1 of many scrapes on the vehicle that were NEVER mentioned by Sharon/Susan. They are a scam artists.

DO NOT buy from Trident Automotive/Used Cars. The seller, Susan takes your $999 (just under $1000) on purpose so she can keep it because it's under $1000. We won a bid from this company on ebay and they make all the pictures look perfect and say the vehicles have no issues. We drove 8hrs to hopefully buy this great looking vehicle only to be shocked with a piece of junk!! It has TONS of imperfections that were never mentioned over the phone. When asked of the vehicle ran well Susan said yes. When i test drove it the engine stuttered and lost power PLUS the brakes were highly glazed and barely stopped. I was so mad and felt cheated. I did some research and found this company has lots of bad reviews on BBB and other places. You can see for yourself. If you look up kimbsav_43 on ebay she has great reviews. It must be her friends leaving positive reviews because this company on 2201 Philadelphia Road Edgewood, Md 21040 is a hustler!! I am fighting now to get my deposit back. Here is the listing, look at the photos that they posted compared to mine from today. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Ford-F-350-NO-RESERVE-78K-MILES-1-OWNER-4X4-FX4-LARIAT-DIESEL-/402580015639

Absolutely horrible experience. Before I purchased a vehicle from them, I called and was promised that the vehicle was in great working order, had no issues and was 'safe to drive across the country', after all, they wouldn't sell a vehicle that was otherwise. I was also specifically told the A/C was working great. I moved forward with the purchase and had the vehicle shipped across country at my expense ($2500). I received the vehicle 17 days after I purchased it, and upon inspection I found the tires were over 10 years old, were dry rotted and cracked, the rear brakes were rusted and in pieces and the front brakes were repaired incorrectly; the drivers side rotor and pad was replaced but not the passenger side, so it would pull very hard when braking. I also found that the A/C did not work at all, the compressor would not engage and there was no freon in the system. After replacing the tires and brakes, I took the van on a short family road trip. Upon our return home, I noticed a creaking noise and I climbed underneath the front end to find catastrophic rust damage that was NOT disclosed to me. The drivers side subframe is so severely rusted, there is less than 1/2" of metal subframe left holding it together. A bump or low speed collision would completely collapse the subframe. The rust extends to the bumper and passenger side subframe, which is missing chunks of metal. I found the vehicle on Ebay and there were plenty of pictures, even some of the undercarriage, but zero images of the front end (I believe intentionally). I was also not told about the rust during my phone conversation. I immediately called Trident and spoke with the sales manager who apologized profusely. I was given her managers email address and I sent him details of the rust as well as images. The next day the sales manager called me back and said the manager offered to buy the vehicle back minus a 20% buyback fee, and I would have to ship it back to him at my cost ($2500). If I accept this 'deal' and after the initial purchase, new tires, brakes, shipping both ways, tax/title/registration, I would lose over $9000. I then asked if he would help pay for the repair (help, not pay for all of) and he flat out refused. This is unacceptable. This vehicle was intentionally misrepresented and not as advertised. I have filed complaints with the AG of my state and his state, filed complaints with the FBI IC3, the better business bureau and am working with my own personal attorney. The vehicle is currently a lawn ornament because it is simply not safe to drive (even though they promised me it was).

    Seller listing

These scammers list vehicles on eBay under the username kimbsav_43 that they say are no reserve. They bid on their own items from other accounts and when they "sell", they leave themselves positive feedback and repost the vehicles for sale again. If they slip up and "lose" an auction, they claim the vehicle was wrecked or some other reason it can't be sold. Check their seller history. Scammers through and through - I would advise never dealing with them.

Current 2025. I came in 3 months ago and bought a Lexus GS, with only 77k miles on it. This car and all Lexus/Toyota products are known for being long lasting reliable cars. The car was clear of warning lights and seemed well taken care of as the carfax suggested. After only a few weeks - a couple hundred miles - not very long in to my ownership the cars check engine light came on. Before I took delivery, there were warning lights on the dashboard that Shawn assured me were no problem and he would fix. Shawn had the safety inspection on the vehicle inspected using Maryland guidelines. Unbeknownst to me the ABS dashboard warning lights were cleared seemingly without any repairs. Within 15 minutes after I took delivery and driving home, all of the same ABS dashboard warning lights reappeared. I quickly contacted Shawn and he assured me "he stands behind his products sold". In the next few days the brakes stopped working completely. I had an unrelated auto facility inspect the vehicle and diagnostic error codes relevant to the ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, EMERGENCY BRAKE AND related mechanical problems were detected deeming this car unsafe to drive. I had the car towed by AAA back to Shawn for repair. Shawn refused to assist me with a loaner car and kept my car for 2 weeks waiting for parts. Shawn said he was doing me a favor spending $1,100 to replace the ABS pump because the car was sold as is. Never mind that he seemingly sold me an unsafe vehicle to begin with. I finally drive 3 hours again to pickup these vehicle under the impression the car is safe. Unfortunately within 15 minutes of driving the car home, the dashboard warning lights reappeared. I immediately contacted Shawn and he insisted the car is fine. I decided I needed a new unbiased Maryland safety inspection performed immediately since the car had been driven less than 500 miles from the original inspection. The safety inspection I obtained failed based on the hydraulic brakes. In addition I was informed by the inspector that the $1,100 Shawn said he spent had in fact been a used part that wasn't the proper ABS pump so the car now has further problems. Since that time I have returned the car to Shawn. I disputed the purchase as being fraudulent. I looked up Maryland business licenses for High Rated Auto online and found that High Rated Auto closed their business license on 1/23/19 and the business is not in good standing. I also learned that Shawn previously operated under another entity name of Next Cars Sales & Rentals. This business was also dissolved in March 2019 and is not in good standing with the State of Maryland. I plan to continue filing complaints with the Attorney General for the State of Maryland, Better Business Bureau, and take legal action if necessary to minimize the chances of this happening to another consumer.

We test drove it and signed the documents 30 minutes in and out. No salesman double talk or pressure at all. We've had the car 2 months now and remain pleased at the good value. I recommended this business to anyone browsing for a reliable car and avoiding an edgy salesman taking up your time.
