Academic Quality and Integrity…read more The objectives/learning outcomes for each part of the course were clear, precise and specific. No, there is no course [assignment] calendar, no written instructions for assignments to refer to for clarification (all instructions for assignments are through word of mouth), and no grading rubrics or definitive timeframes for when assignments are due. Each assignment is assigned verbally in class, and students are expected to remember what it is with no written instructions, which is very stressful. Preparation is key to obtaining success here. Also, expecting the unexpected and having a willingness to be flexible. The course syllabus does not provide documentation of the assignments for each week like a typical syllabus would or even posted assignments or expectations in the populi app. Homework is assigned sporadically and it seems "made up" as you go. The required tests and quizzes accurately measured my attainment of these learning outcomes. No, the quizzes (assignments) did not accurately measure my attainment of the learning outcomes, because I took stacks of notes throughout my time at the school and made hundreds of flashcards of key terms, etc., but they never helped when it came down to the quizzes, because the multiple choice questions were unique to the book (when there was no access to the reading material), contained grammatical errors that impaired comprehension of the questions, not receiving full credit for correct answers (marked incorrectly), no follow up on the correct answers to the questions, and given grades didn't earn (full credit) with no assertion to the correct answers of the questions. These did not evaluate performance fairly. The study guides were copied and pasted with an identical test to memorize the test questions and answers. I would recommend my instructor as someone who helped me learn. No, I would not recommend Mrs. Brown as an instructor. I only feel as if I learned from my her as far as the lectures and hands on skills were concerned, but the lectures, most times, did not transfer to the course assignments, quizzes, and tests, because the quizzes and tests were strictly formatted to the book, and we would have to go through the book with a fined tooth comb (open book quizzes) to find the correct answer, that was not given during the lecture. I feel as if I learned from my instructor most regarding the hands-on skills such as taking vital signs, EKG lead placement, blood draws (syringe, butterfly, and venipuncture), urinalysis (UA), suture removal, 2 mL injections, entering patient information in an electronic management system utilizing billing and coding functions, and casting and cast removal. The courses were well-organized, logical, and consistent. No, only as far as the book (chapter sequence and content), slides/lectures, and critical thinking questions were concerned, which were all a part of the Kinn's the Medical Assistant curriculum. The other instructional materials were also the only organized, logical, and consistent part of the courses. These included the PDR (Physicians' Desk Reference) book, ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases) Code book, and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) Code book. The online/threaded discussions contributed to my learning. No, and they, along with answering the critical thinking chapter questions, were never graded or followed up on by the instructor which required an initial discussion post and three peer responses. The instructor demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject. Yes, but that knowledge did not translate to the quizzes, based out of the book, and to any of the tests, unless an exact study guide was gone over in class (rote memorization of the answers). The instructor used various instructional methods to reach the course objectives, such as group discussions and individual presentations. Yes, we had many discussions about medical situations or content that was taught from the book that turned into very specific, but not entirely helpful or educational rhetoric was offered as most discussions got off topic about specific medical procedures in the student's lives. We did individual presentations on medical procedures, used "Canva", "PowerPoint", or other resources to create assignments, mock interviews, mock pharmacy/prescription labs, suture removal on fake skin, casting, use of a mock electronic health record, and a "field trip" to a medical center in which we made observations about the history of nurses and had an appropriate corresponding assignment in which we received appropriate feedback. Would you recommend this school or course(s) to a prospective student? No, I would not recommend this school to any student. This school was so problematic, I wouldn't recommend anyone to attend it. I just wanted to complete the academic part of my education and my externship and forget about all the drama and unprofessionalism

I want to take a moment to share something important to me…read more I have three kids that have all played competitive sports since they were old enough. Out of all the teams we have been on the amount of LOVE AND SUPPORT we have gotten from NJE (even after moving on to dance) is beyond amazing. I've never in my life had a team that truly makes you feel like it's more than just a team...it's FAMILY!! Yes it's still a business and they need to make money but it has never felt that way. How many coaches do you know who will take time to surprise EVERY athlete on their team whom made it is Disney by showing up at THEIR SCHOOL to give them a congratulations gift? That's right. They drove all around the KC area to surprise their girls for winning a bid to "The Summit" (the Super Bowl of cheer if you will). Now this is my youngest second year of not cheering. She had switched over to dance a year and a half ago. How many of you could say your ex coaches and teammates/parents would pay to come watch your child perform at their new dance studio? ‍Well I can tell you out of all the coaches my kids have had NJE are the only one that has does this. This is what touches me deep in my heart and they will FOREVER be a part of my family! This is what these kids need to see. Love/caring/kindness and to me THIS is winning! (Yes they do actually win competitions also. Lol but this is more important to me than anything) They are the perfect balance of being tough on your child when needed and expect them to give 100% and when they do great they know how to show the athletes how proud they are of them. If we ever go back to cheer (which she is talking about it ) we would only go back there. Oh and speaking of they are the only gym I know that does not have the drama and when a girl leaves they almost always come back. In case you were wondering my daughter had cheered their for four years!

The Best place to cheer!!!! It's a blessing to be in this Fun and Family Environment where your…read moreathletes learn a ton of skills & how to be leaders. Thank you Nje for always being great!
