Dinner in Chateauroux, France...
My friend found a seafood restaurant that she wanted to go to, but it was closed. We walked around and found Trattoria La Cucina. The manager was outside, talking with potential customers and pointed out the menu.
The outside dining area was appealing, so we went into the lively restaurant. It had interesting decorations... lots of pictures on one wall and lots of plates on the opposite wall.
Service could improve. We had to ask for water, bread, and parmesan cheese. The question, "do you want sparkling water" is tricky because when you answer, "flat" or "still", you will get a 6€ bottle of Tuscany water. Maybe the correct answer should be "tap water".
My traditional lasagna was alright. I used the parmesan cheese to give it a boost of flavor. The bottom noodle was on the hard side.
Overall, we had a nice meal together in a pleasant environment! read more
