On Aug 24th 2024, a Saturday afternoon, one of the cooks (which we later learnt was the owner's…read morehusband) came out from behind the back area and absolutely humiliated my husband for wearing a mask as he was checking out w the cashier. Did we need to explain that my husband had a lung condition compounded by recently fighting cancer via chemo which has left him immunocompromised nope. But did we anyhow... yup. And the employee/co-owner still kept up his tirade and humiliation.... Vile. Berated him in front of customers to the point my husband left and I stayed behind to get a refund for all the stuff we had bought moments earlier. Dude came out for a round two at that point and kept saying nonsense like 'I'm a mask expert, I'm certified' and 'I'm a brick wall nothing you say is going to stick' when I said he should be ashamed of himself for attacking someone who clearly identified they were in cancer recovery. And all this in front of a line of customers. Owner/wife comes out to tell him to stop yelling in front of customers but not a peep of apology to us. Only the cashier was decent, they looked mortified by the whole thing and swiftly completed the refund. Went from my husband doing a happy dance in the parking lot at the thought of milkshakes and chock-chip cookies, to near tears absolute humiliation. It was soooo grossssss We will never spend another cent here.

You can actually go inside the apple and climb to the top for a view of the entire area. There are also stalls in the front selling fresh apples and produce, restaurants and cafes, boutique shops selling fresh fudge and cider. They also have a bunch of family attractions like mini golf, rides, and a petting zoo. Perhaps, what they are most known for is their bakery selling fresh apple pies, apple bread, cider, fritters and variety of seasonal baked goods. There is also an open-kitchen display window so you can watch how they bake their products. We decided to eat at the smoke house restaurant. A full rack of ribs, fries and a blooming onion costed $55. The ribs were flavorful and tender but I thought fries and onion were just very average and overpriced. I would skip those next time. Since I was watching my sugar intake, I skipped out on the more popular items and opted for a few scones and muffins for the drive back home. The scones were so rich, buttery and very crumbly on the outside with a dense interior. It was so savory and delicious. The muffins were very good as well and to my surprise wasn't too sweet. This was such a charming little town. I would definitely come back again next time I drive eastward. I think their bakery items are really good and were very reasonable in price. I'll try their famous apple fritter and apple bread next time I come back.

I dropped by here for apple pie, and also picked up some butter tarts, apple fritters and apple & strawberry fritter. The apple pie is quite nice and has a tartness to it for the no added sugar version and I also prefer it cold/fridge. Some prefer it hot and warmed up with ice cream which is an excellent option as well. The butter tarts were also surprisingly nice, gooey in the center with a nice light pie crust. I wouldn't recommend the apple fritter or the apple & strawberry fritter - mine was a bit too much dough, dense and a tad dry and mot to my preference. The store also has some souvenirs to purchase as well as a few hot foot options too if you're passing by and want a touristy type of feel which I quite enjoy. There's also a lot of tour busses that stop here which makes sense as it's a nice quick stop right off the highway.
