If a picture is worth a thousand words, then take a look and judge for yourself at our pictures. It…read moredoes not look like the perfect pictures on the Dorset Landscaping website, does it? It is what Winston H*****r left us with, though. The owner, Winston H*****r, charged us almost $12,300.00 for a brick patio, walkways, and a small driveway. Winston tried to get the full amount up front. We gave him 50%. But Winston was over a week late starting the job. Winston showed up if and when he felt like it. Winston damaged 3 of our gates, lawn, and heat pump with his excavator and his "Ditch Witch". Winston also broke my wife's two ceramic ornaments, and the concrete under our garage door. Winston's heavy equipment leaked and permanently stained our driveway and the back lane. Winston would leave our garden hose left on after he left for the day. This was the side where WInston's brick saw was set up. There would be pools of water flooding the new brick walkway and into the next door neighbour's yard. Winston swore "F" words at our neighbour when asked to not block their driveway. Then Winston parked his excavator in front of another neighbour's garage overnight, preventing the neighbour from using his garage door to get his car out. Winston used our bistro table as a saw stand and destroyed it. He would help himself to anything in our yard. Winston laid the bricks over the concrete footings around most of the fence posts, and there are chipped bricks throughout. Winston did not adjust the lawn sprinklers that he had installed, and one did not work at all. one sprinkler was never installed, and two sprinkler heads were sticking too far out of the ground. Finally, we had to call a "professional" down to fix, and adjust, the sprinkler heads. Winston charged us for polyester sand, but used regular sand. He did not finish the sand. There are many areas with little or no sand between the bricks. Winston left the bags of sand and said we could do it ourselves. Winston charged us to seal the bricks at the end of the job, but he has refused to return to complete the job, and to correct the numerous deficiencies. Winston left brick splatter and sludge everywhere. A real mess left behind. Winston showed no respect, or consideration, to us or to our neighbours. in fact, Winston showed up on Canada Day 150, unannounced. One neighbour across the street told Winston off for coming on Canada Day and making so much noise when the neighbours prepared for a quiet Canada Day 150. My wife was so embarassed. Winston parked his heavy equipment on our lawn, even though he was finished using it, until the next job. When I text Winston about the deficiencies, he said that, "Ive been doing this for 20 years. You are the 1% of special customers that no matter how good the job is you will find fault. I am prepared to come and di the couple small 'repairs' However your resolve is to insult and threaten my work and business. Therfore I have no interest in trying to earn your business. Furhermore refrain from insulting me and threatening me as it is a lost cause." This response was from my text which mentioned his poor work ethic, damage done, and work not completed among other things. I told Winston that if he did not come by to correct the deficiencies and complete the job, I would place these pictures on the internet, lodge a complaint with the BBB, and take him to court. I told Winston that I would not go away. Would you hire Dorset Landscaping after seeing what Winston did to us?

I have not had any landscaping work done by Dorset Landscaping but would like to alert people to…read more Winston's character. On Dec. 28, 2017, Winston reversed into my car at the Abbotsford airport with his company vehicle. On site he apologized for his error, as did the female companion that was in the car with him. Winston was in a right hand turning lane and according to Winston and his companion he realized he should have been in the left turning lane. He backed up to make the desired turn and did not notice I was behind him. We exchanged information and I left the scene having no reason to doubt that he would take responsibility for his actions. I was wrong!!! First ICBC had to open a file as Winston would not respond to phone calls or letters. Upon ICBC reaching him (over a month later), he denied fault and blamed the incident on me. According to the motor vehicle act, when there is a discrepancy, fault automatically defaults to the person who is behind. Unfortunately there were no witnesses at the scene and the passenger in my car is not allowed to be considered as witness. As a result, I was left having to pay the deductible and my insurance premiums are now impacted. After reading the review from Rick J. and based on my encounter with Winston, I would highly caution the trustworthiness of this person when considering him for business.
