Everyone was nice (from the front office to everyone behind the scenes). My surgeon and his assistant put me at ease even though such a minor situation. They were very understanding of my nervousness. They were patient with my questions and concerns. Office and back rooms were clean. I got there early, and they were able to bring me back within ten minutes of me getting there. Definitely would go to this practice/office again.

She offered me two dates for the appointment & I chose one date, as well as the time from the 3 options she gave me. When it came time to confirm all this information, she had the WRONG DATE, the WRONG TIME, & the WRONG spelling of my name (it was WAY OFF). I cancelled the procedure after the 5th mistake (which included leaving me on hold for 10 minutes, then admitted she forgot about me). This is NOT a practice that I would trust! Susan H.

You don't go there unless something pretty bad is going on and pain is almost always involved. Why would someone choose a profession where everyone hates being there and dreads the visits? I can't answer that but Dr. Corcoran is the best dental related professional I've met. He always is in good cheer and makes funny little jokes to cut the tension. He calls you afterwards to see how things are going. The pain was very minimal and not a single even minor complication with a tooth pulling and implant. The receptionist are also nice and with two offices in falls church and Arlington, always an appointment to be had despite his busy schedule.

My dentist referred me to Dr Corcoran to have them removed, so I called and made an appointment for consultation. I was able to get in the same week, and the receptionist patiently explained all the location and time options I had. I was nervous about my consultation. I had never had any kind of surgery in my life, and I didn't know how much damage my wisdoms were in for. Dr Corcoran came in, and assuming he's met many nervous patients, he immediately calmed my nerves with a few awesome dentist jokes. He showed me the X-ray, explained everything that would be done, and I left feeling great about it. I got on board, and scheduled the real appointment for a couple weeks later. Fast forward to today; I had all four wisdom teeth removed, 1 of which was impacted, the rest simple extractions. I got the works with the laughing gas and the general anesthesia, and when I woke up an hour later, huzzah...no wisdom teeth. Surprisingly, I am in no pain despite having taken only 2 Advil right after the surgery. The numbness has gone away, and I have some swelling on the impacted side, but no pain. Huh. Dr Corcoran even called me at 9pm to see how I was doing. He noted that I sounded awfully chipper, and expressed that I should continue to take care of my wounds, even with no pain. How incredibly thoughtful of the guy to call me long after the workday is over, to make sure I wasn't dying or allergic to the antibiotics. My husband said that right after surgery I told him, "Gosh I feel great, I wish I felt this way all the time!" I think that means Dr Corcoran is doing something exactly right.

Once I got to the office, the wait was not long and the staff were able to explain the consultation clearly. Since the wisdom teeth surgery, my recovery has been going well and I have not had any issues since. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kim and his office if you are looking for an efficient and flexible oral surgeon.

Unfortunately, a 3D scan by my root canal dr showed I had to have a tooth extracted. My first time and I was terrified. He referred me to Sang Kim and I went there that day. Sang Kim met with me for about 5 minutes and said he would be pulling my tooth right then. I was shocked, this meeting was to be a consultation! The office staff came in 1 minute later, quickly ran through the procedure (with generic images online), had me sign a consent form, and had me pay over $2,000 RIGHT THEN. I have insurance, but they wanted their cash before issuing to insurance. They even said if my insurance sent me a credit, to bring the check to them! What?! While sitting their confused and now broke, all I could think was this guy was recommended by my dentist and I trust my dentist. BIG MISTAKE! If it feels wrong, it is wrong. Here is the situation, my tooth (a previous root canal tooth) got infected to the point it had deteriorated the bone under the gum. It was the infection that hurt and the reason I went to the dentist. Was it painful, yes. But not so painful I couldn't wait a few days to let some antibiotics clear it up before surgery. Sang Kim did not give me that option. Nor did he give me the option for sedation. 10 minutes after forking over a huge sum of money, I was in the chair getting numbed. Here is the first of what was soon to be the most painful experience EVER! The tech didn't put the surface numbing gel everywhere the dr would inject the numbing needle. When he hit the un-numbed area in my mouth it was like my brain was struck with lightning. I screamed with pain. He didn't stop - just said this was the most painful part. A few minutes later, he started pulling. I would tell him, "I can feel this, it hurts!" He didn't stop. Again I tell him, "I can feel this, it hurts!". He didn't stop. It is so painful, I start crying uncontrollably. He only stopped when he had the tooth pulled. After a small break, he resumed work to clear out the infected areas. AGAIN I tell him, "this hurts, I can feel it!". He didn't stop. I start crying again, tears flowing down my face, He doesn't stop. I start screaming in pain. He only stops to bring in more staff and shuts the door - apparently more afraid about those in the waiting room than the excruciating pain I was enduring. After another small break, so I could get my crying under control, he returns for the bone grafting - again I CAN FEEL IT AND IT HURTS! At this point I'm physically pushing their hands/instruments away from my face. Once he is done, I'm laying there crying. He nor his staff did anything to help me. All they would say was "That was a bad infection". So I ask, then why not let me take antibiotics before the procedure, or give me the option for sedation. They said nothing. I felt so violated! I'm in so much pain and crying so hard I could barely see to drive home. No one should EVER go to this place! All he cared about was getting paid - he showed no regard for my wellbeing. The surgery was performed 10/2/2025.

I went for my consultation, and was scheduled to have all four wisdom teeth removed two weeks later. Never having had any sort of surgery (ever!), this was a huge deal for me, and I was so so so so nervous!...but the assistants and Dr. Ali were super kind throughout the process. One thing that was great was that the patients can contact the doctors 24/7, for any questions or concerns. However, I do have to mention that you (as the patient) should double check the math regarding the estimate of pay with insurance. After reviewing my estimates, something didn't seem correct, so we called the office and it was an addition error on their end. I saved more than $100 just because we double checked the estimate we received during the consultation - but that's minor and should be done anyways. All in all, going towards my fourth week of post-OP and after following all the directions....my mouth feels almost completely normal, I did not have dry socket, all the sutures have fallen out, no infections, and I was able to eat a great steak three weeks later :) THANK YOU DR. Would not recommend, especially for people of color…read more When things get a little difficult or wrong, this health provider's first act is to get defensive and point out what the patient should have done instead, absolving himself of responsibility. His manner makes me wonder if he's been served with a malpractice suit before. Would not be surprised honestly. ... Dr. Ali's entire practice leaves much to be desired... I've visited his office for a procedure and follow up at least about 6 or 7 times in the past few years. I always need to brace myself for his appointments because he is racist and sexist- I will admit I'm not sure if it's intentional or subconscious... But one thing for sure, he's HIGHLY patronizing, especially to people of color. I've been trying to explain his behavior for him, because I didn't want to deal with arguing with a defensive man. But he seems to recognize when his patients bristle at his under-handed comments then he gets defensive. Meaning he's an intelligent man, just all the more rude since he knows where his words land. After so many visits though, i think it's safe to say his bedside manner is just plain offensive... consistently. It's highly confusing considering how diverse his patients are. His staff just follows his behavior. Efficient, but rude. Also worth noting in terms of his office staff and punctuality, I've always had to wait at least a good 15-20 minutes to see Dr.Ali, even if I showed up at the scheduled appointment time. Their office always seems to be too tightly scheduled, Dr. Ali seems to be always in a rush to the next thing. All doctors tend to be quick so this would be understandable, but it's strongly evident thathe wants to move on to the next thing and while he does make an effort to answer his patient's questions, it tends to be pretty curt and dismissive. Too many issues to unravel, this is just the tip of the iceberg surprisingly lol. Maybe just go to another provider, plenty others in the area.

He is kind, patient, and takes the time to explain exactly what the problem is. He then explains what he is going to do, step by step.
