The church itself is tucked away in the neighborhood barely distinguishable from the perfectly manicured mansions on either side. I've visited the Lotus Baha'i temple in Delhi before, and the building in Chicago is significantly smaller and less of an architectural marvel. However, unlike the temple in Delhi, the house of worship in Chicago is not a tourist destination. This allows for more serene contemplation, away from the hustle and bustle of the main city. The Baha'i hous of worship is easily accessible by public transport and also has ample parking. The restrooms in the welcome center are spotless. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the House of Worship. It's not a typical tourist destination, but is instead truly a place for contemplation and silence.

The house of worship includes a temple, gardens, and a Welcome Center. The welcome center has restrooms, a bookstore, and a mini museum filled with pictures and plaques explaining the Baha'i faith and its history throughout the world. The walls are the same color white as The outside and religious scripts are written across the walls in English and Arabic.

After 18 years at this church, we have grown in our faith, made wonderful friendships, taken advantage of many opportunities to serve and have received support during difficult times. Our children have been enriched by the youth group and other programs that helped them develop their spiritual identity and feel the joy of service to others. We found all of those things at WPC and became official members a year later. This is a church that inspires us to action and has given us ways to teach our kids about helping the homeless, hungry, and lonely in the north shore. The focus isn't so much on the church as a building, but as a group of people who can make a difference. During quarantine, the weekly service has been broadcast on Vimeo so our family still has a routine each week for some spiritual reflection together.

Finding a multi-cultural multi-generational church on the north shore of Chicago is probably very very rare, but here's SVBC. The current senior pastor, Pastor Tim, bases his sermons on scripture (how it should be). The Gospel is preached every single Sunday, which is so so so important, as it's the center of our purpose! This is not a feel good prosperity church as so many are today. SVBC has repeatedly convicted me, drawn me so much closer to Jesus, and given me a family. I am so forever thankful for this church. The acoustics, lighting, and comfort were perfect for the performers and audience alike. On the hottest day of the year to date, the AC worked great and we were all very comfortable. This review is regarding the rental of the Upper Commons space at Glenview Community Church. Our…read moreorganization rented out this space for a group of 48 members at our annual summer social. The Upper Commons is great for groups as it is a beautiful, bright and airy space with many windows and tall ceilings. There is a newly renovated area with open granite counters and a mini refrigerator with storage that is welcoming and useful for serving drinks and food that overlooks the seating area. Dave was a joy to work with in every way, from showing us the space and signing contracts to assisting with the set up of our tables and seating on the day of the event. When a mishap occurred on our end, he was very gracious about it. Everyone had a wonderful time at our event, and this venue was perfect.
