Went in for a beer and some food. There were hardly anyone present exept for the girls behind the counter. We ordered what we wanted from a "typical" pub-menu. The table was not cleaned since the last customer and there was a leaf of lettuce in the seat. Not so good start. Well, the Americana burger looked good, served on a toast, and with some fresh vegetables and potato wedges on the side. OK, nothing more. The burger itself did not taste much at all, but the bacon, cheese and fried egg made it a decent meal after all. Some other customers arrived, with noisy smartphones and absolutely no manners at all. Talking russian language loudly in their phones, playing loud music from another phone, making the whole scene quite absurd. This was very early in the evening, so this kind of behaviour was not expected at all. We paid and left. read more

Established in 1975.

En 1975, Pitu Perramon junto a otros 2 amigos y miembros de su equipo de Balonmano decidieron abrir la primera salchichería alemana en Alicante. Hasta el momento no se había visto nada parecido, se inspiraron en los locales de Barcelona y para una generación se convirtió en el lugar de encuentro. Si tuviéramos que definir los comienzos del Frankfurt sería el ambiente, la música y una apuesta gastronómica completamente diferente a lo habitual.

I studied abroad in Alicante and John Mulligans was THE place to go. On weekends the party starts…read morearound 2:30 am and does not stop till sunrise. The venue has three floors with a DJ and the main bar on the first, a pool table and bathrooms on the second, and a large dance floor, bar, and stage on the third floor. During the week they throw themed parties and hold events, such as a weekly beer pong tournament. While you probably did not go to Spain to play beer pong, the tournament is incredibly popular and a great chance to meet locals and other studying abroad students from around the world. While the place is not always the cleanest (especially on weekend nights) the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff is a mix of locals and foreigners who are very friendly and make you feel like a regular. It's a great spot, check it out!

I ordered a high brow French citrus liquor which they did not have, but settled for a no name Orange distant relative. We slithered up the stairs, a second floor hideout where there were only a handful of Stones loving people. "Yeah French girls they want Cartier Italian girls want cars American girls want everything in the world You can possibly imagine..." I danced for my man. Left feeling like a rock star.

Stopped in for drinks after walking the streets, waterfront and promenade. Inside/ outside seating…read moreavailable. We chose the outdoor umbrellad tables to watch the world go by. Listened to someone play their accordian and then watched along as a small a group of men danced and did gymnastics, they then worked the crowd for tips. Others were in and out trying to sell their goods. The servers were attentive and kept us and others hydrated.

Ha ido bajando un poquito la calidad a lo largo del tiempo... los primeros nachos que me comí aquí estaban tremendos,y la última vez que fuí... no era como antes. Ya no parecía tan... casero. Desde luego es de lo mejorcito de Alicante pero no al nivel de antes. read more
