for you. If you don't know what either of those words mean - this could still be the church for you. Redemption has youth and kids programs. It has several services to choose from. It has regular homegroup semesters. It has a Freedom program for those who need to sever ties with things from their past that are holding them back. It has had more than 100 baptisms a year for the last three years in a row - more than 500 baptisms in 8 years. If you want to be a part of a church that is Jesus centered, Bible aligned, Praise oriented, and Community focused - this could be the church of you.

Robert joy S. 11/19/2015…read moreEdit My family recently moved here and joined this church as members. My 3 year old son had 2 bruises near his eye several weeks apart and continues to play hard and be active and get various bruises. The members that worked with the children asked me passing through and I may have given a few different answers and sounded a tad nervous but that's just me.Then CPS was at my house and turned my house upside down and interviewed my 8 year old daughter and she still has long term effects from this experience. The CPS worker offered me a job because I have the appropriate degree and she said it was ridiculous that she had to make a visit. Nothing was found but LOVE. It was a huge rush to judgement and a very worldly and ungodly answer to a concern. They could have called my previous pastor where we were members for 5 years, they could have come make a house call and prayed with me if they truly thought there was abuse but they called CPS instead. I realize they are held to the Texas law but Gods Authority is much higher. I always have looked at my church as a family this is not how I would ever treat any of my family members.I would think twice before sending my child to their property. I feel this situation was handled improperly and that the church responded with a very worldly answer rather than in the Love of Christ. The Pastor was aware of the CPS decision and has yet to come to apologize

There is no perfect church in our world. That's why we need Jesus…read more My husband and I have been members at Hillcrest for six years. We've always valued the preaching, which is not based on feel good topics and supported by random bits of the Bible, but is a true study of God's Word, verse by verse. There are also so many talented, passionate musicians who lead the church in singing praises to God. At first, we met a lot of smiling, friendly people, but struggled to feel like we fit in. Since church wasn't exactly working out as a social fix for us, we started SERVING. For us, that meant spending time in the children, youth, and music ministries and going to help start a church in the heart of Mexico. That is when Hillcrest really became family. At Hillcrest we gather together to SERVE, not to be served. What a joy it is to serve alongside these people! We all need Jesus everyday. We are all learning to love and serve like Him. We would love to have you join us!
