This place sucks worse than any other place I've stayed at. The staff is rude. The rooms are filthy and they have bedbugs.

Newburgh Inn

Our room was clean and there were no bugs. This place is changing its name to Newburgh hotel and…read morespa which will manage expectations a little bit. I left this same review under its old name which was Hudson valley hotel and conference center. It's definitely sunset boulevard, past its prime. But you can still tell that it was beautiful in its day. The rooms are surrounded by fields and woods. We arrived at dusk, in the summer, and there were a lot of fire flies. My 5 1/2 year old ran after them. The sounds of crickets and maybe even frogs was loud all night. Our room faced the courtyard, which is definitely nicer than the rooms facing the parking. If you like David Lynch, you will definitely love this hotel.

The Few room is similarly decorated with beautiful antique wooden furniture as well as a small library including historical texts about the room's namesake William Few. Despite its retro ambiance, it did not lack for modern conveniences. The room itself is quite spacious, more than enough for two people, and it has all the amenities you would expect including a large comfortable bed, a TV, water heater, and supplies to make tea. Every morning, we were offered breakfast which was served in a ornately decorated dining room and consisted of a tasty fruit salad as well as freshly baked croissants, scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, and coffee. This was delicious way to start off the day that we looked forward to everyday. The best part of our stay was getting to interact with the owners. Throughout our stay we were well taken care of by Lynn. She was always available if we needed help and offered tips about what to see and do in Beacon. Overall, I highly recommend the Chrystie House for anyone looking to stay overnight in Beacon. It is a far more luxurious and intimate experience than what you would get at a hotel and was exactly what we were looking for during our weekend getaway.

I'm not a religious person at all, but "God is in the details" and Dena is a miracle worker who doesn't skip a beat!!! From the amazingly soft sheets, the electric fireplace, the beautiful robes, the reusable water bottles, any toiletry kit you might need, a stocked kitchen with flashlights/bug spray/aloe vera/honey sticks for coffee/to-go cups, the best smelling shampoo, streaming tvs (which aren't even available in Manhattan hotels most of the time), and too much more!! I was just STUNNED at what an amazing oasis this was. The employees, and of course, Dena, were beyond nice and friendly, as well as the other guests. I went for a solo birthday weekend and had to take a mug/robe home with me! Dena even did a very nice and special gesture when she found out it was my birthday. I even extended my trip to stay longer. The history is rich, the facilities are updated and yet still have the necessary old charm, and the breakfasts are great. I will be back 100 more times - especially for fall and winter heaven Added bonus: It is a kid-free zone THANK YOU

We had an overall, great experience from start to finish. Takeaways: Dinner: 8.6/10 - subjective Debra (bartender): 10/10 (god dam she makes a drink - and you WANT to be around her). Night cap espresso martinis in the room were amazing! Breakfast (8:30-10:00am): 9/10 (could not believe how good that was for 'complimentary breakfast' which makes people nervous ) The Room: 7.8/10 - older but clean. This is an inn!! Quaint quiet clean - the bedroom TV didn't work - disappointing before bed, but not the reason we're here. Also, maid forgot hand soap for the room. FUN moment: we made (hand) soap at one of shops on Main Street- (cost $3.48 , had a lot left over lol) - was a fun oversight that made me make soap, by chance! Overall Service: 9.5/10. From the front desk to every waitstaff encountered , what a (small) lovely staff who truly makes you feel welcomed, not a bother in anyway and happy to be there. Sometimes a venue makes the experience special and sometimes the service makes the venue special. They are why we will return. This was a fun, easy, overnight that we're looking forward to turning into a tradition. We have walked passed for years and never been in until this past weekend! Thank you for hosting us and we look forward to being back!

Best choice ever. Greeted so friendly and warmly by host and then had an equally attentive and gracious server Gil! Everything we ate was delicious. Nothing to complain about except my date should have booked a room because I was stuffed and ready for a nap. We will absolutely be back because I have to try the lobster roll I passed on to have the short rib not disappointed just need to try other dishes lol
