Originally it was a small house used as a temple, but 20 years later, the leadership team purchased the building next door and expanded the temple. Through many donations from the community, the temple reshaped its building and is now in my opinion, the most beautiful temple among the temples in the area. In addition, the leadership team did a great job making their donations, spending, and events transparent. In regards to ashes kept at the temple, they definitely need to improve in this area. I have both my grandparents kept here and searching for them is always difficult. However, you can't blame them for this. It's a Temple not a place to keep everyone's urns. (I chosed to keep my grandparents there only because the temple was where they spent most their time and I knew they'd enjoy being there) The temple is continuously improving, so I look foward to seeing what it looks like in the future. Btw, the monks here are very knowledgeable and respected. Great teachers if you are lookng for guidance.

They did not asked for payment or tips, it's up to my family offered them. Note, I see the reviews below, it's ridiculous! I can tell, they never been in the temples in their whole lives, and it's first time form them. They just go to the temple and do nothing, no cooking, no cleaning, no helping, no bring the trash to the dumpster, not even was the dishes. The temple's people cleaning after the event and not their family. The temple's people do all the work for their family's funeral. The people who took the foods, it's not the temple's people, they were their people went to join their ceremonies. Sometime, they only paid the temple's gas, heating/AC, or electricity for $200 or $300 or $500 for two days and one night of the ceremony. If we compare to the funeral home, American Funeral Home, we paid them at least $10,000 to $20,000, but no one complain a sh*t.

The iCampus at Granite is a blessing and this is where God caught my eyes, my ears and my heart. You might ask, what does it mean? Well Pastor Milas messages are powerful and he teaching right from the Bible. What does the bible say and what are you going to do about it. When they say Granite is a place where friends become family, it is true. I joined the Icampus serving team, got involved in a womens zoom small group and my husband and I also attend the Saturday Salem campus. Pastor Jeff and Tracy are awesome.. Also Pastor RIck and Laura from icampus are amazing, they too attend Salem Saturday. Granite has so many activities that give everyone an opportunity to attend and meeting awesome people. What helped me to get back to my christian faith was the SHINE women's conference. I went by myself and Granite made sure they connected me with other women.. Now I have gone twice to SHINE and looking forward to go again next year with my friends. The major issue I had with the service is the one size fits all, typically mega church, move to have your "main pastor" video screen into the church service. No matter what size church, this type of model always feels out of touch and not personal... that being said, I think the campus pastor who spoke afterwards should be allowed to fully pastor this church, he is warm, friendly and clearly a stronger teacher than the main pastor. Although the main pastor may have a vision and gifting with people, he is cheesy and not much of a teacher, from me and my friends perspective who visited. My advice is let the campus pastors actually pastor and let go of the control! Also, it was way too dark and loud... and trust me I've attended many churches, retreats, conferences. Just a little brighter lights and volume a little down would be much more inviting for new and current attendees. Overall I'm sure the local community loves this church for the people and fellowship, but it's not for a structured or insightful message that's for sure. If you want young people to come to your church you are going to need to step it up. We want to learn in an authentic environment where everyone in the church is operating in their proper gifting. Get rid of the screen Big Brother pastor approach and let the individual churches grow. Won't be attending again, but good luck!

It's not your ordinary church and I do agree with Brandy on a few things however the most important aspect of Christianity is to love like Christ loved us. I love the fact that the church dose not play politics, in fact it's refreshing to me. If your looking for a strike and flavorless church this is not the one for you. You will need to put in what you want out of the church. This church is self is open and very welcoming. These a coffee and tea bar. If it's your 1st time let them know and you get a drink on the church. You also will have your own parking spot. They also have an amazing child care/Sunday School. There's different rooms for different ages. My daughter LOVES it. It's very joyful to me when I ask my daughter what she learned today and she's mentioning the Bible and showing me what she made. The lady who runs the Sunday School is not messing a round one bit. I feel extremely safe dropping my child off. The teachers are amazing. HOH currently has 2 very knowledgeable, very talented and down to earth pastors. The church has a few different elders that are at the church but not very known unless you ask to speck to some one about faith or something else The teachings are easily relatable to any one person no matter what's going on in your life at that moment. The teachings can easy be applied into your daily life and make you feel good about your self facing Monday mornings and that week. The music is not boring old people music at all. The music is very upbeat and sounds more like a Christian rock band at times. I really LOVE the music, I'm sure we can thank the fact that both of the pastors are extremely musical inclined and are part of the band itself. The church has a great website that is updated regularly and you can watch weekly teachings and see what's new online you can also give you weekly tides online as well. HOH is filled with a very nice people that are willing to help you no matter who you are or what your facing but you need to take the 1st step and ask as the church is not pushy and is very relaxed. I can't believe if doesn't have 25 five star reviews by now!…read more My husband and I found this church community in early 2009 and were so happy to have a relaxed atmosphere, good teaching, fun music, and some technology in the service that isn't attention grabbing but gets the job done. People dress cool but not pretentiously, and if you walk in a little late there are still plenty of comfy chairs to go around and no one will make you feel bad for those ten extra minutes of sleep. I am inspired by the church vision -- "live fully, love deeply, give freely." That pretty much says it all to me in a world where people often live as if tethered to fear. Freedom!!! The pastoral team is intelligent and talented, but without over-intellectualizing a topic. I like Jed's real, conversational way of speaking and I always took a few points away from me on even the most hackneyed of themes. The team that does the programming and design for the publications and slides during the service are highly talented. Set design changed with the different teaching themes (why yes, they *did* suspend a bed from stage during the series on sex last year!) and I was always happy at the way Harbor unselfconsciously integrates the arts into their programming and services. I also appreciate that the church has a wide range of people, from young families to teenagers to more "experienced" folks.... and for a place as seemingly white-bread as Chelmsford, there's a bit more than the normal ethnic/cultural diversity as well. I can't remember why we had a bit of an issue when we first tried to attend; I think the mailing address listed on their website is different from the actual street address. They're located in the Chelmsford Mills across Princeton Street from Bainbridge's Restaurant. There are always good signs pointing the way on Sunday mornings before the services (Sundays 9:30am, 11:00am). An extra hat-tip to Tom, this guy on staff who teaches a "Financial Peace University" course on Dave Ramsey's financial material. Cheesy name, but fantastic information. The class is 13 weeks long, 3 hour classes once a week and it's a big commitment but your life will be totally different after taking it. I think they typically host this class once or twice a year. Big thanks to Harbor of Hope for being real, honest, and unafraid to talk about some uncomfortable things with aplomb.

This is a solid biblically based church and school. The families that attend are welcoming. Our kids have a solid foundation in the Lord as they are heading out into the world and we are grateful.

This church played a very large role in the destruction of my relationship with my Mother many…read moreyears ago. They got involved in a very private family matter that they had no businesses being part of. I had nightmares for years from what the former church leaders said and did to me. For decades now I have made many desperate attempts to get my Mom back in my life. This church and some of the people in it have always come first and her family has come last. We have been tossed aside, abandoned, neglected, and forgotten so she can put all of her time, energy, and resources into this church. She even had them burn my beloved piano in a bonfire at this church. And yet no one saw a problem with that?! She has a woman who she has been living with her since shortly after I fled her house. This woman is controlling, manipulative, and abusive. She has had free room and board along with lavish vacations for decades all on my Mother's expense. Many people in this church also have been taking advantage of my Mother's generosity and blind allegiance to this church by enjoying free vacations at my Grandfather's Cape Cod properties. Meanwhile, her children and grandchildren are completely forgotten and ignored. She has abandoned us and despite my attempts to get help from the pastor and multiple people in the congregation, everyone keeps turning a blind eye to this. Many outsiders have witnessed the control and abuse by her "roommate" but no one in the church believes us. They just want to keep benefiting off of my elderly mother and my grandfather's inheritance that he trusted her to be in charge of. There is nothing Christian about abandoning your family and rejecting your own grandchildren. She plays the victim and has told lies about me and what really happened in order to excuse her neglect and soothe her conscience but everyone outside this church sees what is really going on. This church caused this issue with my Mom so many years ago and they have a duty and responsibility to help fix it. This is my last desperate attempt to save my Mother. I only pray that some of the Christians around her listen and help me.
