I'm on a fixed income and I really couldn't afford to just throw $40 away. I would give zero stars there isn't an option for that.

Very Disappointing First Experience - Honesty and Customer Service Matter…read more I walked into Evergreen Liquors for the first time and decided to sit at the tasting bar. I noticed a sign advertising Maker's Mark Cellar Aged 2026 for $10 a pour, so naturally, I ordered it. To my surprise, when it came time to pay, I was told the price was $31 instead of the advertised $10. When I pointed out the sign, rather than acknowledging the mistake or offering a reasonable explanation, I was told, "There's no whiskey for $10, especially Cellar Aged." What disappointed me even more than the price difference was the attitude. Instead of taking a moment to explain their point of view or respectfully address the situation, I was treated as though I wasn't even worth having a conversation with. At one point, one employee turned to the person at the register and said, "You wanna deal with him?" That alone says a lot about how they handle customers. I've visited plenty of liquor stores, whiskey bars, and tasting rooms, and I understand the value of premium whiskey. This was never about the money. I paid the $31. It was about honesty, transparency, respect, and taking responsibility when a mistake is made. If a business displays an incorrect price, the professional thing to do is acknowledge it, explain the situation, and treat the customer with respect--not dismiss them or make them feel like they're the problem. Unfortunately, this is how businesses lose customers. A first-time visitor could have easily become a loyal customer, but instead, I walked away with a terrible impression. Trust takes time to build and only one experience to lose. The one time the staff member did not provide me with a receipt or remind me to try both products before leaving the store, one of the two products did not work. I figured I'd head right back up there to swap out the defective product but gave them a call first just to check. The staff member proceeded to call the owner and the owner denied refunding me or swapping out the defective product for a working one. The owner then proceeded to say it is my fault for not trying it before leaving. Technically speaking, that is true but is no way to treat reoccurring customers. Johnny, I hope it was worth making a few extra dollars and losing a loyal customer than it would have been to do the right thing.
