Went their on Monday n I was a little nervous but when I walked in omg it was so cool. The parking was amazing. The only thing I am not used to is so many ppl being in that Tight spot. We have been a Tricks family since 2006. I have two children, and they both love attending their gymnastics classes. My daughter also attends dance lessons at the school. What I love about Tricks is their positive atmosphere. They make gymnastics fun, and not intimidating. They also teach important skills such as sign language, learning to work as a group, some musical components, as well as basic skills (waiting your turn, treating others with respect & kindness etc.). My oldest daughter started at Tricks over 9 years ago. I now have 3 daughters who have gone to Tricks. They have a great gymnastics and swim program to teach your children the fundamentals. My kids have been coming here for almost a year now and our family is really loving it. Both my kids have graduated from their original classes and went up the next level (even two). I love how all the staff are very friendly and kid-oriented. I don't feel at all that they just want my business. They have a genuine desire to be with the kids and teach them. my kids and I feel at home here, they always have a great time when they're here. I love how they find a class that fits our (my) sometimes crazy schedule. They did change coaches several times - only a minor thing for me as my kids were able to adjust well with that. read more

My 7 year old has attended multiple classes at Tricks, but gymnastics is her main thing so I'll talk about that first. She used to go to a bigger, more "official" gymnastics place close by but I felt like after a year and a half the coaches were mostly just calling it in and they weren't actually instructing, so my daughter wasn't learning. We switched to Tricks and haven't looked back. It seems like a small place for what they do, but as others have said: it is a very well oiled machine. The classes are typically an hour and a half long (except the first level) and they get ample time on all rotations (trampoline, vault, floor, bars, beam, and of course stretching). The coaches are incredible. They know how to motivate, teach, and keep the kids interested and they'll actually SHOW the kids how to do something. I feel like my daughter has learned so much more in the few months she's been at Tricks than she did in the year and a half prior. The TAG classes look super fun for high energy kiddos. If you have a teenager Tricks may be a little too kid oriented for them, but I definitely recommend them for younger children. It is such a fun atmosphere our usually overtired daughter can't help but smile and have fun. We also just had her birthday party at Tricks. It was wonderful and really economical compared to many of the other party venues and worth every penny. It was so well organized and the activities were a load of fun. The triple swing was a HUGE hit. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure I didn't have to lift a finger. I can't thank them enough for handling 15 kids as well as they did and ensuring it was a stress free event for all. Tricks doesn't charge a membership fee, so even if your child doesn't attend any classes they can still have their party there. There have been hiccups here and there, but every time I bring it to their attention they are on it. They really make their families feel valued and important and that has made a world of difference. read more

My 3 year old son attends the mini gymnastics program twice a week with Kylee and he is always so excited to go, Kylee is AMAZING with the kids! My daughter does ballet and TAG classes. They both started out in swimming lessons, but have moved on to TAG, a truly ingenious class that is a combination gymnastics/parkour. It's perfect for their ages (4 and 7). Very pleased with the Tag and Gymnastics classes (Hannah for gymnasia amazing!). My kids love these classes and I wish I could afford to take them five days a week!! You can't go wrong with this place as they offer multiple class and siblings discounts which makes them the best priced place within a forty mile radius. I couldn't be happier here! Hoping to add swim class to our weekly routine here shortly. The only downside is not having free WiFi. That should be a given but it's not. read more

This place is a well oiled machine! We've been attending tricks for years, either in gymnastics or dance and love it there! One of the best bonuses is that when you miss one of your scheduled classes, lets say it's for gymnastics, you then have a make up class to use. You can use this for ANY class! You can use it to try out a dance class or swimming lesson, which is a great risk free way to try something new. Tricks offers a "free trial class" for your first visit there. However, if you sign up, you pay for the class you just took. It's only free if you attend, and opt not to sign up. Still a great way to try it out for free, just know that if you like it...your charges start with that first one :) For gymnastics, there are multiple classes going on at the same time. There are usually mini classes, kinder classes, TAG classes, older levels (level A and up) and comp team practices happening at the same time. However, with all of this going on, it doesn't feel chaotic. Each class starts on a different apparatus and section of the gym and they rotate through based on the need for each class. I'm so impressed by how this works! It's also awesome being able to watch different coaches and learn their teaching style! The office is excellent and works super hard to make sure they are answering any and all questions you may have regarding schedule, billing, make ups or just random questions! I have both my children enrolled in Tricks' swim program. They love it. The swim coaches are really good with little kids and they usually have weekly "themes" to make the swim class more fun. (e.g. a pirate theme) The staff is friendly and helpful, too. It's very easy to schedule make-up classes, if we have to miss our regular swim lesson. My son is gaining more and more confidence with every class. My daughter went from being afraid of the water to swimming like a fish in about a year. Once she completes the advanced swim class, I plan to let her try out a dance or gymnastics class at Tricks. read more

The swimming facility at Tricks is pretty good even though the pool is small. However we did not have a nice experience with gymnastics or dance. Would definitely recommend their swimming facility if your young one wants to learn to swim. read more

My daughter has just turned 3 and she began taking classes without parent participation. We attended a ballet class to try it out. Before we got to the class, I was going to sign my daughter up for ballet for a few months to see if she'll like it. However, thanks to the teacher, I am now thinking about withdrawing my daughter from gymnastics and swim classes that she is currently attending. For the entirety of the 45 minute class, the teacher has't done a single attempt to engage my daughter in the class. The only times when the teacher paid attention to her were when she was taking away toys from my daughter that she wasn't supposed to take (which she wouldn't have taken if she wasn't so ignored and bored to death). It looked like the teacher expected a 3 year old kid to act like a 10 year old and when she realized that my daughter can't behave as a grown up, she got utterly disgusted and couldn't even hide her disgust. This problem doesn't only pertain to that teacher. Many others teaching gymnastics act in a similar manner. No tolerance or patience for kids of younger age. There are a few good teachers but the majority we tried (swim, gymnastics, dance) are not very engaging and look like they don't enjoy their jobs. I think it's very important to actually like kids when one works with them. And the saddest part is? We, parents, actually pay good money for these classes and in return seeing my child treated like that is disturbing beyond words. read more

We tried one of the crawler classes b/c of a groupon. Pros: It's in a very nice clean location. The staff are very nice & seem to be caring/loving to the babies. Extra people are welcome on the floor w/mommy & baby. They have very cute interactive holiday shows (even for the babies). They have lots of things for babies to crawl over. Cons: After 4 weeks, the curriculum/activities didn't vary at all. There is more variation each week at their competitor (MyGym). There are a lot of hard metal leg bases on the floor for babies to hurt themselves on if you're not constantly watching them. Overall, we liked it, but it might be better to go to MyGym, or The Little Gym (if you're willing to drive) while they're little & try Tricks when they're older. read more

We just enrolled our 2 year old into the program and he LOVED it! As many mothers out there know boys tend to have more energy and like to climb, jump, and run around. Our son had so much fun and started crying when we were walking out. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. We also did several birthday parties at their facility, which were absolutely amazing. Smaller place then then the other gymnastic places that we been to. But they sure got everything. From gymnastic to dance to swimming classes. My two sons are taking a swimming lesson here. They loved it and cant wait to come back. Unlike the bad experience we had at another swimming class. After one lesson they refuse to go back and was haunted every time we drove past the place. I've been taking my kids to Tricks in Folsom since 2011. My oldest started with in Tumblebunnies, then did a few years in their dance program, and ended up back in gymnastics. She participated in their comp team program and really enjoyed that - short term commitment but gets the girls used to competing. My son started in mini gym and is now in TAG. He looks forward to his class every week. The coaches are great with little kids and parents too. Both of my kids have gained flexibility, balance, and confidence by taking classes at Tricks. We love tricks! My 3 year old daughter is in the gymnastics and dance classes and loves it, loves it! I was looking around for a dance class in the area and found Tricks to be the best. I usually participate in the city programs because in other cities I've lived in, these programs were always cheaper than private-run organizations. When I moved to Folsom, Tricks was $20 cheaper than the city-run dance class. In addition, if you sign your kid up for more than one class, you get a 20% discount on each class. I also really love the attention to detail in every class to make sure the kids are not only learning dance moves/tumbling moves, but why they're learning it and what areas of the brain they're working. They have so many wonderful teachers who are really amazing with the children. They incorporate shapes, colors, sign language and much more into all of their classes. We LOVE Tricks! Between my 2 kids, we have done gymnastics, ballet, and swimming here. All are great! The teachers are very patient, kind, and positive. You can tell they love their job. I appreciate the fact that each class is developmentally appropriate for the child's age and skill level. Children are encouraged, not pushed. An element of sign language, concepts of letters, colors, and numbers are also incorporated into each class, which is an added bonus! My only con is that it is on the pricy side, but as the old addage goes...you get what you pay for, and in this case, that is a good thing :) read more

Great venue for young ones learning to swim, maybe not for older kids as the pool is quite small. My 4 year old absolutely LOVES "Mr. Weston" who is a wonderful fun instructor for getting little ones comfortable and confident in the water. She has made such progress with him and asks all week when we can go back to swim class since she loves it so much. I highly recommend him specifically for young kids as he is fun and patient and extremely good at what he does. read more

We 1st came to Tricks for a friends birthday party and my daughter LOVED it!! Party rm here is smaller than the one in Citrus Heights but the size of the gymnastics area makes up for that. Also the swim classes are very engaging with playful teachers who give you a checklist of skills your child learns! read more

All the staff are very polite and helpful. The pool is very comfortable for the younger kids. My four kids love the classes here but I wish that the skill progressions were a bit faster. I would definitely consider this a recreational gym center which it is. The price is competitive w/other gyms in the area and now there are no registration fees which is a huge bonus. read more
