Tracing scripture back to the original language it was written in and explaining what those words meant at that time. Very helpful and gave me a true appreciation for the Bible. I really thought I had previously left a review, but I might be mistaking it with the review I…read moreposted for Community Christian's other campus. Either way, here we go! I've been attending since late 2010/early 2011 and have been a member for some time now, so I think I've had enough time to marinate over my thoughts and feelings about Community Christian. As you can guess, it's likely to be a positive review since I've been in attendance for so long. One of the first few things that you notice when visiting Community Christian is exactly that.... the community. It sounds cliché, yes, but it's the truth and a common theme you'll find when talking to pretty much anyone in attendance. Smiles are real, hugs/handshakes/fist bumps are in abundance. Conversations are meaningful and filled with genuine interest. Meaning, when people ask "how're you doing?", they're actually interested in the real answer rather than just a "Oh, good good, and you?", response. Generosity is another thing you'll notice. The mission statement is "Helping people find their way back to God". This mission can only exist when generosity flows. Immediately your mind will go to $$$$, but that's not the only way to be generous. Something as simple as the food and coffee available on Sunday mornings goes a long way. There is a team of dedicated volunteers who prepare many many hot meal options, snacks, beverages, etc., on Sunday mornings. Rarely will you encounter a cliché single pink box of donuts. (But when the kitchen staff allow themselves to take a week off, there ain't nothing wrong with some doughy goodness!!!) In addition to food on Sunday mornings, Community Christian partners with Martha's Kitchen on Thursday evenings to provide hot to-go meals to anyone who shows up, no questions asked. (As long as supplies last) That's all within the realm of the church campus. If you look outward, the desire to serve time local community is HUGE! Teacher gift baskets for nearby school teachers, regular communication with city leaders to help figure out how to best serve the residents of Morgan Hill, maintenance projects to help clean up and beautify various areas in town. The list goes on! Recently with our previous pastor stepping down to pursue other ministry opportunities, Will Sawkins stepped into the role of lead Pastor and hasn't missed a beat yet! The atmosphere has been really energetic since he stepped into the role and there has been a steady stream of new faces coming every week. (Many of them returning and becoming "familiar faces", yay!) Being one of the drummers on the worship team, I'm biased towards the music ministry and love it. Since music is very subjective, you'll just have to come have a listen for yourself. If I missed something I will update my post. I'm sure there's plenty I missed right now.

It's odd for me to review a church, because:…read more 1) I'm agnostic, probably leaning towards Atheist on a bad day. Um. Yeah. 2) I don't ever go to church anymore. The last time I went with my aunt I laughed so hard I had to sprawl out across a few seats and lay down to hide it. 3) I hate church. 4) Repeat 1-3. It's especially weird that I'm reviewing this one, because I was raised Catholic. Crazy European Catholic. Nuns all over the place. But I suppose when my mom realized my much older brother was Atheist anyway, she saw it as a lost cause and gave up on me. Now my younger brother is Atheist as well. However, my school friend/neighbor went to this church, and brought me as a guest once. I was a little more naive (I don't know if that's a good word...?) when I was younger, and hadn't really come to any religious conclusion. I don't think anyone ever does, though. So I went to this church and enjoyed it for what it was worth. I found out that my friend Amanda from school on the complete opposite side of town, whom I hadn't seen in forever, went to this church. Not only that, her grandparents ran the whole thing. Her grandma was the sweetest lady I'd ever met. I imagine she has passed away, so I'm not sure what happened with the church. I think her family runs it. But this is the only church I ever enjoyed THAT much. They constantly had activities. We got to bake weird cookies, sing songs that aren't boring or insane. And they picked us all up in a huge van and genuinely cared about each and every one of us. And you knew EVERYONE. I hate churches that are so large and impersonal. This church was not like that whatsoever.

Here's why we love it:…read more1) the leadership - values prayer, humility, transparency and are just down to earth and God focused 2) Sunday morning - teaching through the bible, excellent worship, community 3) Community - kind, loving community with servant hearts. My family has been blessed by the support we received over the last year+ as I battle cancer 4) Focus on serving our community and missionary support 5) My kids are loved there and growing in Jesus P.S. In response to Kai's review, it sounds like she may have attended many years ago. I never met Amanda or her family and I've been there awhile, so I am guessing that it may have been before the current leadership. The history of the church is pretty neat to hear about. There has been such a legacy of faith and prayer that has seen the church through periods of growth, decline and then renewal.

Small, highly gifted in the prophetic, and the one that changed my life through Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Trinity Christian Center has been born out of the Lighthouse outreach ministry. In 2002 Pastor Shalea Adams came into the ministry as Director of Outreach and planted a church within the outreach six months later. Over the past six years the church has grown and become a place of community and fellowship where the love of God is shared through the hope of salvation in Jesus Christ. As a result the church has now grown into an independent work able to both sustain and answer the call of God to go forth and preach the gospel and disciple those being saved. Therefore, as we celebrate this achievement, we now take on new responsibility by continuing this work guided by the Holy Spirit and in January 2007 we made the transition into the Assemblies of God, the largest pentecostal denomination.

I am a landlord and I rented a room to a member of this congregation. I called the Senior Pastor of this church to explain what happened, and he immediately contacted the church member to talk about the problem. I sincerely appreciate that. I highly recommend this church. If a pastor cares that much about the image and character of the Christian community and its members to do that, then this, in my opinion is a church worth speaking highly of.

Due to my negative experience I do not recommend this ministry at all. I experienced an immense lack of integrity from the leadership that I encountered which was very shocking for a church a to conduct themselves this way. A church is where you are supposed to feel love and acceptance this was not the case. If you do decide to go to this church be very cautious and please pray.
