The duchy nursery has recently done up their shop and cafe which look over the nursery and the valley below. The cafe offers a selection of sandwiches, hot meals and cakes. The cream tea was delicious with plenty of jam and clotted cream ratio to the scone and lots of tea. The cafe also provides excel by coffee and cake. The duchy is definitely my current favourite place for a cream tea when returning home and is in a lovely location. A final quick tip for any visitors, the duchy is up a cornish lane, once you've gone past the golf club, keep going and you'll find it.

Mark and Linda, the owners, along with their team are always happy to share their knowledge and experience. Many of the local horticultural associations come for talks from Mark in the evenings. Every spring it plays host to the West Country Herb Festival, featuring Foods, Massage, talks, bee keeping and many more things. It's just a lovely weekend, many people come back year after year, from across the country.

As my partner…read moreand I were walking around, an older man with tinted glasses in his fifties who worked there was giving us really dirty looks and made us feel very uncomfortable. He was friendly to older women shopping but made us feel intimidated; I decided not to spend my money here after a poor experience and went to another garden centre instead. There was a very helpful and polite woman with short hair hair that was lovely however.

Tried to speak to someone and leave reviews on fb page and they delete comments and block users unless you leave a positive review. Definitely lost a loyal customer and would advise others to shop elsewhere. Such a shame when people are trying to support local businesses

It is quite sight seeing so many decorations and I always feel Christmassy after visiting. It does get quite busy especially shortly before Christmas, so it can be difficult to get to all of the decorations as it can be quite crowded. They also have a wide selection of plants and flowers as you would expect, and generally these are quite average prices. I would recommend a visit, but not on a weekend before Christmas as it is so busy, go during the week instead.
