I purchased my condo using Treadstone two years ago in 2017, and I don't think I would use them again. I wish I had shopped around as I feel I could have been given a better interest rate elsewhere. My rate was tentative and rose the week they drew up the paperwork. The random fees tacked onto the closing costs were interesting, another reason I wish I had shopped around. I liked Scot's personality right away, and he was easy to reach all throughout the loan process. I almost missed the deadline for securing an annual tax credit because they didn't inform me of documents I needed for it. Since it was the one part of this deal not making them money, they weren't too concerned. Likewise they asked me for a significant number of last-minute documents before closing that could have been handled far in advance. Though they told me several times that one of the benefits of using them was that they're a small local company where they handle all of their own accounts.. everything is handled through Amerifirst.. they're a very large company with locations all across the country. As soon as your loan is secured they will require all questions to be handled through their call center. When I called Amerifirst to ask them if I were to put X additional dollars towards my principle right now, how much it would impact my overall loan amount.. they told me "they wouldn't know, I would have to calculate it myself." Thanks? They recently started bi-monthly texts regarding using them for future purchasing/refinancing/etc.. which are obnoxious, but they did take me off the list when requested. I used Treadstone in 2012 to assist with securing funds for my home purchase and was happy with their customer service. Things have changed. Recently, Ia contacted the company for preapproval on my new home purchase. I was contacted after a few days and informed they could not preapprove me. The mortgage adviser claimed that he worked with the whole team to get financing secured but there is nothing they could do. I doubt this is true. I was referred to another local company to obtain preapproval and was approved within an hour. If you want customer service and someone to work with you, don't use this company. read more

Helped me and secure a loan for our first home. Then everything went down hill. I ran into some trouble and when trying to contact them they wouldn't answer phone calls or respond to emails. Only to learn the lady we had been working with went on vacation and I got reassigned to a new employee who had no clue what she was doing. When trying to contact her constantly had to call the front desk to get through and was told several times she was in training. We went to three different mortgage lenders when looking for a mortgage. I know a lot of people that don't shop around for a mortgage. It's one of the biggest mistakes they can make! I was really disappointed in treadstone customer service, lack of follow-through, and the ability to try and keep a customer...or even act like they care. Their interest rate was a lot higher than both other mortgage companies. (One local and one not) When I first called treadstone for pre-approval I waited a week and didn't even hear anything back. I finally emailed and asked what was going on. Beth at treadstone apologized and said oops I'm sorry I thought I sent that email a week ago. But that's the thing there was no follow-through to even see if I got the email. Why was I having to call her. So I got the pre-approval back and also a tentative interest rate, which I know can change a little bit. And told that we had a lot of options to choose from. 3 weeks later we finally find a house and go to start the financing process with Treadstone. They start the paperwork and come back with a interest rate a lot higher than what they told us. The other two companies kept their rates pretty much the same. When I told Beth that we would really love to work with them and a local company, but I felt they could do better on the interest rate. I told her the rates that the other two companies offered . She didn't budge . Her attitude completely changed. Her response was well sorry we're not able to help you sounds like you really don't want to be with treadstone anyway. Good luck on your search. And that was it. Obviously they didn't want our business, and obviously their customer service is extremely lacking. They can paint this lovely picture with their Facebook posts and their videos on how great the company is, but it doesn't match what's truly going on behind the scenes. And to top it all off our friend went with treadstone and was told that they rarely sell off any loans. It was important to them for it not to be sold off. Well they close on their home and even before they get to move in treadstone sold their loan to a subpar company with bad reviews. My friend was extremely disappointed. The only reason they went with treadstone is because they were local. Well to me treadstone isn't local when they're selling off the loans right away to other companies across the United States. We ended up using Quicken Loans the rocket mortgage program. I can't tell you enough about how easy and simple it was. They beat treadstone mortgage rate by a landslide, had excellent customer service, the process was so easy I was nervous something was going to go wrong somewhere. But nothing did!!! We got our closing date a week early and closed under 30 days. The team at Quicken Loans surpassed our wildest dreams and expectations. The team at treadstone Lending let us down! read more

I had a terrible experience with Treadstone. They had an employee who literally was ripping people off and then went AWOL from the company. I lost my property I was purchasing and it cost me about $30,000 in total. I met with both owners at the time who assured me they would make it right on my next property by covering closing costs and handling all costs associated with it. When it came time to do that and recoup a small fraction of what they cost me. They went silent and said they can no longer do anything for me. Both of them are not trustworthy and failed to own the mistake of a thief/crook for an employee. Not a chance in hell I would recommend them or this company. Stay away! read more

I currently have my mortgage through Treadstone Funding. They are very quick to make sure you move through the process! I did however, receive 4 emails with other individuals personal information about their credit, home, and mortgage that went to me in error. I brought this up to the owner as I would hate for my personal information to be sent to another borrower. In addition it took quite some time for a couple individuals to return my calls and thus there were some errors that did not need to happen. I was told this would be made right, but after I closed that did not happen and haven't heard from them since. Also, making the payments is not extremely user friendly. I would recommend them if you need to get approved and into the home quickly, otherwise go elsewhere. read more
