June 2024 -- Really negative experience with Travis! I've been nervous to speak up, and it took me a long time to process and accept what happened. Still, I wonder if it was totally malicious as I'd prefer to see the best in people but friends and family have assured me that I should share what happened. Unfortunately, I experienced harassment at my hair cut. Starting from the beginning -- Late one night I saw the viral video and booked through the link with minimal research. I didn't think much of it after that. I arrived at the salon, and the stylist greeted me like an old friend. During the consultation, he referenced "the last time we talked" and I thought it was a silly little comedic bit. No, it wasn't comedic at all. He was dead serious. I was confused so he took my phone out of my hands and searched up his Instagram to show me our DMs from two years ago. Then it clicks...this man tried to match with me on a dating app! And when I rejected him, he found my Instagram to offer me a free haircut...Through his tone, it seemed like he was still mad that I *mildly* rejected him two years ago. Violation #1 was the intimidation factor, or lack of professionalism? IDK you choose. Then, I'm sitting for the cut with my hands on the armrests under the cape. The stylist leans over and HIS GENITALS rest on my hand. Not a graze, not a sweep. His junk did a full 4..3..2..1 on my hand. At this point, I was confused. Was that intentional? Was it an accident? Either way, no apology or acknowledgment. I got nervous, and didn't know what to do or think. Violation #2, physical harassment. Even after inappropriately touching me, the stylist let me know he was single and straight several times. He complimented my looks and asked me to take off a layer of clothing for the "after" photo. Violation #3. Finally, I hate the haircut. I asked for a trim with a wide U-shape. He gave me a butterfly cut with a crazy side bang. What the heck. I saw four inches of my hair flying in the wind and he goes "I think you want more layers." He said that at least twice as he kept chopping away. Violation #4. At the time, he was the youngest stylist and only English-speaker. He uses a really gentle voice to say sassy snarky remarks for intimidation. He tried speaking about me, to me, as if he knew me. He literally broke character to express his shock that I was resistant to his verbal/social manipulation. Super weird. Other women that went to Travis have said he's rude or went freestyle on their haircuts, disregarding their requests. He rents out a space from a salon, not employed by the salon. They have reached out to me to clarify this detail. read more

Travis is by far the best hair stylist I've had so far! I'm usually pretty skeptical about leaving my hair in the hands of a new stylist every time but I came across his page through a friend and loved his work. I immediately set up an appointment and I did not leave disappointed at all. His consultation is super detailed and he's extremely knowledgeable about what style works best for your face shape and provides his own input on top of what you try to go for. such a wonderful experience, immediately from the start to the end of the appointment, he was attentive and kind. We bounced off of each other in terms of what to go for hairstyle wise and i did not feel an ounce of worry while sitting in his chair. He really consults you and gives tips on how to style the hair afterwards. Randomly stomped on one of Travis's client Tiktok about a getting a haircut in Irvine which is where I live. So I did some digging and look through his works on IG, decided to try getting a "Bang Trim" service for a start. It was the most delicates & detailed Bang Trim I have ever gotten in my life like seriously. Most hairstylist would spend like 30 seconds or less, did a lil chop there and there when I asked for a curtain bang. But Travis takes his time consulting and fixing my curtain bangs into a perfection within 20-30 mins ish which I love how detailed he is! After that first appointment, I rebooked him for a haircut because he noticed that my hair is also a little choppy and I've been wanting to fixed it too. I have been getting my hair cut and dyed by Travis by I'm not even sure how many years now. Maybe 3-4? It just goes to show how much faith I put into this growing hairstylist. I am a very relaxed person when it comes to my hair, and most of the time, I let Travis use his best judgement when he cuts it. He has an extensive knowledge on hair and all its properties and cuts and whatnot, I have even had cuts where I let him do whatever he thinks best. When I do need a specific cut or dye from him, he informs me on what the results would look like and lives up to his word. Each consultation is thorough and I've enjoyed driving up an hour plus just to get my hair done and reconnect with him. Been to Travis twice now for haircuts and blue-black dye/toner to blend out my bleached ends I'm growing out and I'm very satisfied so far! He's great at cutting which is hard to find in oc or in general, and does his best to consider your face shape and goals when deciding how to cut. I usually ask for layers throughout my lengths, face framing pieces, and some lightening up of my hair for volume at the top. He has nailed it each time. Also have a great time talking to him about products and recs! Price point is fair for the satisfaction he provides and because the cuts and color grow out nicely.
