I DoorDashed two pitas, chicken and falafel. I don't know if they were representative, but they were both fairly gross. The sauce on the falafel pita was super weird, like something I've never had, and I've eaten plenty of falafel sandwiches, and the falafel was cold (I dug one out to see if I wanted to eat just the falafel). I threw the falafel pita away...did not eat it because it was so gross. It was kinda bizarre how much sauce they put on it...see pic. Not only unappetizing (the sauce), but overall gross in appearance, especially being in such quantity. I can't recall ever throwing away a falafel pita, but this was really gnarly. So...the worst falafel sandwich I've ever had. I can think of one in Tucson that would be competition for worst ever, but I did choke that one down. I ate the chicken pita but did not enjoy it. Hard to find at first as the name "Jiffy" is on the outside. Parking was the next challenge very small area so maybe miss the lunch or dinner crowd for a spot. One in you may realize that seating is the another challenge. Very limited inside and outside patio area would be ideal in nice weather. Also a little noisy so I was able to get a table in the corner on the inside. You order and pay at the counter and, if you aren't familiar with the menu, you might want to at online so you know in advance what to order. Friendly service with a smile. Tried this place right before moving out of Eugene and I wish I knew about it before. There aren't many mediterranean restaurants in the area so Tradewinds is a really good option. The food was good and there is a ton of variety within the menu. We tried the lamb gyro, greek salad and sampler plate. There is also great patio seating in the front that makes for a nice dinning experience during warmer weather. The only complaint we had was the wait time. I love this place. I've only ever ordered the Greek food and I would say that's enough. They have traditional gyro meat (thinly sliced beef/lamb), souvlaki chicken, and falafel for protein choices. You pick if you want a gyro (sandwich), plate/bowl with rice, or a sampler plate (like a snack plate). All are tasty! They also have burgers, sandwiches, and salads. We've been eating at Tradewinds at Jiffy in Eugene for a few months. In recent weeks the menu items we order have been laced with chili when the menu says they don't have any. I hate chili and specifically ask when ordering if something has it in it. I have been told what I'm ordering does not. Then, with my mouth on fire from the capsaicin, have to complain. They make no effort at recompense and this last time told me that since it says on the menu that he mediplate doesn't have chili I must be wrong becasue they can't imagine how it would get there. That, of course, is my point. It shouldn't be there and it is. Utter lack of logic and totally unhelpful. Closest restaurant to my house, but I'm never going back. read more

Honestly some of the best food in Eugene and a great value. One of our favorite casual restaurants so we eat there frequently (or do take out) for lunch and dinner, enjoying their Greek Pita sandwiches, Greek salads, sampler plate, and really really good burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Really one of those few places where we could order anything off the extensive menu and know we would enjoy it. Serving sizes are generous so you won't walk away hungry for sure. It's counter service, bus your own tables, water and condiments self serve on a corner counter. So not 'fine dining' ambiance, but certainly is fine food and the reduced expenses for staffing translates to a great value. Tradewinds serves up some super tasty Greek/Mediterranean style food and has a nice enclosed outdoor seating area that was surprisingly comfortable. We were helped by a very friendly lady at the counter (Abbie?) who also served up our food when ready. I had the classic Gyro Pita, my wife had the sampler plate and others in our party had the veggie pita, Medi plate (falafel plate?), My Big Fat Greek Pita, and the Chicken pita. The food is really good. It's a bit of a funky spot. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. I'd say sort of pub gate with a Mediterranean twist. Everything seems really fresh. I love the chicken pita and fries. Salads look really good. My husband and friends liked their sandwiches. We sat amongst mops, cleaning supplies, and re-stocking items in the corner, facing a toilet. Not the greatest space. My order was brought out incorrectly and it took awhile for them to get me what I actually ordered. Like- not sure how to rate this place because the food is really good. The space and service is kind of meh. I think I'm gonna go with 4 stars and call it eclectic. I've eaten here a dozen times or more and am sitting at my table waiting for food now. This is a place where you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table, so no table service per se. In general, I would rate the food 5 stars for the price point. I typically will get a pita sandwich, lamb or chicken and a side Mediterranean salad. I also appreciate their beer cooler which offers one of my favorites (Wienstephaner Weissbier) at only $4.25- this is a draw that brings me back! The salad and sandwich vegetables are fresh and inviting. The dressing is tasty. The chicken is nicely cooked while the lamb strips at times are overcooked and even crunchy. They do not appear to slice the lamb off a loaf like Cafe Glendi, so my guess is that it is frozen and then cooked on a flat top. Some negatives- While this is becoming common, I find it a bit offensive: If you pay with a card they use an iPad and spin it around for you to select a tip where the minimum is 18%. There is no table service. THIS is where "tip fatigue" comes from. I will add that they do not do a good job of cleaning tables between guests. Frequently, i grab some napkins and clean my own table. So tell me why the *minimum* tip is 18%. Nevertheless, with all that said, I return for the food and the beer. If management adressed the annoyances I mentioned I would cheerfully add another star! read more

Zero stars for a giant zero. Called 3 times got a voicemail informing me of their holiday hours? It's February 24th guys. Finally on the fourth attempt I got an obviously frazzled busy employee who asked in between panicked breaths if I could hold. You want to have compassion for people when they are stressed and trying their best but as customers of eating establishments when does this all end and come around to reality? It's already gotten too expensive to eat out very often so when you do you hope for a somewhat good experience with the product and the hospitality that generally accompanies it. The owners need to staff these places and put out good consistent products and service of they will go out of business. We see operators come and go in this town at an alarming rate for basically the same reasons. This place is popular so I really hope they have a long successful run. P.S. The atmosphere is kinda lacking, it's a quirky place. But the food is great. It's your typical order at the counter and bus your own table kind of establishment. The menu has a variety of options so that all the picky eaters in my family can find something they like. I personally love the Mediterranean options. The gyro and Greek fries are delicious. Get out of here, this place is 4.5 stars?? Some of these reviews have to be fake. This spot is VERY mediocre and should not be above 3.5 stars overall. Greek flatbread pizza was terrible. I could make much better at home. Gyro meat is very generic frozen strips cut into chunks. Red sauce is terrible and crust itself is so basic. How about let's swap to a tatziki base and crumble some feta on top and boom, already much better. Greek fries were as advertised, the fries themselves were not that great though, tasteless and needed more salt. Some weird characters inside during my visit as well was just the cherry on top. Once I ordered take out and the kid told me his dad was out of town so it might take a little longer than usual. The front patio is heated and they sell beer, wine, and espresso drinks. This makes it a great place to meet friends that like to drink all the things lol. They have a Mediterranean menu and then gourmet sandwiches and burgers too. They do it right. Everything is fresh, and large portions! The place has a bunch of wine, beer, and other beverage coolers inside. They supply small, and extra large menus. (Really easy to read!) Also, you can see into the kitchen. Maybe not the cleanest looking restaurants at face value, but nothing concerning either. You do need to buss your own tables, and get your own water, but all in all this is the sort of place you meet your friend for a glass of wine, or a great lunch. We ordered the spani plate and the mixed sampler plate. We also got the housemade dolmas, and Greek fries with feta and taziki.
