Tried to book a trip, I had to send 3 requests before I got a quote. I can only assume it was a canned quote as it did no include anything I requested, business class flights, hotel 2 nights before the tour, travel insurance with health insuance. Asked for an updated quote, received it but instead of business class they had me down for first/business, stating "The flights default to first class for the domestic segment, since these flights don't offer business class" I was planning to leave from Minneapolis which showed many flights with business class. After all of that decided to book with another tour company. read more

Costsaver tour. Can't recommend. Yes, it's a budget tour, but the hotels are too far away from city centers and attractions to be able to plan anything on your own. You are pretty much forced into their overpriced optional excursions, which is NOT as advertised - their slogan is a tour done "your way". Meals were just incredibly bad. Of the four free included dinners, we skipped two because food was TV dinner quality at best and we were in Italy! Don't do this - you can do better on your own with a little planning. read more

I had a tour scheduled and completely paid in full. Two months before the trip Trafalgar cancelled it. I lost the airfare cost even though I had purchased their trip insurance. I tried to change the date of the trip to one in 2024 and was told there was a 50/50 chance that one would be cancelled also. Obviously I will never book a trip with them again. read more

My wife and I took the Trafalgar Tours Britain and Ireland Highlights tour in mid-October. It was a bus tour that started in London, although there were no organized activities in London itself. It was just the meeting and end points. We had a tour director, a wellness director and our driver, 46 people plus the three staff. This was our first time in the UK and our first tour with Trafalgar. The hotels they chose, with one exception, were all very good, clean, comfortable, with breakfasts included. The tour was hectic but we saw a lot of places that we might have missed on our own. Our tour director, Kate Allen, was a Scot and an amazing story teller. She provided fascinating history lessons and anecdotes all day, got all of the group's tickets at various venues, e.g. Edinburgh Castle, Stonehenge, Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-Upon-Avon, etc. Our wellness director kept track of everyone and was diligent in spraying our hands with sanitizer before allowing us back on the bus. Our driver Ian was amazing. He handled our very large bus as nimbly as if it were a family sedan, smoothly and expertly navigating the very narrow roads and lanes as well as the highways. We felt very safe riding with him. Highly skilled and a great attitude. The one hotel we didn't like was the Novotel in Glasgow. Beds were hard as rocks and the staff was careless with our luggage. All of the others were very nice. We had two nights in Dublin but only one night everywhere else. The optional experiences on the tour were well worth the additional cost and were chosen to provide a great overview of the UK and Ireland. By the way, in Dublin, do not miss the Guinness Storehouse tour. It's a fascinating history lesson and, on the top floor, tourists get a free pint. What a civilized idea. We had a great time and would consider doing another Trafalgar tour. read more

I joined a group tour on Trafalgar's Costsaver program and wanted to post a few tips/warnings. Although the itinerary was great (Spain and Portugal), and the tour leader and driver were great, there were some things that I wish I knew ahead of time: 1) Activities that are included on most other tours are "optional," on a lot of Trafalgar tours. This ended up costing an extra $600 during the tour. 2) The group size was HUGE-48 people. 3) The hotels were not only pretty bad, they were all FAR away from the city centers and attractions. This meant that we always had to either take public transportation a long way, or spend a lot of money on cabs. Hotels were too far away to walk anywhere. 4) When they emailed and asked me to post a review, they only asked ONE question, "How was the service?". Since the tour guide was great I gave them a 5 star review, thinking there would be more questions about other aspects of the tour after I clicked the Next button. That was the end of the survey- ONE question. I feel this is deceptive because it looks like the tour got an overall 5 star rating when I would have rated the OVERALL tour 2 stars. They didn't let me review the hotels, activities, etc. which I would have given much lower ratings. BE VERY AWARE before you book. read more

This company use to be good but now customer service has tanked. It's impossible to get through by phone and zero response by email. Trust me, there are so many other tour companies out there, find one that works for you. It's too much of a headache. We went on a Highlights of Bohemia tour (east europe) departing from Frankfurt. The tour is sufficient for getting from point A to B without anything truly catastrophic from happening, but the included excursions are truly bare bones. They try to make more money off of you with the optional excursions that are extra. The quality of hotels was inconsistent and the included food was inedible! Perhaps this was also due to the fact that European food sucks at baseline, but the dinners were not even local fare! For example, we were given Russian pasta in Hungary. Best hotel was Radisson in Warsaw. One hotel in Berlin did not even have free wifi (wtf). To add insult to injury, the tour director actually requested tip (approx $150 per person) and positive feedback. Trafalgar should pay their employees and contractors a fair wage given how pricey the tour already is! They should really abolish this tipping nonsense. read more

Booked precovid to Japan. They canceled. Thereafter requiring full vaccinations with boosters. 2 of us are vaccinated x2. We don't want boosters. One is unvaccinated. I did not book a trip with a vaccination requirement. They have not refunded us and for 2 years caused us aggravation. They don't answer the phone or inquires. Even our travel agent is having a hard time getting communication from them. We were willing to go elsewhere in USA or to a country with covid test but Trafalgar insists on vaccinations. Trafalgar / Brendan 10 day tour was a total nightmare! Day 1 - you're on your own Day 2 - you register & that's it Day 10 - you check out & go home SEVEN day bus tour from hell. Cramped buses with broken arm rests and busted recline buttons. Travel in bus, your guides come on board & talk a mile a second & offer 1 guest to come to driver's post to take a pic to email to every guest! Dirty hotels, filthy carpets broken bathroom fixtures & brown-streaks on white Dungy sheets looked like feecies tracks! Haggis in Scotland stunk up the fake palace add-on room where we dined in a "castle". Tour guide made fun of handicapped passenger and he appeared drunk much of the time. He told off color jokes, picked up guests from drop offs late & bother bus driver & tour guide acted enibriated. Horrible Trafalgar / Brendan. Trafalgar bought Brendan so now they both suck. Stay away from Trafalgar tours. Just say NO to Trafalgar tours. Trafalgar lets passengers justjump out of bus to tag countries, & call it a tour. Wretched Trafalgar excuse for a vacation. We took a tour of Copper Canyon this past week (over Christmas), starting 12/18/16, ended on 12/25/16. It was the longest and most boring, exhausting trip I ever took. Not much to see or do, mediocre food (not your typical flavorful and delicious Mexican meals) - quite often we would go out and have some street tacos to remind ourselves of real Mexican food. With Mexican peso plummeting by 25% we l stayed at places that were similar to Motel 8 (about 50% of the lodging places). THE HIGHLIGHT WAS CHRISTMAS DINNER AT MACDONALD'S!!! The final Chapter... Trafalgar offers a variety of Tours that vary in duration, activity and places of travel. The places that I am mentioning, most likely can be added to any Trafalgar Tour. This day we packed for Brussels and relaxed. I had a $50.00 trim in town and then putzed at doing my own nails. We had a light lunch on our private terrace. Hubby's Uncle Fernand stopped by to visit and invited us to join them for dinner in town. When we returned to the hotel, the owner surprised us with a farewell bottle of Champagne. The Hospitality in Europe is not to be forgotten. Vianden, Luxembourg to Brussels, Belgium... Today is the day of the Big wedding. We arrived at the Castle that we would be staying in and where we would be enjoying the wedding reception. The name of the castle was the Chateau de La Rogue. The rooms were small and we so enjoyed sharing a hall bath with our neighbors, but hey, we are sleeping in a Castle. The wedding was a Catholic Ceremony and it was long and beautiful, once we arrived. The bus that transported all of the guests, first took us to the wrong Church. We returned to the Castle, where we all enjoyed a two hour outdoor cocktail and Hors d'œuvre celebration in the Courtyard. Needless to say, the Dinner was incredible, the bride and groom were beautiful and we all danced and laughed the night away. The following day with our heads still in the clouds, we drove from Brussels to Battweiller, Germany. It was a miserable day, weather wise and my kind brother in Law had planned to take us to Waterloo on the way to his house and it was water logged ;+} We saw the Lion Mound, which overlooks the Battlefield, where Napoleon was defeated. Then we went to Bastogne, WWII Battlegrounds and Museum. The Town of Battweiller had an awesome Picnic this next day. We enjoyed the festivities and all of the many booths of local foods. On September the 1ST we went to Neideroberstein. This town is known for it's gemstones. I bought some beautiful Beads and a few other pieces and the greatest cocktail forks, with different varied and colored stone handles, that I still get compliments on. We went to a local German restaurant and I don't know who does it better than a German Haus. Well, maybe the Italians, ah yes, the Italians do. The following day we spent with our final packing and visiting and just relaxed and tried to remember it all. On the 3RD of September we flew out of Frankfurt to return to our home in Coronado, Ca. Not such a bad exchange. We have been Cruising in most recent years and we do love that everything is paid up front and we get to tour ports all over the World. However, for a land tour, I would not think twice about using the Trafalgar Line, which is also in Canada and the United States. I've just finished a 13 day escorted tour of Scotland with Trafalgar. We started in Edinburgh, went up the east coast stopping in many places, up to the Orkney Islands, through the Highlands, to the Islands of Skye, Mull, and Iona, and ending in Glasgow. I saw SO much more than I would've on my own! Both our tour director/guide and our driver (a beautiful, brand new Mercedes coach equipped with WiFi, a bathroom, and charging ports.) were friendly, very knowledgeable, and beyond accommodating. We have just returned from Trafalgar tour of 8 days in Britain. It was our first trip ever to Europe and first coach tour ever. Our group of 50 middle aged and senior travelers was a mix of novices and much more seasoned travelers. On the 2nd day I over heard one of the more experienced travellers tell a new one, a tour IS NOT a vacation. Truer words were never spoken and also very helpful and enlightening! We did not purchase a cost saver so all hotels were 4 star with one in the Scottish Highlands more of a country inn. All were clean and quiet even those in cities. If you are new to this type of travel you may be in for a few surprises.... Bathtubs....most properties had tub & shower and some were shower only. It is not always clear how to turn on/off the taps...some went in different directions entirely than one would think some had mysterious configurations that required more fiddling and some were mysteries of the universe! Tubs are set much higher off the floors and like another reviewer noted you didn't STEP in but rather felt like you had to launch and/or pole-vault your way in!! There are grab bars on both sides of the tub but still. If you are short like me it felt like I had to take a running start each day. If you are a person with mobility issues it could be difficult. Tour Director. Ours was pleasant enough but had a very unfriendly habit of jetting off with the dreaded vox sets before ALL were off the bus. This happened at the end if the first day where several of us had to run (literally) to catch up and find her. This was a Saturday and traditional market day in most English towns. Add to this confusing mix about 6 or 8 OTHER COACH TOURS to the general population and it felt like chaos. We eventually caught up but it was very stressful. Coaches. If you like riding luxury motor coaches then this is for you! If you have the expectation that you'll have leisurely time to explore and meander you will be SORELY DISAPPOINTED. In an effort to show you as much as possible their schedules are tightly scheduled and timed and jam packed. We spent more time on the coach just DRIVING point to point than actually stopping to walk around somewhat leisurely and enjoy the beautiful and historic architecture and views. The longest we stopped ANYWHERE during a day stop was Stonehenge at 1 hour 45 mins. This was BARELY enough time to get your admission ticket line up for the shuttle busses to take you OUT to the stones - you CAN walk but its about 1-1/2miles - and line up AGAIN for the return ride. Then you wait endlessly in line for the loo. You will be up EVERY morning at 530 to have your luggage outside your hotel room BY 645 and BE SURE TO GET TO BREAKFAST BY 700.... the bus left the hotel at 800 sharp. Then you drive 2 hours to the first stop which was usually 10 minutes to take photos and get back on board. Then its another hour a stop for quck lunch and one more stop before getting to the hotel at 500 pm each day. It was EXHAUSTING. "Our next stop is X minutes/hours away. We will drive you round a bit, park the coach and then be back IN EXACTLY X minutes (35-45 was the LIMIT)! Also if you don't like masses and masses of people and innumerable other tour groups around you pushing shoving and jostling we were told to come back in early spring or after mid September for the best experience. PLUSSES We saw some amazing and breath taking vistas especially in Scottish Highlands and met lovely people from across the US, Canada and Australia. The coach driver was AMAZING and superb. Even travelling on the most seemingly narrow country lanes he maneuvered the massive Volvo coach seamlessly. We laughed and talked a lot. We had an experience and we fell in love with Scotland. Again several of the photo-OPS stops were of little general interest and in the opinion of several a complete waste of time. The people who live in the market towns were very friendly helpful and kind. The fudge ("tablet") in Scotland was to die for! "Tablet" comes in many flavors and varieties and closely resembles home made fudge in the US. Scottish fudge mire closet resembles soft chewy caramels .... If any of this matters to you if course.... Overall we would go back to Scotland and in April g or fall but NEVER in summer and NEVER Trafalgar read more

If you like to spend all day riding in a bus, day after day after day, stopping to look at "free" things like churches, vistas, graveyards, statutes, and livestock, this is your company. If you like driving past most things of significant interest, verbally acknowledged by the tour director, sign up for Trafalgar. If you like staying at mediocre hotels located so far from the city center that you have to taxi to and from the "heart" of them, this is your travel company. And, if you like staying in motels without AC, or with thermostats in your room but which do not cool, have I got the company for you. We bought a limited tour. They booked our hotel, The Kensington Hilton, our Oyster card, the hop on/hop off tour, an introductory tour of London, and all transfers. We also purchased the day trip to Windsor castle, Stonehenge, and Bath. They had a representative at our hotel every day to answer questions and help with our trip. We were very pleased with the trip and Trafalgar was first class in their arrangements. We would do it again. read more

We've gone on 3 Trafalgar tours in Europe since 2005. Our most recent was the Grand Italian Experience which lasted 15 days. Rachel White led a wonderful journey thru Italy and kept us moving. Rosario drove a safe and fun filled bus too. Hotels were not what youd find in Las Vegas but worked as sleeping spots for us. Excursion dining was the best and sightseeing trips were great too as we visited Capri,Bollano and the Venice canals to name a few. It was worth every cent...we'll be back again. read more

We just returned from Best of Britain tour via Trafalgar tours. It was our first experience with them. I booked the trip based on their reputation (should have read Yelp). The first impression was not a good one....the representative who greeted us at the first hotel was in a hurry to leave and gave us VERY LITTLE information. The hotel was lovely BUT it was in the west end of London and all of the guests (with the exception of 2 other couples) made us uncomfortable (read traditional muslims). Instead of booking our group of 48 at one hotel, we were separated into 3 locations! The next morning we were to have a morning tour of London. The "tour" consisted of an independent tour company (not Trafalgar) who drove up past some landmarks....no stops for explanation and a blur for photo opps. If we had not arrived in London 3 days prior, we never would have seen or experienced the city at all. Morning 2 had us shuttle to a central meeting place....up at sunrise to await the transport with NO breakfast...although we were promised a "breakfast to go." The hotel was unaware of the arrangement. Once the actual tour began, we were informed that our designated tour guide had a family emergency, which is understandable, and that a new guide was assigned. The guide came to our tour with 5 hours sleep in the previous 48 hours. He was dog tired and totally unorganized. Also, this was his first time conducting this particular tour. It appeared that our driver was more well informed about our destinations. Although not fault of the guide/driver, the tour tries to fit in too much. It seemed that we were in the bus (not the most comfortable either) more than at any of the destinations. Although Glasgow was to be a stop, we just about breezed thru the city only stopping momentarily at the city square for photos! For the amount of money that Trafalgar tours cost, the hotels started out well and declined at each destination. Some of the rooms were so small that it was hard for the 2 of us to navigate in them....not to mention tub/showers. The tubs were soooo deep that I can only imagine that some of the older tourists just about had to pole vault in (not too many grab bars, either). I usually try to overlook setbacks, etc. but there were too many to ignore on this trip. Of course there were some wonderful moments, beautiful destinations and lovely travel companions. The highlight being the Military Tattoo in the courtyard of Edinburgh Castle. Quite an experience. Beware prior to booking this particular tour....not enough time to enjoy or explore. We travelled with Trafalger on the September 13th Rome and Tuscan Highlights with Antonella Perferto as our tour guide. This was our second tour with Trafalger in seven years. We, along with our fellow travelers in the group, paid very good money to go on this tour. The logistics that Trafalger masters on this type of tour is exceptional. Moving a group of 40+ people to beat the crowds and to get the most out of their precious time is no easy task. Trafalger's planning is very admirable. At this point, I want to be perfectly clear that we enjoyed our Rome and Tuscan Highlights immensely. I also want to be clear that it was not as nearly enjoyable as our 2011 Trafalger tour of Italy and Greece. Why, you ask? We found that the hotels on this trip were far inferior in general than our 2011 tour. The Hotel Columbia was our home for six nights and other than it's excellent location, it was a huge disappointment! There are at least a dozen hotels within a three block walk of the Columbia in Montecataini Terme that would probably be a better place for Trafalger guests. The Hotel Villa Franca in Rome the first night was not a great starting point either; far away from everything and just not a place. The pre-set dinners this time around were of a lesser quality than our 2011 journey. For some very strange reason , we ate indoors at two venues that screamed "al fresco" on evenings that were in the low 80s and there was little or no air-conditioning to cool a room of 40+ or more people. This made it very uncomfortable inside while it was absolutely gorgeous outside. What a shame! It was extremely warm in Tuscany during our trip. Daytime highs were in the high-80s to mid-90s. The sun beat down on us at least 90% of the daylight hours. So we found it odd that our tour guide SOLD us waters on the bus for 1-euro each. We were wondering to ourselves, with what we paid for the tour, why weren't the bottles of water FREE! Finally, our tour guide Antonella was both sweet and unbelievably rude. She had a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personality. No one knew from day to day or even hour to hour, which persona would she up! Not someone that we would want to go along with on a tour with again. We purchased an "imperial Highlights" Europe tour from Trafalgar Tours from AAA travel agency. We purchased travel insurance as required from their affiliate, AON travel insurance. While in Vienna, Austria we were asked to leave our backpacks inside the tour bus by travel director Emmo Laing. This is a requirement by the Parliament to visit such place. When we came back, my wife's purse which contains her heart medicine and our ATM and credit cards were stolen from her backpack. Emmo created an incident report, we called AON, they ensured that they will pay for our new early-return airplane fare. They also gave a list of doctors to see on the next city we are going to visit. Upon arrival, we called the doctors but no answer. Emmo and a local guide helped us get my wife's medicine from a local pharmacy. When we came back to the U.S., AON did not pay us claiming there is no doctor's exam. AON should have proper logistics knowing we are arriving on a city after 6:00 P.M. Friday heading for a weekend. I believe it is their fault for not having proper logistics. We asked Trafalgar to help us with such claim, they were not able to help us. This experience is a very good lesson for us, we are not going to use Trafalgar for our travel. Watch out for AON travel insurance, they have a lot of bad reviews(WWW.RIPOFF.COM) read more

We booked the European Dream via Costco. Then the bad news, Trafalgar told us the trip we booked did not have enough sign ups and they had to cancel it and book us on another tour at a different time. This cost us big money with airfare because we DID NOT pay for travel insurance. This was a huge unforeseen cost. If you book any trip that requires airfare please be aware of this!!!!! Our tour guide Martine was knowledgeable and had our hotel keys at each stop and kept us updated very well. She said she was a tour guide with Trafalgar for over 25 years and did a good job. Our coach driver Pancrazio was another story, he argued with Martine and was grumpy most of the time. The coach/bus had a bathroom but the driver told us all not to use it, and when a passenger had an emergency need to use the toilet he started cussing and slamming doors. We regretted paying him the full tip. They charge for each sub-tour, unfortunately they wont tell you locations are shut down. We went on the Trevi Fountain tour and it was boarded up for repairs for over two weeks, Trafalgar should know this and we were all pretty disappointed. You would think they would disclose this shut down of the best part of a tour before taking 70 Euro or $110 dollars from you. Also, not all hotels they use provide wifi without an additional charge. DONT forget to bring a power converter if you are from the USA. When we arrived in England, our tour guide Martine left us and the new guide took over. The new guide (I never got her name) did not have our rooms ready, and could not explain the tours. She handed us a brochure and tried to leave promptly. I called Trafalgar twice to contact someone and they didn't seem interested. Many of us on the tour got together and formed our own dinner and tour. We all are hoping to get the email list Martine provided to exchange photos and do a group complaint. However, after this experience I dont think they want us to be able to contact each other. On a negative/positive note, our Trafalgar ride back to the airport came unscheduled, nor did my call or requests from Trafalgar provide a departure time to the airport, so our driver arrived at 5am and said he was leaving at 5:20. We complained and they rescheduled the ride to 7:30 which was much more appropriate. The great thing was the ride was with a newer model Mercedes which was classy. Overall, I would say the tour was 60 percent very good and 40 percent of it was a disaster. Please heed the warnings above it you proceed to book with Trafalgar. You have been warned! read more

We had just returned from 9 days tour Best of Eastern Canada. We were travelling with Trafalgar for many years, after this tour we decided NEVER again travel with Trafalgar. The bus was overcrowded - 52 person in the bus with limited space. All hotels except Westin in Toronto were stinky with dirty baths. We were waiting more than an hour to get the room, our luggage were displaced, so we were carrying our luggage ourselves. Food was very ordinary. There was not any walking tours in some cities - we saw just glimpse of the buildings through the windows and we had a long unpleasant drives. The Tour Director was without any experience and had heavy accent, which was difficult to understand. We just were very happy finally go home. read more

In reality--no stars! We recommend that you do not book a Trafalgar Tour. We had completely paid for our 16 day trip that was booked several months ago. Now they canceled the tour just 2 months before our departure date. Find a different company. read more

Took the New England Autumn Tour Oct /2016. Had the best tour director, Dave S. of Salem. He made the trip great. Very informative, very patient and kind. Got to know everyones name and where they were from. Traveled, MA,VT,NH and MA. Leaves were awesome. I think "brush off" is what Trafalgar does best. They changed my hotels in a Prague-Vienna-Budapest to inferior hotels far from downtown, in a leisure vacation where you are supposed to get around downtown on your own. First they apologized but refused to help, now they are offering to reimburse me for one taxi ride (out of 12?) if I can show them a receipt. I ended up cancelling my next trip with them (to Portugal) when a nice apology and very modest compensation would have gained them a client. My last trip with was with Gate 1, with a great tour director. I should NOT have assumed that this was the rule. Next time: Trip Advisor and I will choose my own hotels. read more

Recently completed a Trafalga Tour "Delights of London & Paris. After reading some other reviews it is obviously is about the Tour Director. My wife and I have had the experience of a life time. We have so enjoyed our trip and our Tour Guide James Payne was exceptional. A week before the tour started we got an email from James welcoming us aboard and seeking an idea of who was going to take up some optional extras. We were in on everything because this was going to be our first European visit and we wanted to see and do as much as possible. On our first night in London at our 4 star Hotel The Cumberland in Oxford St, we were all greeted by James, had name tags and encouraged to introduce ourselves to the approximate 45 people on board. We did so willingly and met Americans, New Zealanders, Canadians and other Australians on our Trip. We had dinner that night at a nice English Pub which was part of the tour and continued getting to know each other. This really set up the next 8 days I feel as the next day we had all relaxed a little in everybody's presence and were comfortable to be ourselves. On the bus for the first day James reinforced the fun aspect of the tour and encouraged us to move around the bus and not stay in same seats etc. This became another fun aspect when on the bus because it just became a joke about where we were going to sit next and nobody was disturbed and we again all had fun with each other and got to know each other a little more. In regards the tour sight seeing, we achieved and saw so much in such a short time. James's pin point organisation, his inside contacts and knowledge meant we did not wait, we saw every site from the best angle and the at the best moment in time. The Eifel Tower at night when shimmering is the perfect example. We had the best seats at Moulin Rouge, we saw a fantastic show 42nd St at the West End in London, we saw London and Paris at night, Oxford, Bath, and so much more I cannot put it all in. The food in Paris was exceptional. The accommodation was 4 star and what we expected comfortable and clean but the key was located in prime positions within the cities. Hazel and I travelled on a London to Rome Highlights Tour (April 15 - April 24/2016) and had a fantastic time. We deperted London on April 15th, staying in Paris, Lucerne, Venice and Florence, before arriving in Rome. We had a luxury coach and a professional Tour Guide - Vicki, who enriched our vacation through her professionalism, efficiency, personable character - while sharing her treasure of knowledge regarding the history, architecture and local lore of every city and country we stopped in and drove through. Vicki was passionate about her work, enriching our journey at every stop on each day of our journey. We had a great time travelling with Trafalgar, and especially with Vicki - the consummate professional...organized and efficient, while always continually employing such a great bedside manner around so many different people and personalities - great communicator and an effective leader. Trafalgar satisfied all of my expectations and more! I used Trafalgar for a 2-week tour around Italy and London and was by far the most un-stressful, carefree, and fun vacation I've ever had. It wasn't too expensive either! I would recommend Trafalgar to all my friends and family! I will definitely use them again for future touring of the world :) read more

This was our second tour with Trafalgar and it was good. The driver and tour director were both outstanding. This was a Cost Saver tour of Spain & Portugal. Since it was a Cost Saver you have to expect some cuts in the facilities and tours. The Optional tours are good but not for everyone. Some folks may not like music and dancing or visiting religious sites. This gives you the option to select those options that interest you. As for hotels, they are typical 3 or 4 star hotels (2 or 3 star rating in the US). However the hotel in Valencia was a bottom of the line hotel. It had no amenities, was located in an industrial park not near anything. The staff was ok but not very friendly or helpful. The food was terrible. The room was barren with cheap furniture, a non working in room safe, a shower that didn't work, a refrigerator that you had to have a key to access, curtains falling off the wall. They difinatley need to change hotels in Valencia. The last hotel we stayed in was close to the airport but far from everything. About 40 Euros to get into town. The room and amenities were typical, the bed was ok. Trafalgar needs to find a different hotel closer to the city. As for the optional tours, Trafalgar needs to do a better job of leting folks know the difficulty of these tours (a lot of walking, up and down staitprs etc.). These tour are not good for folks with physical disabilities and Trafalgar needs to rate theses as to physical requirements read more

We went on the Cost Saver Spectacular Canyons and National Parks tour. The Canyons and Parks were Specular! What wasn't spectacular was 3 of the Hotels chosen by Trafalgar. GoldCoast in Vegas room was old, musty and smelled of cigarette smoke. Rug was full of stains. Quality Inn in Page Arizona was disgusting! Not only did the room have an odor, but the bathroom had mold on the ceiling. The bathtub looked like it had never been cleaned. Black soap scum. My husband and I did not use the shower. Finally the Forty Niner in Jackson hole had dirty towels on the floor and a large dead bee on the window sill. Called the front desk and no one came to clean the room that night. Went to the front desk twice the next day before the problem was solved. Not enough time for rest area stops. The bus was mostly senior citizens, they need time. Some rest areas had only 2 stalls. Bigger facilities are needed. Otherwise the actual tour was most enjoyable and fun. Tour guide very knowledgeable and had very personable. Would definitely go back to the National Parks. read more

Run down accommodations in areas away from tourist sites. All optional tours were greatly overpriced, for instance we paid $40 to view the "David" when admission price was only $9. Packed like sardines on a bus for way too many hours. We booked a "leisurely" tour that was not supposed to leave before 9 am, but we were scheduled to depart before 8am on 6 of our 13 days. Included meals were some good, two incredibly poor both in quality and quantity. Our tour director was great, but we will not travel with Trafalgar again as they fell well below our expectations in many areas. read more

Hello, I am here to share NEGATIVE experience with Trafalgar. I bought summer vacation to Italy and was really looking forward to it. After the full price was paid and I bought airfare, Trafalgar cancelled the tour. My airfare insurance covered cancellation for medical reasons but not because tour operator decides to cancel the trip. Trafalgar offered some assistance with cancellation fees ONLY if I would rebook tour on different dates. At that time the cost of air tickets went up and I was no longer able to afford it. I was left with $350 cancellation fees from airline, another $100 spent on cancellation insurance, ruined summer and a bitter taste in the mouth. read more

Just returned from London Explorer trip and had an awesome adventure. Everything went as planned. Our tour guide Tony was the best ever. He was well organized, knew the sites and was very on top of things. The only negative was the hotel, the Cumberland. AC was inadequate and service was poor. Rooms smaller than shown. Trafalgar should consider changing hotels since this is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. Will book another trip thru Trafalgar. read more
