Tripolis offers excellent baked goods at competitive pricing. I purchased mini desserts from them and bread for my rehearsal dinner and they also made my wedding cake. They did an amazing job with my cake. The cake was delicious and looked perfect. It was a fraction of the cost of other bakeries in the area. For the decorations all I did was bring leftover fresh flowers from my bouquets and centerpieces and told them that I wanted some flowers at the bottom and middle layers and leave the top empty. I had showed them some pictures of styles that I liked and they made it beautiful! I'm going to go back for baked goods for a bridal shower. Highly recommend! read more

The workers greet you as soon as you walk in and are very patient as you walk up and down trying not to buy the entire store. Amazing extra-cheese (provolone) pizza, meat pies, whoopie pies, cannolis, cake. Special-order a red velvet cake with white/sugar/normal frosting, rather than cream cheese frosting, and you will be in heaven. Only weird thing is that their whoopie pies have mysteriously changed flavor for the worse; I think they started using different cream filling for them at some point fairly recently. read more

I bought a loaf of Italian bread, soooo fresh and yummy. Then 6 cannolis they filled fresh right there. As good as Mike's pastry's in the North End. And a piece o f coconut cake that was divine! I LOVE this place!!!! I first came here back when I'm was going to college (late 1990's) NECCO (campus is close by) & I fell in love with the pizza! Every time I come home to visit I always take a drive to Lawrence to get some pizza! I've gone to the Salisbury location but for some reason it doesn't taste the same & isn't good @ all! I have no problem driving here to get some pizza! The sauce is sweet but not too sweet & the cheese is yummy! The crust is just right! Not too thin or too thick. I usually get extra slices to eat later & have them add extra cheese. Staff is always friendly & fast. Pizza is cooked after ordering. You can even watch them make the pizza's from scratch. The area is open & you can see everything! I will place my order & then wander over to the bakery (right next door) & I usually end up buying some sweets! Had the Napoleon bar.....OMG it was amazing & I haven't stopped thinking about it since I ate it!!! I wish I had gotten two! I got my Mom the Eclair & her BF a peanut butter cookie & both said they were delicious! You can also buy frozen pizza to take home too! Bring some change or dollar bills if your thirsty because they serve soda & water but in a Coke machine. Seating is limited & not good for a big group unless your taking it to go! We recently moved to Lawrence and quickly found this little bakery a few short blocks from our apartment. What a dangerous location! The cannolis are filled while you wait. Yes, that means they don't sit there (like in those other bakeries in the heart of Boston) for any amount of time at all. Bova (in Boston) was my favorite cannoli. Tripoli takes the title for me now. We got a few other pastries, a rum something-or-other, and a whoopie pie. They were heavily packed with buttercream. I am not a buttercream fan, but that is not the only reason I am knocking it. It was a LOT of buttercream. I had never had a whoopie pie with buttercream, but it wasn't pleasant. The pastry part of the pie and rum cake were delicious, but they were definitely ruined by the over 50% (volume estimate) of the cream. Prices are reasonable, possibly cheaper than Bova, definitely cheaper than Mike's. We will be back for cannolis and to try some more pastries (without frosting!). I don't doubt that I can give this establishment another star after trying some more of their not so heavily butter creamed treats. read more

What can you say Tripoli's Bakery is a staple if you grew up in Lawrence, or have every been to the Fest of the Three Saints Fesitval in September. Their bakery is great Italian Stick, Scali bread, rolls for a great sausage pepper onion sandwich. But the desserts really TAKE THE CAKE, macaroons are moist and so many different kinds. They are a life saver, when ever we go to a party and didn't make a dish to bring we stop at Tripoli's for a box or two of Cannolis and they ARE ALWAYS A BIG HIT. The last time we went to the one in North Andover, and got a Chocolate Ganash covered Cheesecake, which WAS PHENOMENAL. Cannot go without mentioning the pizza area, open on Sunday's and beats driving to the beach for some of that sweet sauce pizza, by the slice or call ahead for a sheet. read more

This is the best of the best! I came to visit and my cousins bought all these baguettes from their place. Vietnamese people just can't get enough of baguettes. We had 3 large paper bags full and it wasn't enough for one day. The bread is crisp on the outside and just so ridiculously soft and fluffy on the inside. We used it to dip in beef stew, but I could have eaten that bread by itself all day. I can easily say they were the best baguettes I had ever had in my life and I've had a crack load of them growing up. (again Viet family) The baguettes are also very large and puffy! They're so versatile, you can turn them into anything, breakfast with butter, sliced for bruschetta, dipped in stew, fried, topped with savory meat, the list goes on. Did I mention they're also CHEAP? Great quality bread with a small town price tag, true love. I wish we had you guys over here in the Bay Area. Come to California please! read more

i have to admit i was lazy and needed a convenient pickup location. But Tripoli is lazier than I am. This was a $75 special order cake and it truly looks and tastes like the frozen Market Basket cakes. The ordering process was a PITA for several reasons, i had to order in Lawrence even though I needed to pick up in NAndover. I was cut in line by a more regular customer and even though it was super quiet i waited a long time to be helped. Everything I asked for was intially denied including the shape, cake flavor and pick up location even though all of these turned out to be completely normal.This is their standard overly sweet shortening frosting bc their best frosting is more $. I asked for lots of color and paint splatter I was told that would cost more $. It was a layer of chocolate a layer of yellow cake. Frosting between the layers. The decoration is so rushed, skimpy, boring and flawed :( AND I asked for bright pink not red. I would have loved more colors but again more than 3 colors of splatter would have been more $. It was such a struggle for the woman taking my order even the colors and design even though I had a photo of cake design and the exact color inspiration. Such a bummer. I should have tried harder. I have never ordered from a small bakery locally but I have had fantastic custom cakes from Piro's in Methuen. The ordering was so much more personal and they REALLY listen to what you want and they want to make you the cake you want. They say yes to every crazy request for lots of color and when you tell them to be creative they do it and it feels like they want to make you happy. If you want a great, truly custom cake go elsewhere. read more
