Walking into Molin Vecio is like stepping into a fairy tale. As soon as you pull into the parking lot from the main road, you're transported into a beautiful, magical world. From the herb garden to the foot bridge over the stream, which leads to the old mill and outdoor seating, everything is simply picture perfect and we're not even inside, yet!
Once through the doors, it feels like you've stepped into a cozy cabin. (Or, an old mill house from the 1500's, as the case may be.) On our most recent visit, there were baskets of chestnuts, fresh fall flowers on each table, and lots of other thoughtful decorations throughout that made the restaurant warm and inviting. We so love the look and feel of this restaurant, we bought their postcard series with the Trattoria depicted in each of the 4 seasons to frame and hang in our house.
Quite honestly, we would keep going back to Molin Vecio even if the food wasn't that great. However, I'm happy to report the food is also the stuff of dreams! Their menu changes seasonally with a few items on the menu year round. My only struggle with this spot is not over ordering every single time. Their antipasti, primi, and secondi are always so tempting, but trust me here... Be sure to save room for dessert! While I've had my fair share of amazing pastas, risottos, and fish and meat dishes here, the real star of Molin Vecio is their dessert.
Somehow they manage to take two or three ingredients and turn them into a mind blowing plate of intense flavor. One of the best things I've ever eaten anywhere came during the dessert course at Molin Vecio -- perfectly ripe white peaches, tossed in a simple syrup, and fresh mint. So simple, yet, so incredibly fresh and flavorful. This is the common theme with food at Molin Vecio. We are looking forward to many more simple, mind blowing meals at this warm, welcoming Trattoria in Caldogno! read more
