After a wonderful dinner, we returned to Da Bacco for lunch and dinner the next day to see if our…read morefirst night had been unusual. Things went from very good to great. Stefano not only continued sharing his knowledge of Sicilian wines but recommended Enoteca Picone to further our experience which was perfect advice. Lunch for me was fried octopus, which was 4 legs, each 6" (150 mm.) long and crispy on the outside and tender but slightly chewy on the inside like great fried chicken. I had seen a plate the night before and actually dreamed of them. They did not disappoint. She chose another iteration of cozze from the specials menu. These mussels were steamed in beer with fresh ginger and were comparably good to the sautéed but slightly more subtle. It turns out that dishes on the specials menu can work their way onto the standard menu if the patrons insist and the chef came out to ask for a comparison. We repeated the contorni plate of chef's choice vegetables that repeated the potato slices but added grill zucchini and oven dried onion that was sweet with all of the bitter components gone and the consistency of a very thin potato chip. We tried to rein in for dinner with pasta only. I had the Sicilian classic Pasta a la Norma with strong fresh tomato, soft eggplant, and sweet onion. It demanded scarpetta even with a white linen table cloth. She had pasta with prawns that was subtle and delicate with a lighter tomato sauce with herbs. We repeated the wines from the night before. We left feeling sad to think we probably wouldn't be back on this trip but smiling from the stomach up.

I decided to have a bucket of clams, awesome! Then in addition, the prosciutto with melon, also the carbonara which had thicker noodles. I dont know that I necessarily care for that, but it was yummy, and so flavorful. I loved it. The service was very direct slightly pretentious in a feel good way. So fun and such a good way to end your night in Italy.

Came here with higher hopes. First off I came for the linguine con vongole! Prices from the menu…read moreboth online and reviews seemed cheaper - the linguine con vongole was not on the physical menu but they said they could make spaghetti con vongole for me. This should have been the same price - but they charged me 4-5 Euro more. This cost more than all the other seafood pastas that were on the menu!! The taste was also hardly there; I could make this way better at home. I also found a small hair AFTER I had finished the majority of my dish. The wine I got was the last bit of the bottle, so I got skimped on the pour, which I was upset about. I kept looking around at others ordering wine and they all got 3/4 of an inch more in the wine glass than I did. I was expecting him to come back with a new bottle to finish the acceptable pour - but nope. With the cooperto to charge and charge for tap water (which I know is everywhere in Italy) this bill cost me a lot more than I was expecting for the service and quality of the food. I had more food at lunch with a nicer ambiance which cost me less than this spot! Don't think I would recommend this spot to friends visiting unfortunately.

Dinner at Valentino is very delicious at a good price. Yes…read more I highly recommend grabbing a pizza (all look yummy) that is cooked in their big brick pizza oven. I also recommend getting the wide egg noodle dish (Pappardelle Dello Chef)--it's creamy and tasty. Our whole spread of food, drinks, and dessert was not expensive at all so we were happy about that. While Motta Sant'Anastasia is a sleepy town, they still got some good eateries and Valentino is definitely one of them.

Def One of the really good places to eat in Motta Sant'Anastasia!!!…read moreThis place is white table cloth decor but still home style feel. The staff are always wonderful and greet you with bright smiles as soon as you walk in. This was the first place we stopped when coming in after a LONG two days of traveling and bright smiles were definitely what we needed to see lol. The first thing I had to get used to was that all the restaurants (unless you want to eat panini n pizza every day) open around 5-6pm. There is practically NOTHING decent open before that! People here eat MUCH later! When we arrived around 630 we were one of the only families there, we left about 8 and it was STARTING to fill up!! We've been here twice while here. The first time I didn't get pictures but the second time I got a couple shots of the two AMAZING dishes we had. Pappardelle with a garlic sauce and muscles n clams, and a Veal dish with Mushroom cream sauce. I sopped up this rich mushroom sauce with their delicious bread!! I also highly recommend the sautéed spinach (tho if you aren't used to so much oil on your food ask them Not to put it on after they cook it!) Also recommend the mixed grilled seafood plate. The seafood here is Very Fresh!! Love you guys!! We'll be back in October!
