    42. Beef Teriyaki Bowl NOT Recommended. Vegetable Homemade Soup
    Lynnann W.

Got via Door Dash delivery. Food order was accurate but disappointing. The teriyaki flavor was nonexistent, beef was dry and not a quality cut, the avocado was sketchy/not fresh and the whole thing smelled slightly spoiled/unpleasant. It was inedible and not cheap. The Club sandwich presentation was nice. Bland, salty and the bread became mushy after first bite. Ended up just picking through the fillings. Onion rings are some non-descriptive frozen variety. Super disappointing.

Found this little gem while in rheumatology neighborhood. We ordered the tuna salad on wheat with onion rings and turkey with cheese on sour dough with fries. The sandwich fillings were very generous and the breads were nice and fresh. Onion rings were crispy and so were the fries. Over all, a sandwich shop I will add to my rotation.

What a great little cafe! I love trying all the local mom and pop type sandwich shops and haven't been compelled to write a review for many of them, but this one definitely deserves it! I found them on UberEats and decided to try them out. You can tell they take pride in their product and presentation. My tuna sandwich was delicious with a great crunch from the celery bits and the veggie wrap was fresh and tasty! What great value that they come with a pickle and your choice of a side salad, fries, or chips.

By far the best bang for your buck in the area. I order something different each time I visit and it's always delicious. They serve made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and burgers. The food comes with a side salad, chips, fries, or sweet potato fries. The sandwiches are so big that I'm completely full after eating it so I save my side for later. There is always a steady flow of customers, and at times there is a line out the door. Regardless of how busy they get, it's never a long wait and the food is always quality. Everyone who works there is super nice. They have seating inside, with AC. They also have tables with umbrellas outside. It's located in the TriQuest corporate center off Barranca and Technology. Once you find it, you'll keep returning.

It's a small mama's and papa's cafe with various foods. Great customer service and very friendly. Food portions are definitely worth the price. I definitely recommend this cafe to friends and family.

I love coming to this place for lunch. A lot of their sandwiches are good, and burger is tasty. My favorite menu item is their veggie wrap. The vegetables are very fresh, and tasty. The size of the wrap is very generous, and side can either come with chips, fries, soup or a salad. Parking is good. Seating is decent.

I went for a weekday lunch and there was no wait even though it was busy inside, so +1 for ample seating. They have raised prices a buck or two, but they do have BOGO coupons on their Facebook that I was able to make use of. The cashier seemed familiar with the offer at first, but then instructed me to do some random stuff, like to respond to the Facebook Messenger chatbot with my numeric total charge. This was not necessary; you just need to select the prompt that says "Redeem in-store." I enjoy salad so I had a good experience, but a lot of the offerings fell flat for me that day. The shredded carrot salad is usually my favorite thing to get but it tasted so weird. I don't know if the recipe was changed but it was very sour, maybe too much vinegar? My partner likes the chicken noodle soup but told me there was basically no chicken in it, and I had a similar time trying to find any slivers of egg white in what seemed like a serving tray full of mashed yolks. The pizza and garlic bread were a lot cheesier than they are at Rancho where they are more dry and cardboardy. I think most people would enjoy that but I found the taste and smell of the butyric acid to be too overpowering, personally. On the plus side, the pasta was good. I always like to add some cheese and vegan bacon bits to the spaghetti. I would also recommend getting a brownie or cornbread muffin and putting some soft serve on it to end your meal. There's lots of fun things you can do to customize your food here, which is one of the things draws me back, even if I think I'll stick to the Rancho place going forward.

She knows I love sweets and do a lot of baking myself, however, I HAVE NEVER TASTED A CUPCAKE THIS DELICIOUS........EVER!! It's truly moist, "flakey" if you could call a cupcake flakey at all, has nooks and crannies as I broke it in half (thinking I'd only eat half and save half for later)... and honestly, lemon is NOT my favorite of anything if I had to pick. So for this baker saying this lemon olive cupcake is the VERY BEST cupcake OF ALL CUPCAKES that I've ever tasted, is saying A LOT. I'm totally a cake person, so the slight glaze on it is more than enough for me! She also bought me a carrot cake cupcake. It's good, but not above and beyond to make a name in this review. There are plenty of carrot cake recipes and this one is a 7 on a scale of 1-10, IMO. ... but the lemon rates 38 on a scale of 1-10. LOL

Located in the Hmart plaza in Portola ~ between Culver Dr and Irvine Blvd, Blueberry Social takes up a decent-sized space, right smack in the middle of the plaza. It's one of those places where you walk up to the counter, order your food & go find a seat to have it delivered. Thankfully, there is plenty of indoor & outdoor seating to choose from, but depending on the time that you dine, I can see how it can get quite crowded. Service is quick & efficient and the staff was friendly ~ providing food & drink recs, since everything looked good and it's hard to decide. The menu is American comfort food w/ a modern twist. The vibe is casual and I love the aesthetically pleasing decor (esp. the cute pinkish suede couches/bench tables inside) ~ it's quite contemporary & calming. The food? Super yums! Everything was very fresh and tasty. It actually felt worth the type (which is rare lol). The portions were solid, and the presentation was definitely IG-worthy..go check out my pics & see for yourself. I've personally been here a couple of times ~ either with friends, w/ the hubs, and/or with my fam, but I always gravitate to ordering the same dish..the SoCal loko moko ($19). Everything..from the island style garlic rice, roasted mushroom onion, brown gravy, angus loco beef patty, Kona mac, and sunny side up golden yolk eggs is just perfection. I've honestly never had a loko moko before (even tho I've been to Hawaii many of times), but I'm sooo glad that THIS was my first, cuz now the bar is set and I have high standards to compare to, moving forward. I just love everything about it..so so YUMS! OMG..get it w/ the blueberry crumble latte and you will die with smile. I swear that coffee is sooo addicting. Who knew blueberry crumble would pair well with coffee, but it does and I'm hooked. 10/10 would come back for another brunch + coffee moment. RxFoodie recommend!!!

Hawaiian island pancake -- liked this, sweet enough for me without the syrup. B.B tots -- very crispy which I liked, but other than that, they're just tots. They have a huge breakfast/brunch menu and they have separate lunch/dinner menu as well! They also had a lot of interesting drinks, but we didn't order any this time. I ordered the Peruvian steak sandwich to go, and unfortunately it was the messiest sandwich I've ever gotten from them. It was so overloaded with sauce that the bread became completely soggy, so nothing held together. Every bite had the filling falling out, making it really difficult (and frustrating) to eat. It honestly felt like it was put together in a rush without much care. Because of that, I didn't enjoy it the way I normally do, which was disappointing since I usually love this sandwich. I still like Mendocino Farms overall, but based on this experience, I'd suggest being cautious at this location--maybe ask for the sauce on the side if you're ordering to go.
