I called ahead Before going there to make sure they were going to be Open, In case they were having a tournament or some other activity, or would be Closed. I spoke to a very pleasant man who said they were closing but would be open next day. I asked if there would be someone to help me since I'm new to this. He said we are closing for the day, everyone here are Volunteers only. We can arrange to have someone that is really good @ training to help you. You can speak with Rick when you arrive, he will arrange the session. We set up time. I met with Art, who is a Range Master. Art was welcoming, pleasant, helpful & more important, he was extremely knowledgeable. He also was Patient ! He made sure I had all my Safety gear with me. We went over "Safety is Always first" - Many times. What each part of my weapon was, & did. How to use my weapon- Many times. Repetition is necessary- for "Muscle Memory" he said- Many times. It was Quality time spent. I really enjoyed the experience. I felt more comfortable & confident when I went home. Also, the local environment was more than I expected. The place was neat & clean. My experience at Tri-State Shooting Range has been a very good one. From the start when I met Robbie Love, ( the President), he was a gentlemen, and very imformative. He invited me to come and meet others. I am 67 years old, and I have not shot a gun since I was about twelve years old, (a .22 rifle, and handgun with my grandfather, a few times), I needed direction from the ground up. Joe Brock offered to teach me the basics of hand gun use. Joe is an excellent teacher. I was given a crash course in gun safety, gun range protocal, and how to hold, load, and fire a gun. He is as very friendly, patient and thorough instructor. Then I worked with Rick Smith, Rangemaster. He also is a very good instructor. Rick was very encouraging when I was able to hit the targets right away. I will say that everyone that I met truly loves being at the range, and loves what they do. I suppose I was not expecting the generous spirit that was shown to me. Unfortunately the media and others try to paint a negative image toward those that enjoy their handguns and rifles. These folks do not fit that negative image at all. Instead, they are responsible and caring people. read more

I went to the Tri-State shooting park for the first time today. As I pulled up I was greeted by range master Rick. I ended up doing a little horse trading and ended up with a couple rifles that had scopes on them. I have never shot a rifle with a scope. Rick took care of me like I was family. He got me all set up with some target stands, and then taught me how to sight in my scopes. He spent about 45 minutes with me and had me ringing an 8" steel gong at 200 yards. DING, DING, DING, BABY!!! I gotta tell you it's been a long time since I've had that much fun!!! If you are interested in learning to shoot, and are a first timer like me be sure to look Rick. It's been a few years since I've been shooting so I went to Tri-State Shooting Park to get reacquainted with my pistol. Rick Smith, Rangemaster, arranged for me to work with a Range Officer, Joe. Joe provided great instruction on range safety & instruction on the use of my firearm. Joe was extremely patient, knowledgeable & a true professional. I highly recommend Tri-State Shooting Park if you need instruction or just want to have some fun! Everyone was very friendly, personable & welcoming. I will become a member on my next visit. I went there with my girlfriend, and I hadn't shot a gun in almost 20 years. My girlfriend never had shot one before. The range officers were very patient with us. Helped set up targets get us comfortable and went over everything we needed to know about shooting, the park and answered all of our other questions. I will definitely go back. My girlfriend who at first was slightly against guns enjoyed the experience and the way it was handled by the range officers so much now wants to go back all the time. The range is decent ,clean,and the people are great! Rangemaster is very helpful and conscientious.Good people.This is my first time and I would definitely recommend especially if you are in the Mohave valley. This is such a fantastic shooting range. Rick, the range master is such a huge help. I purchased my first AR15, and he helped me dial in my scope and I literally hit 30 out of 30 from 200 yards. Range masters were very knowledgeable and helpful. I wasn't expecting the hospitality I received when I went there. I came in the gate not able to hit a beer bottle from 10 yards away and they helped me sight in my rifle had me hitting 3 inch targets at 200 yards! Thanks guys! Great range with great ROs that are friendly, knowledgeable and extremally helpful. They have a very nice skeet shooting range and the rifle and handgun range is tons of fun with steel targets, its a great range for beginners and sighting in rifles with the helpful staff more then happy to help do so. read more
