Traditions - Well suited name. Nothing fancy just a solid haircut by SKILLED barbers. I imagine this is how Barber Shops used to be. No fancy waiting chairs with fashion magazines and a wall of hair products to sell you. This is a very small shop but very old school. Don't expect a 5 minute buzz and a hot towel thrown over you face. They spend the time to make sure you leave with a SHARP haircut. They do beard trimmings too that can take as long as a haircut because they really take pride in their work. Parking can be a challenge the first visit until you get the routine down. (often they can accommodate you in the same parking structure they are located. Every two or three weeks, my hair grows all sideways and hit a "I look terrible" plateau. No really, I once had a homeless man walk up to me and say, "you look terrible," and then he started swearing at some innocent pigeons just chillin' on a bench. So after a long day of screaming, shouting, learning, and being on Fox 35 News for a hot minute (http://bit.ly/1V30FxA) I needed to get done up! I searched on Yelp and found Traditions not too far way from me. Anyways, things to know: I. LOCATION: Your GPS will take you to an office building, but know that Traditions is actually located in a small room between the openings of the adjacent parking ramp. So don't go inside the building. Stay on the sidewalk. II. SPACE & AMBIENCE: It's small. Like, my living room is about the same size of the joint. And I live in a studio. Near the door is a small TV. I got to watch part of Southpaw. Haha. Call and make an appointment, because only two waiting chairs there exist. III. SERVICE: They have two barbers. One of them rents out the joint, and the other dude (close to the window) serves as the other barber cut my hair. I asked for a number one shave on the sides, comb over with a line down on the left, and pomade. Not only did I get done up right, but he also put some fancy ass oils around the lining of my hair. I love fancy ass oils. He did all of this while wearing his iPhone earbuds. Haha. IV. PRICES: It's a little pricier than what I'm used to. I paid about $21, which was unexpected for a small shop like this, and left a $5 tip. I mean, I don't really care about dropping extra money for a good cut, so I ain't complaining. I would be, though, if he did a bad job. But he didn't. So it's worth it to look fresh. V. OVERALL: If I visit O-Teezy again in the future, I won't hesitate to choose Traditions again. Thanks to you yelpers i found a great barber while in a bind to get a cut. I called Rob and asked if i could get a cut he stated come down there is one person im working on right now. I waited about 20-30 minutes to get in the chair. I didnt mind the wait seeing the quality work he does for his clients. Time ***disclaimer*** if you are need a quick cut make sure you tell him ahead of time. If you are looking to be pampered and treated like a king and time isnt of the essence then get Rob and also a shave. this was easily the longest cut/shave of my life. Hell girls get massages and sh*t why cant us men feel the same? Value- i called around barber shops in downtown to get some prices. Traditions is easily the best bang for your buck HANDS DOWN. most places charge around 40 bucks and thats just a cut. Pffff no thanks! You get a $100 treatment for 1/4 of the price. Detail- with the time comes extreme detail. down to LITERALLY one hair being slightly longer on top. I haven't experienced the level of detail someone puts into their work. Appointments- get with him before he blows up. Hes relatively new on the block and this really is a hidden Gem. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to become a regular. Shave- the shave started with some shaving oil, lather, then a hot towel to open up the pores. After removing the towel the mastery begins. A solid barber at a good price. I have been into Traditions a few times. Each time has provided me with a great haircut. Located near the intersection of Church and Roseland, Traditions is a barber shop for men who knows how to deliver. I arrived for my last haircut around 5 the other day. The actual venue is located in a parking garage. While a bit out of the ordinary, the parking is free and the space is well-used. When you go inside, you see two chairs, a Yelp shoutout, and a tv playing a "guy" movie (Total Tecall last time). The only negative about this place is the wait. It can be pretty long. However, that's only because the two barbers really take their time to deliver a superior haircut. Each of my haircuts have been 45-60 minutes in length. They go to amazing lengths to make sure your hair looks as on-point as possible. I also like the fact that the barbers chat more with those who are waiting instead of you in the chair. I don't like talking much to my barber, so this makes for a great way to have chatter without it being distracting. This location also has a Groupon that provides a great deal on a haircut. However, the price by itself (about $20) is still fairly good, especially considering that the cut you get is at such an elite level. Overall, Traditions is a small little barber shop that prides itself on excellence and efficiency. After my husband's barber relocated I was going crazy trying to find a good one, and oh my ... so many places, so many ratings BUT even though places weren't bad, I wasn't "feeling" any of the ones he tried. I would usually finish some of the "left behind" areas etc. I love attention to detail, no rushing people out ... These guys are great. Jonathan did an amazing job on my beard. He was very meticulous and took his time, about 45 min on a trim, shave and tint (to get rid of the greys). It looks amazing. I travel a lot for work and fun and usually get a trim everywhere I go. Just moved down the street here and definitely found my spot. Call and make an appointment if you're in a rush. It's a nice small two man shop, so I could see a walk in not working on a tight schedule. Very reasonably priced. Oh and they asked where I found them and I told them Yelp. They asked to see a coupon they had on yelp. Long story short they had no idea they had any reviews meaning all the ones you see are real non induced reviews. I live downtown Orlando and walked over to your shop near church street, which is located in a parking garage! I would NOT recommend this place! First time I tried this place since it was local, so I gave it a shot. Huge mistake! 1)I made an apt for 10:30, didn't get my haircut till 11:30. I would have been ok with this had the wait been worth a great haircut. Didn't leave till 12:30!! 2) Worst haircut I've ever gotten! The top was not blended or faded into the sides at all! The top is not in proportion to the sides, I've been told I look like I have fat hair or looks too fluffy on top (I get a faux hawk). I tried explaining what I wanted but that didn't help. Now that I think about it I mentioned I wanted a 3-5 and I'm almost positive I got a 2 on the sides which is way too short for me. The guy there tries and means well, but he's a nube. I live in PA and I was told about this place by my dad who recently moved to Orlando. Normally I trim my own beard and to a lesser extent my hair (I'm a hat wearer). Anyway Rob cut me up and did my beard. I gave him free reign over my over grown mop hair and asked for a slight trim on my beard. What I got was pure art in return mind you it took a little longer but it was well worth the wait.
