This is an impressive place, bigger than many assisted-living type facilities, and with a lot going on inside. There are two halves, for actual assisted-living and for more independent living. In the middle is a large social area; when I arrived there was a choir singing, with many residents enjoying the show. There are plenty of common areas and activities, including music, crafts, even a pool and hot tub. The dining areas are nice, and the food smelled great as I walked past. The menus have some standards plus daily specials. The rooms vary from small studios to large multi-bedroom units. I saw one corner one-bedroom with a view of a nice pond, a balcony, and a large living room- would make a fancy apartment. Others were smaller, just like a hotel room, and others are larger. All are bright and open. As with other facilities, there is pretty much a sliding scale of care, from minimal to full. Cost vary accordingly. Again, as with others, this type of place is not cheap. But, you do get a lot for what you're paying. The residents seem happy, and as active as they can be, or want to be. Plenty to do. A nice place to live. I hope I can afford someplace like this. Check your insurance and savings, and get long-term-care insurance, so you don't have to worry about it. read more

I'm not sure how Brookdale Trillium treats their residents inside, but I know how they treat their on-site pond and the wildlife that makes their home at the pond.... DEVASTATINGLY poor. Another duck dead on the shore today after it's been eating in the pond's trash corner for a week. I've done my best to clean up Trillium's pond on my own, voiced multiple concerns to Trillium's corporate office and local managers, and Trillium has done nothing to maintain their pond and refuse to hire professionals to maintain and clean their pond. There is trash (cups, straws, Styrofoam, plastic bags, etc) lining the entire pond. There is no fountain so the algae buildup is terrible. It's not a nice sight to see for the residents out their window and even worse when you get up close and see the conditions within the tall grass and under the trees. While trying to clean up trash from the water in the NE corner, the scent of death and decay were alarming and strong. Plastic bags, small pieces of styrofoam, and more were lining the water and under the water. We saw 3 dead baby ducks floating in the trash on this day. When I spoke to the on-site manager, her concerns were more about appearance and she wanted the wildlife gone. This is not where I would trust a loved one to live. A place that doesn't care about the community, the environment, the animals, and especially the healthiness of the pond that they own. Please take your elder elsewhere. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. I have been told that they don't pay their bills. The most disgusting thing is that they bring in entertainers to perform for their residents, then don't pay the entertainers. Shameful. It doesn't matter how nice it looks on the outside...it's how they run the "inside" that counts. That reflects on their integrity and business principles, or lack thereof. read more
