Really happy with our experience with TriState Roofing. Sales team, JJ and partner, were great to work with, knowledgeable and pleasant without being pushy, and really took their time to explain our options. Our metal roof was ordered and delivered within a few weeks and installed soon after. The install team was very professional, careful, did a great job with removal of the old roof and materials, they even used a large magnet to go around the yard to pick up any stray nails (which is so considerate since we have a young child and small dog). Our new metal roof and gutters look amazing! Gutter crew was also very professional and courteous, did a great job with the install and communication. - Disappointed by Rigid Sales Tactics and Poor Communication I received a text from Tri-State Roofing saying, "I'm in your neighborhood. Can I help you with an estimate to repair or replace your roof?" I replied "Sure," and someone from their scheduling department promptly called to set up an appointment for the following week. I added it to my calendar, and they even called the day before to confirm--so far, so good. Unfortunately, this is where things unraveled. During the confirmation call, I was asked, "Will all decision-making parties be present?" I explained that I have weekdays off while my spouse works weekends, so I would be handling the appointment. Their response: "We HAVE TO HAVE both parties present." I told them to cancel the appointment, as coordinating both of our schedules would be nearly impossible. Two days later, they called again to reschedule. I asked if they were now willing to provide the estimate to me alone. I understand their desire to avoid the "I need to talk to my spouse" objection--it's a common hurdle for inexperienced sales reps. But again, I was told, "We HAVE TO HAVE both decision makers present. Sorry for wasting your time." And yes--they did waste my time. Twice. They paid an employee to contact me twice, only to insist on a rigid policy that led to zero results. Had they simply offered a fair and transparent estimate to the person available, they might have earned our business after further discussion at home. Instead, they've earned a 1-star review and lost any future recommendation from me. If you live in a household with more than one decision-maker and differing schedules, I suggest looking elsewhere. found them at a nearby festival. had Kyle come do an estimate, and we talked through multiple options. we selected our finishes, paid a deposit, they took photos and measurements. they said scheduling was 4-6 weeks out. this was the beginning of July. after multiple phone calls where the scheduler avoided my phone calls, lied about missing information I had confirmed, and then a threat to get my deposit back, I got on the schedule 3 months later. the day they were supposed to come, no one showed up, so I called and was on hold for quite a while. they proceeded to tell me they didn't scope it correctly but had a new project manager, Kyle (same guy), who would help fix it. there seems to be no ethical line to prevent lying here, and if they lie about scheduling, missing information, and then staff turnover and introduce the same person who originally helped with the estimate, how unethical will they be with an actual repair? I asked for my money back and was promised I'll get a check in two weeks. I want the additional interest my deposit would have made, plus my time taking a whole day off work without any notice they weren't going to show up, but we will see if they can even follow through on just getting the deposit back. read more

Jacob & Matt came to accomplish an estimate for my manufactured home and we're very thorough about what would need to be performed by his team on a roof job. Ive been getting constant texts from a phony number saying they're in my neighborhood and would I like a roofing qoute.Ive said no more than ten times,block the number then they text me back from a different number. Finally after not being able to respond to the number I said sure to see if I could get in contact with who was harassing me.First new text was to sign up with snap chat then I got a call from Crystal with tri state roofing. She then explained that they were trying something new to get customers, so I guess harassing text messages is their new business model. So they use a robo text system from fake numbers to harass people which is illegal, so they're taking part in an illegal fraudulent phone scam to try and aquire new business. Just ask yourself if you'd trust a company that relies on a phone scam to get customers and if you'd trust someone who's involved in criminal behavior to repair your home or to actually honor any contractual obligation. I had cedar shakes on my home and had it replaced with T1-11. This was quite an extensive process for me and I didn't understand all that was to take place. I had friends who would tell me what I needed to question, look for and take many pictures of the process as work was being done. It became quite overwhelming. Katie, the production manager was just outstanding in helping to relieve my fears and explaining things to me in a manner that was calm, professional and courteous. Jose, the supervisor over the project was friendly, professional, courteous, and truly took the time to come out and relieve my fears and concerns. Between Katie and Jose gradually each day things began to come together, and I began to feel better. The crew from Mr. Antonio, and all the others truly worked hard to ensure that I was happy with the final process and outcome. I can say I am so very happy with the Final outcome. The tiles were placed perfectly, the soffits that needed repair. were done with care. The casing around the windows and doors make them look brand new and most of all the painting of the house is outstanding. I even received a compliment from the DIRECTV serviceman who was working on things here. I can honestly say I am very happy and pleased with all of the work that was done, with by the crew. This is a shake and bake company. There Communication skills oh sorely lacking. The roofer are quick but the Quality of the work is the big question. Once they got there money you are on your own.,I had problems with over size nails coming through my roof and the inspector saw this. He just past the buck I have called but no one responsible is ever in the office. Also the warrantee contract is almost nonexistent and their receipts as Proof of purchase is shady I had to ask for a stamp or logo. Be Mineful you get what you pay for. Tristate roofing did my home about a year ago and like any company there were some bumps in the road, but overall they are the only construction company I've worked with that is consistent with showing up to do the work everyday, communicating, and takes pride in the quality of the work. The office staff is extremely friendly. The sales and production team are highly knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions. The sales staff was the only ones to show me the L&I verify a contractor website which saved me from working with an illegitimate company I got a bid from. read more

Absolutely the WORST roofing company of all time! I give them a ZERO STAR RATING!! We spent over $50k for a metal roof and gutters. From the very first day of installation we had a feeling we made a mistake. I wished we were wrong but they have shown their completely incompetent, they do not care about their customers at all!! My husband had concerns during the installation and called to have someone sent out to check the installers work. We were told the inspection happens after it's all installed and completed. Well, after it was completed we were not happy with the quality of work, what we had expected to get for what we paid. They damaged the skylight in the process and now it leaks and they have not fixed it, they threw a tarp over it and that's how it has been for 6 months with no solutions even being talked about. These people do not return phone calls or emails. We get guys sent out to "look" at our issues but nothing has happened to fix any of our concerns and it was installed October of 2021. It's been almost a year since it was installed and nothing has been fixed at all!! All we get is a run around with no solutions or actions. All our soffits are ruined because of the incorrect installation of the drip edge, some soffits were broken in the install. The screens were not removed and the plastic garbage they replaced them with are crooked and not placed nicely, it looks like trash. All my neighbors are shocked at the price we paid for the ugly roof we got. They keep wondering why people keep coming to our house and the roof is still the same with none of our issues resolved. I would never recommend this company!!! Horrific customer service and zero communication! We paid for this roof, we did our part, they got paid in full. What did we get but stress and chaos and completely made the fool! I regret our decision and just want them to take the roof off and give us our money back so we can find a real roofer that knows what they are doing. We got three bids for metal roofing and took the middle bid- TriState. When we had the project bid we were very clear about some possible structural concerns and worries about having to replace all of the plywood. The first estimate included that, but in the time it took to get competing bids they changed the cost (up) and reduced materials. The result was the classic "once you're invested we will jack up the price by expanding the scope of the work" even though everything done was consistent with out original concerns. Communication between the original bid and the project manager was terrible- none of our concerns expressed to the sales rep made it to the project manager, so we started from scratch. Once into the project it was one issue after another. The roofers cut into siding to install the roof and could not cut a clean, straight line so the siding looked pretty bad. One section of a porch roof had sagged, and this became very noticeable with the metal roof (not easily seen with composite shingles), but by the time we saw it the metal roof was screwed down and they just shrugged it off. Again, we had asked that these kind of issues be addressed but they basically told us that it wasn't their problem. After the project was "done" it took months to address finishing touches like cleaning up the cuts on the siding, finishing install on the gutters, and getting it to full completion. We ultimately just cut our losses and moved on because it became clear that they had done "good enough" in their own eyes. The roof is great, and probably most folks who see it won't see the flaws. This is more about the poor communication, poor customer service, and bait-and-switch pricing than the actual end product. read more

They were respectful, helpful, and not pushy. They even caught an area of our roof that needed some additional weather proofing that other companies did not! Agreed to get an estimate for a roof in Renton. Confirmed appointment with customer service on Friday for 2 PM Saturday - had to make sure that I cleared access to the crawlspace/ etc. Roofer no called/ no showed for the estimate. I set aside time on a Saturday and they didn't have the decency to call letting me know they couldn't make it. Customer service reached out 3 days later and I got passed to an agent who unconvincingly stated that the roofer's wife unexpectedly went into labor and that is why no one reached out to me. The customer service supervisor apologized but didn't demonstrate any responsibility or plan build trust past this experience and just kept trying to set an appointment for another estimate. I wouldn't recommend to anyone as they haven't demonstrated professionalism and didn't value me as a customer. read more

Representative knocked on my door while working on a project down the street. That's fine, advertise your business when you're in a neighborhood. However, instead of kindly leaving a business card and a "think of us if you need some work!", he condescendingly pointed out a patch on our roof we are already addressing this season. When I indicated we were not interested, he decided to sneer at our windows and ask if we were ever planning on replacing them. Tristate Roofing recovered our roof. I did see the low stars, but the comments were mainly on the salesman. Maybe because we were genuinely interested he was nice, but we had a very courteous and professional representative by the name of Bob Lyman. He heard our questions and answered them very honestly. This was the 2nd roofer we spoke with and was very comfortable in making this decision based on Bob's advice. The scheduler was very polite as well and due to the change of weather asked us if we could change the schedule as well. This was not a problem for us since we weren't doing a tear-off. Afterward, inspectors came and spoke with me, then presented the inspection to me. The crewman that inspected was Enrique. Again, he was extremely courteous and professional. We had 2 salespeople come to our home around 6pm after I got home from work. About an hr and a half in my wife and I told them that if they could skip to the options and cost portion it would be appreciated... another hr later we finally get our quote. After some negotiations we spent 30k for a new roof/gutters. After a month of nothing we finally get a date scheduled. The first day of the install the old roof is partially removed before I get a call at work from an office clerk saying that I now need to spend another 7500 for new wood sheets. Apparently my roof is only 3/8 plywood and code calls for 5/8. I asked to speak with a manager and am told they will call me back.... no call. The next day I call again and ask to speak with someone. After the 3rd call I finally get a call back. Even though the original sales people knew what I had on my roof for wood (I had shown them a section I had cut out for a fan) they still wanted to charge me more now. I felt like my roof was being held hostage. I was told that the warranty would not be available due to wood not being changed. After getting very upset and frustrated and many calls, the general manager agreed to email me a letter saying they will still honor the original warranty. I have no faith that if I had to get something repaired that they would actually honor it. After that was finally taken care of the team of guys installing the roof got it done pretty quickly using our original wood. Our roof still is not up to code but tristate was ok with that mainly due to the fact we didn't want to give them any more money. Tristate did take it upon themselves to go ahead and contact the finance company and applied for a larger loan to cover the wood... without asking us first! Needless to say we were not happy about that. In the end the roof looks fine. The install team was very pleasant. The gutters were installed with no issues. If I could go back I would definitely not go with this company and I would never recommend them. I have already told a few friends who need roofs not to use them. read more

Tristate installed siding on our home October through December, 2016. It was a terrible experience. From the disingenuous sales pitch to the lack of communication, through poor quality work, and ending in their complete lack of follow through on promises of remediation. Did not follow up about the install. After signing our contract, it took two months and repeated phone calls (which were not returned) to get the install scheduled. Finally received a call late morning the day they wanted to drop materials at our house. Promised no payment due until 30 days after completion, but they submitted our loan to the credit union for payment before the work had even started. Told me the loan would be cancelled and re-submitted. This didn't happen, and they didn't tell me the loan was active, leading to collection calls from the credit union. Used subcontractors, despite their promise of using in-house employees. In fact, when we started complaining about the quality, they had to ask me for the contractor name and number. They didn't even know who was working on my house. These same workers disappeared for more than a week, and most other times worked just a couple hours per day. This led to an extremely long install - nearly 2.5 months. Broke a water pipe during install, damaging the floor. Promises from three individuals that they would repair and/or replace. To this date, they have not followed through. Overall poor quality. Crooked cuts on boards. Unfinished details. Caulking issues. Left construction unfinished. Did not clean up our yard. Asked to meet with owner. He set an appointment date. He did not show (there was snow, but we managed to make it in). Nor did the salesperson. Nor did the job manager. Met with sales manager and was promised follow-up on our quality complaints and ruined floor. Six weeks have gone by and he has not contacted us yet. Unbelievable. Poor quality, lack of communication, untrustworthy. They say they stand behind their products and their work, but words are wind. I recommend you stay clear of TriState. read more

Some folks seemed to have problems with this place, we certainly didn't. Had a leak in our roof when it was raining so called several places. We thought we had a guy lined up, he couldn't get to us for a week so I called this business. They sent a person out this morning, he went up on the roof, left to get the parts he needed to fix the vents that were cracked and poof we were done. Only complaint I had was when I called after the men had left to give them my credit card, it was obvious that the gentleman answering the call was working from home and pretty unprofessional to have your kids bothering you on a business transaction. Here we are about 8 weeks later and I haven't heard anything from the company despite reaching out via email. I reached out to them again on their web form and got a response back. ATTENTION: LONG POST.... I filled out an online form for inquiry to replacement windows. I am specifically searching for Pella or Anderson, I still have not made up my mind and am actively seeking estimates. TriState Roofing contacted me nearly immediately and scheduled an appointment for the following evening. Nick showed up, nice enough guy, and went to work. I told him I am also doing my siding, and he quickly informed me that they do siding as well. So, what the heck, separate a siding estimate for me as well. About an hour or so later he was complete with his assessment of my home. Explained to me that my windows are failing but my sills have yet to read any moisture on his gauge, so I am at the right point to get this job done. Next, he said, that he would have to get back with me on the siding. However, the windows would be 42 or so.......I responded "hundred?" to which he said, "no, thousand", I nearly fell out of my chair laughing waiting for him to give me a straight answer, however, his facial expression did not change, and he doubled down on it. Reinforced with his "16 years of experience" never had this happen before. -my fault, probably came our more offensive and ruder than I thought it had, as I thought he was joking with me. I did not sleep well last night, so today I sent an email after reviewing Pella, Anderson and other wiki sites online to make sure I was using the correct "jargon." I wrote something to the effect that we were probably talking passed one another with language that wasn't grounded. He mentioned this "glass pack" thing that I have not been able to find online reference on any glass manufacturers website. "Pocket or Insert" windows, however, do come up and seems to be an industry standard. Pocket or Insert windows are not a full replacement window, minus the sashes. This is what is normally used when you don't have to rebuild the framing around the window. He was very quick to point out that I needed to contact Milgard for a Glass pack as they do not do glass packs there. I asked what a glass Pack was, and it sounded like what you might do if a rock went through your window while mowing the law, taking out glass etc. I explained that is not what I want but want what is commonly referred to in the industry as a pocket or insert window. He referenced his 16 years of doing this and that he hasnt had this communication problem before. Ok, I get off the phone, and frustrated, look on Pella website. I find a customer service number and end up talking to Savannah at Pella. First off she was patient, second super friendly, and third, never heard of a glass pack before either. I explained the events to her, as I was looking for Pella windows. She directed me to contact another vendor that knows what I am looking for. I also mentioned that Nick was quick to point out that the windows he sells are not available at Lowes or whatever, Savannah, again informed me that all Pella retailers sell the same Pella windows. No difference. So if you are still reading my story, I am sorry to have led you along this long, I an not confident that Tristate knows more than roofing, maybe they should stay to their business name? Maybe get educated before they show up to someone's house to drop a $42K estimate that the homeowner was not prepared to hear. Do your due diligence before you contact or contract with this company, I hope your experience was better than mine. read more

So we didn't end up getting a roof with Tristate, and this is why... - They were TWICE the price of the other three bids we got (the other three were all comparable) - They explicitly told me that they would only do a soft hit on my credit to run to see if I qualified for the loan to finance the roof. - When I called to complain about the credit hit, the salesman that gave me his card didn't even hesitate to throw his colleague (two of them came out to pitch to us) under the bus - They told us to call within 3 business days if we wanted to cancel the initial hold on the quote. We called, they then said we had to sign and fax over paperwork or drop it by. I was not impressed with their cost. I was not impressed with their tactics. I was impressed by their banter and their setup. But beyond that, the entire thing now feels sleazy and uncomfortable. read more

Working with TriState was a nightmare from start to finish. A contract was signed the first of July 2018 and we have finally, after dozens of complaints and phone calls, written the final check to pay them off the first week of November. * The work crew was not professional. They were drinking on the job. They left their lunch garbage, including beer bottles, thrown away in the yard. They left half food eaten in the attic. * They did not clean up the roofing debris at the end of each day therefore causing a safety hazard. * The work crew caused property damage to a beautiful old lace leaf maple tree by dropping roofing material on it and mangled three gutters. * The workmanship was extremely poor quality, so poor in fact when we complained to Tristate they sent out an inspector to review the work and sequentially fired the crew. Oh did I mention they installed the wrong roof! TriState did offer to tear it off and replace it with the correct material, but by that time we were so frustrated we did not want them on the property at all. * They were very slow in the response to our concerns. They did not follow up when they said they would. In essence, they are not to be trusted when it comes to their word, professionalism or workmanship. * At my insistence an Addendum to the original contract was prepared to address the necessary repairs. When we received their Addendum it was unacceptable as written due to the vague language of "doing the service thing that was agreed". After much negotiation, we chose to keep the "wrong" roof, the necessary repairs were made and we settled for a 30% discount. As a side note, weeks after the work crew was fired, one of them showed up at our door asking if we would support them in a court case against TriState because TriState was not paying them for the work they had done. read more

Untrustworthy Showed me the roof materials and basically told me I was an idiot for not going for the high class roof they offer Then tried to impress me with the company history and all the licenses and permits and certificates they have or maybe have because all of them in his binder are expired! He claimed that he just started working for Tristate and didn't have any time to update them... This is total b.s! After a couple weeks one of they're sales guys calls me up with this amazing offer, they could do the job for a lot less because they're commercial division had room to do a couple roofs in my area He explained that he probably had to let some guys go if he didn't get more work because the season was winding down. How dare him to put that on a costumer! I can see why people fold when they put that kind of pressure on you. He called me back later and I kindly declined the offer, he said even for 5 grand less? I tried to be polite to the sales guys, and informed them that I had no interest in their company, and I filed a complaint with the state about them. I asked them each time to inform their supervisor that I don't want anyone from that company at my home ever again. They came 7 days in a row (all different sales guys). The last one, I answered the door just long enough to tell him I was calling the cops for harassment, and I have all of these encounters saved on my home security cameras. So, it's almost 8:30 at night. Why did we just have a salesman come to our open front door and yell "KNOCK KNOCK!" when we CLEARLY have a "no soliciting" sign in view? My husband (politely) spoke to the salesman who was insistent on giving us a "free 4 minute estimate" on the spot. After my husband declined for a second time, he finally had to tell "Russell" we were expecting a baby at any time so he would leave. After that he STILL asked if we would be home tomorrow so he could stop by! If there was any possibility that we might be spending thousands of dollars with this company to have our roof replaced, he just blew it. If I am going to get estimates on a new roof, I'm going to want a knowledgable professional to come out and actually inspect our roof to see exactly what it will need/not need. This is an absolutely terrible business practice and whomever sent them out at this time of the evening on a MONDAY NIGHT needs to figure it out because their flyer has already made its way into my recycling bin. read more

TriState Roofing was THE MOST professional and reasonabley priced company that we interviewed to do our roof! We had three other companies come and give us bids that were higher than we were comfortable with because they weren't listening to what we really wanted. Now I am in sales myself, HOWEVER........In 22 years of representing clients in real estate transactions, I KNOW that the needs of my client are what is important......NOT my pocket book, theirs! I was fed up with dealing with over priced companies so I delayed the TriState appt four times over at least an eight month period. They professionally accepted my request to call me back in a couple of months every time they called. Finally we were ready to talk to with yet another roofing company. Matt came over to talk with us and we were impressed from the first impression. He was relaxed and casual without the stupid up sale crap AND he listened to what we wanted!! Needless to say, we got the price we needed and the work was professional! They were 6 weeks out in starting our job which was good in my books.....That means they are busy ! They did a great job completing our roof in just two days. The clean up on our yard from the old roof was stellar. Highly recommend them and have Matt come out to do your bid. Their door to door salesmen are extremely unprofessional and downright rude. My door bell rang after 6 pm on a weeknight and instead of not answering for some reason I opened the door. The man at the door immediately pitched me his little speech and then asked if I wanted my roof looked at since they were already doing work for a neighbor of mine and would be in my area. Instead of turning him away right off the bat ( I should have) I let him finish and then said maybe if I see them around, he started asking for my information not just my name but last name email phone number and I just got an uncomfortable vibe so I politely let him know that I wasn't interested. The guy was extremely pushy asking me why not and that it's an appointment so he needed my info, again I declined. As he walked away he was saying "omg ok whatever" then proceeded to crumple up the paper he was filling out and threw it in our yard! The next day it snowed and there were no roofers in our neighborhood and the following week there weren't any either. So this man lied, then pressured me, and threw his trash all over my yard bc I didn't give him my business. If these are the kind of people you choose to represent your company I will make sure to never use you for my roofing needs! read more

I called Tristate today to schedule free estimate on a roof. During the call I knew they were going to be "high pressure" after she said that if I have a, spouse or significant other, that both of us had to be there for the free estimate. I told her that i'd be the only one at the estimate since I am getting three estimates before I make my decision on which roofing company to hire. She said they do not do estimates for potential clients who do not have all desicion makers at the time of the estimate. read more
